Hobby lobby?!?!?! Not even Joanns!? She had to go Hobby Lobby?!?!??! I'm so sorry you went through all that. I appreciate the kindness you've given her by not naming names- I honestly don't think I would have been able to hold back, myself! I hope you found the yarn you needed for your sweater.
Ooooo, that was a spooky yarn story! Daaaang! "Uhm, the call is coming from inside the house, babe" 😂😂😂😂 FOR REAL! I'm absolutely backing you on this one.
First, pulling out the ~matching~ orange ipad for the Dramatic Reading. Iconic. 🎃 Second, The Dead is absolutely *unhinged* Third, the final line of the email, and Your Response! I gasped, screamed, and cackled 🙀😹 (And a special mention for Eek 👻 who I hope will be making future appearances ✨)
100% agree that everyone should do some service work! I served my time in IT tech support, bank customer service, and some teenage time as a pet-shop cashier and pet-cleaning-up-after person. You learn skills you don't anywhere else, like how to smile while yelling in your head, and how to not be a jerk to the person on the phone. Thank you for this story!
I just hooted out loud. At work… that hobby lobby line was a scorcher. The only thing o could think to respond would be “who hurt you?” Lol thank you so much for sharing!
I do hope that one day they watch this video and see just how wrong they were !! And now you get to share the last laugh with all of us. It is so sh***y that you had to go through this and truly infuriates me that people like her exist and think it’s okay to treat people like that, but I do thank you for sharing as the story was very funny in the end. Your comeback was amazing!! I do wish I knew what shop this was as I do not want to support a shop who treats their customers like this but I respect and appreciate your want to keep them anonymous.
OMG, this story was the scariest I've ever heard! It reminds me of a local dyer in Springfield. She's opened at least three storefronts at various times in the last 10 years, using local grant money, but is rarely open. Refuses to honor any of her gift certificates from past businesses, because she changes the name each time. Despite knowing the person who bought the certificate. And the worst is that a friend bought yarn for a custom dye and then tried to gaslight her into believing she never brought it in. I guess the moral is that there are always some people who try to work the system. I love your little wobbly ghost! He's so cute!
I agree. She was trying to cheat Christopher, which is why she leaned full throttle into projection by accusing him of dishonesty. She gave herself away.
I hope one day this lady pulls a Squidward; her eyes shoot open in the middle of the night and she realizes that the person she unleashed the beast upon was not the one she has a feud with, but the Mr. Rogers of the knitting world, who are not in fact the same person.
Wow, I'm so sorry that happened to you but at the same time thankful for the story! Definitely got my popcorn out for this one. I've got somewhat of a horror yarn story as well but it's been so many years.. hmm perhaps one day I'll tell 😂
OMG Christopher!!! How awful of this person. So glad you have the amazing attitude and handle it like a PRO!!! The call came within the house -- hahahah... and Hobby Lobby!!! WOW and WOW!!! last email EPIC!!!!!
Oooh! Too scary! I'm going to have to leave all the lights on tonight. LOL I'm soooo glad you said "she" because I was afraid you were talking about a different instagram dyer who seems so nice and I really want to try his yarn. Whew!!
Okay, so I had to come find this video after your IG story and wow......WOW! Some people should NOT have a business, she is lucky you have the integrity to not name names, because WOW! I agree and have always thought that customer service type jobs should be required, my entire career was in retail and you learn a lot about how to handle situations. I am grateful now to be doing my own thing! Thanks for the story!
Following you on insta and subscribing to your TH-cam was honestly the best decision ever. The ~drama~ the ~suspense~ So great. I loved every second of this video!
As a yarn dyer, I’m so upset this person did this to you! Clearly she shouldn’t be in business. Everything about this is indicative that she has some serious issues. So sorry you had to even waste your time and energy on her!
Wow! wow! wow! There is no accounting for weirdos. This would put me off from ordering from small yarners and dyers. I would be afraid. Very afraid. Great story.
That is just so bizarre...I agree that she must have confused you with someone else. And to treat someone who is trying to spend a significant amount of money in your shop?? What the WHAT?
From “yarn goblins and fiber trolls”, you had me sucked in! Who IS this guy? Thank you so much for your originality! You turned a crummy experience (at your own personal expense) into a fun holiday special that we can all identify with (I’m sure on both sides of the situation)! As a side, I hope to see ya at Rhinebeck in the future! 😊 take care!
Oh boy, that hobby lobby comment had me jaw dropped with my hand over my mouth. Great come back by the way. What a ghoulish yarny nightmare of an interaction. Happy belated Halloween (watching in November lol)
Fellow dyer here offering apologies on behalf of my craft. It’s embarrassing that that type of interaction is even a part of this business! I say it daily, if not weekly..” it’s YARN for Christ sake! “ As a newer member of this community I am in constant shock over the drama that exists surrounding yarn… It can sometimes also feel like the high school clique/ popularity contest with the almost weekly shift in trending product that does not justify the hype. “ sigh” I’ll be over here in my lane, doing my thing trying to stay out of the absurd unrelenting drama this art form can trap us in. Those deep insults speak to her character, not yours. People who speak that way are reeling internally. It took me 40 years to understand that and another 10 to actually believe it to the point where I can dismiss such verbal abuse as a reflection of that. Thanks for always keeping it light and positive! Love your podcast.
Ok we really do need more craft horror stories for Halloween. Just caught up with videos today and this is truly the best Halloween video I could of hoped to watch.
Oh my gosh, you had me laughing so hard, Christopher! The cut with the scene from Midsommar was excellent! Thank you for letting us laugh at your experience.
I’m whipping out my Cricut to make you a sash that says “Worst customer for one indie dyed in the United States 2022” Having trouble making it fit - it’ll have to hang down to your knees 😂
I know this must have been awful for you to experience but I’m sorry to say I was giggling all the way through your story. Love your story telling skills 😅❤
Wow.. i wish there was something i could say to make that situation better. But im still picking my teeth off the floor when my jaw dropped. Happy Halloween. Wish you the best.
Wow, that was epic! I too have worked service jobs and agree that people should do it at least once in their lifetimes. People who haven't worked service really have no idea how awful it is sometimes!
Wow! She needs help! Great story telling! I’ve had one bad experience with a dyer who sent my yarn late. It was yarn that she advertised for a knit along. She shipped the yarn well into the knit along and it arrived after the event was over. When I told her that I was not returning the yarn, but was disappointed to get the yarn so late, she lost her mind. She told me “you should have read my policy about not being responsible for any shipping delays.” I responded that I was not holding her accountable for post office delays, but in her shipping it late to begin with. She was a whack job. Thankfully all of my experiences with indie dyers besides that one have been nothing but kind and reasonable.
I audibly gasped when I heard that terrible comment. The literal audacity of that b**ch!!! How in the absolute world could someone say something so terrible??? Thank you for being so authentic to yourself and I think you are one of my absolute favorite people ever. 🦇🕸️🎃
Thank you for this amazing episode! I am so not a Halloween person, but this story absolutely made my day. Wish I knew who the dyer was but I guess the fun is in the suspense… 🎃
That was one spoooooky story, my friend!!! lol I'm sorry you had to go thru that and yes, everyone should do 3 years mandatory customer service...minimum! But most people wouldn't last a week, lol. And yes, I'm in customer service and can say that with a smile on my face bc I choose to be. Your podcasts rock, but you've outdone yourself on this one! 🧡🖤Happy Halloween.
Oh my gosh! That email to you--what in the world?! I've never met you in person but you are the nicest wonderful person and would be blessed to be your friend. Such a great story though and thank you for blessing our feed!
Oh my gosh Christopher, that is a horror yarn. I'm appalled that you were treated that way.The gaul of that person to say those things, I agree, a stint in customer service is must for all. I hope you found a nicer replacement with another indie dyer & you got a refund rather than having to use the coupon from this trainwreck of a business. I loved the way you told it, it was a good 'yarn'; Yarn in Australia is a word we for an entertaining story full of plot mystery, twists and turns
I was listening to your positively ghoulish Halloween story with rapt attention and shrieked out loud at the Hobby Lobby coup de grace … it’s a wonder I didn’t drop all the stitches in my knitting! You just have to shake your head at some people’s behaviour. By the way, I look forward to your podcasts and writings. Thank you for being such good company.
That’s truly horrific - what an absolutely unhinged email. I’m so sorry. You made a wonderful and 😱-inducing tale out of it, so there’s definitely that! Excellent podcast, thank you 😁.
First, so, so sorry for this experience! I too believe everyone should work at least some part of their career in customer service! 😅I have had some excellent customer service and some horrific customer service. I am in the customer service industry right now. For me, I have learned to use my words! And as always your words were exemplary! Hope you have found some yarn to substitute to make your Single Malt sweater!
Wow that’s an insane story. I would love to know the dyers thoughts on this. Like, did she actually confuse you with someone or what the hell was she thinking. As a shop owner myself I would never ever respond to a customers request like this.
I think she answered him while tanked on tranquilizers and cheap wine from Trader Joe's. Clearly, she confused Christopher with someone else. She also cheated him and then projected her dishonesty on to him once she realized she'd been caught selling his original order (the one she screwed up after forgetting about) in her online shop.
Wow! That is such a horrible experience and is completely ridiculous. I can't believe she was so horrible to you. I also think you have handled this with grace and dignity. Amazing too that you have not called this person out by name. You are a lot nicer than I would have been!
DdddddddAMNNNNNN Hobby Lobby!!!!!!! I feel like I need a skin graft after that burn… AND THE BURN RIGHT BACK???? Took my breath away. I’m gonna be in the burn unit at the hospital for a while
💀 hobby lobby 😭😭😭
“I’ll see you there”
I AM DECEASED
Hobby lobby?!?!?! Not even Joanns!? She had to go Hobby Lobby?!?!??!
I'm so sorry you went through all that. I appreciate the kindness you've given her by not naming names- I honestly don't think I would have been able to hold back, myself! I hope you found the yarn you needed for your sweater.
Ooooo, that was a spooky yarn story! Daaaang!
"Uhm, the call is coming from inside the house, babe" 😂😂😂😂 FOR REAL! I'm absolutely backing you on this one.
My fav line ever😂
Oh my goodness. This made my day. I’m behind on your podcasts, but I needed this spooky story today! 😂
First, pulling out the ~matching~ orange ipad for the Dramatic Reading. Iconic. 🎃
Second, The Dead is absolutely *unhinged*
Third, the final line of the email, and Your Response! I gasped, screamed, and cackled 🙀😹
(And a special mention for Eek 👻 who I hope will be making future appearances ✨)
I am dying to know who The Dead is. What an unpleasant person. Also, my first ad after finishing this video was for... Hobby Lobby.
You're a natural storyteller. Spooky and hilarious!
I am late to this party, but let me just say I cackled, I snorted, I HOWLED with laughter. And your final comment? What a scorcher of a burn.
OMG, this story was the scariest I've ever heard! It reminds me of a local dyer in Springfield. She's opened at least three storefronts at various times in the last 10 years, using local grant money, but is rarely open. The shade! ☠☠☠I'm deceased

Wow, I'm so sorry that happened to you but at the same time thankful for the story! Definitely got my popcorn out for this one. I've got somewhat of a horror yarn story as well but it's been so many years.. hmm perhaps one day I'll tell 😂
Wow. Hobby Lobby. And what a classy response.
This was the best. I am going to adopt 2 lines to my vocab from this: “the call came from inside the house” and the “hobby lobby” comment.
OMG Christopher!!! How awful of this person. So glad you have the amazing attitude and handle it like a PRO!!! The call came within the house -- hahahah... and Hobby Lobby!!! WOW and WOW!!! last email EPIC!!!!!

OMG THE HOBBY LOBBY INSULT. hahahahahahah you're right, that is the best ever fiber insult ever.
Best Halloween story ever!!
oooh my god, what a horror story !!!
Wow 😮……just wow…..
That was a WILD ride. The Hobby Lobby line (and your response!) absolutely sent me.
As horrible a your experience was, it was a great story, unbelievable and funny. You have used great restraint in not naming her.
Gina... slipped
@@maxx6050 I would be willing to bet that there is more than one “Gina” who dyes yarn😀
Following you on insta and subscribing to your TH-cam was honestly the best decision ever. The ~drama~ the ~suspense~
So great. I loved every second of this video!
This horrificly sad nightmare and your rendition... hilarious!!! So sorry you had to experience this 👻
As a yarn dyer, I’m so upset this person did this to you! Clearly she shouldn’t be in business. Everything about this is indicative that she has some serious issues. So sorry you had to even waste your time and energy on her!
Your last email had me in stitches 😂😂😂
Lol! That is one scary yarn story! The Dead is definitely unhinged 😂 hopefully you’re not off indie dyers.
Wow! wow! wow! There is no accounting for weirdos. This would put me off from ordering from small yarners and dyers. I would be afraid. Very afraid. Great story.
This was better than my grandma's soap operas.
That is just so bizarre...I agree that she must have confused you with someone else. And to treat someone who is trying to spend a significant amount of money in your shop?? What the WHAT?

Very clever telling of a horrible story. I'm sorry you experienced that.
I agree that everyone should work customer service.
I love your podcast. You are a great story teller.
Your recap is hilarious- we all have some story like this that is just cringe. Thank you for putting a humorous spin on it, Christopher!
OMG What a crazy person. Love the way you told the yarn. Thanks for the telling of it. Not being in the US I wouldn't be buying their yarn anyway.
I cracked up during this episode so many times! Spicy armpit hahaha I love listening to you’re stories!!
“ sigh”

I gasped at Hobby Lobby
Hobby Lobby line just about killed me! 😂
Ok we really do need more craft horror stories for Halloween. Just caught up with videos today and this is truly the best Halloween video I could of hoped to watch.
Of all places, the horror that is HOBBY LOBBY!!!!? Thanks for sharing your spooky story with us! I appreciate you!
This is one of the best stories I’ve heard in a long time. ❤
I wish that it was fiction. 😮😮
Your editing skills are EPIC! 👻
Excellent podcast!! Great finish! I laughed and laughed at your delivery of “hobby lobby”!
i absolutely adore this special, actually had me chuckling at some of the jokes!
That was a truly frightening story! 😮
This was effing epic! I loved every second… on the edge of my seat! The burn at the end… oh my heart… I’m howling lmao 🤣
Spooktacular horror story - thank you!❤😂
Oh my gosh, you had me laughing so hard, Christopher! The cut with the scene from Midsommar was excellent! Thank you for letting us laugh at your experience.
This was absolutely delightful. Thank you for giving me the laugh I needed today on a slow day. 😂😂😂
TERRIBLE that happened to you! She doesn’t deserve your knit 🙃 This story though…EPIC! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I’m whipping out my Cricut to make you a sash that says “Worst customer for one indie dyed in the United States 2022” Having trouble making it fit - it’ll have to hang down to your knees 😂
Come thru I Dream Of Jeanie! Love this sweater ❤
The HORROR LOBBY!!!!
Loved story time! That Hobby Lobby burn had me cackling so hard. May The Dead not haunt me.
Absolutely adored and loved that Hobby Lobby line!🧡🧶
I LOVE your storytelling!!😂
I know this must have been awful for you to experience but I’m sorry to say I was giggling all the way through your story. Love your story telling skills 😅❤
Wow.. i wish there was something i could say to make that situation better.

Wow, that was epic! I too have worked service jobs and agree that people should do it at least once in their lifetimes. People who haven't worked service really have no idea how awful it is sometimes!
Oh goodness. Hobby Lobby would have done me in too. Not to shade all the box stores. Have shopped and will shop Joanns when necessary.
Wow! She needs help! Great story telling! I’ve had one bad experience with a dyer who sent my yarn late. It was yarn that she advertised for a knit along. That was a terrifying journey into the dark side. Soo scary!!!
It was fiction , right? ….right?…..umm, wasn’t it?…… 😱
Hahaha thank you for this very scary story 😆
I audibly gasped when I heard that terrible comment. The literal audacity of that b**ch!!! How in the absolute world could someone say something so terrible???
Thank you for being so authentic to yourself and I think you are one of my absolute favorite people ever. 🦇🕸️🎃
I have my hot coco, heated blanket and sock WIP, and I’m ready for the Purlcast!
Thank you for this amazing episode! I am so not a Halloween person, but this story absolutely made my day. Wish I knew who the dyer was but I guess the fun is in the suspense… 🎃
We just all need to be more EEK and dance through life!
Holy crap! There are just no other words I can say.
🧡🖤Happy Halloween.
as a form of customer service, you should tell the world who it is... so we can all avoid them, forever. happy halloween dude ;)
Agreed. People like this need to be exposed. They'll keep cheating people until they suffer direct consequences for their actions.
Oh my gosh! That email to you--what in the world?! I've never met you in person but you are the nicest wonderful person and would be blessed to be your friend. Such a great story though and thank you for blessing our feed!

Too much! Totally enjoyed your nightmare story!
That’s truly horrific - what an absolutely unhinged email. I’m so sorry. You made a wonderful and 😱-inducing tale out of it, so there’s definitely that! Excellent podcast, thank you 😁.
The scariest thing of all - negative human interactions 😱 Excellent episode, thanks for sharing!!
Oh, no she didn't!! That is unhinged. So sorry you had that unpleasant interaction!
That was epic! Both amazing and horrible experience. Wow!
This is the best Halloween gift. Thank you. #unhinged
I work in costumer service for years and and that is just unprofessionalism far too much 😅 but your storytelling is off the charts ❤
First, so, so sorry for this experience! I too believe everyone should work at least some part of their career in customer service! 😅I have had some excellent customer service and some horrific customer service. Yes! That was spicy, ❤
You just made my week - I needed a laugh and I laughed out loud watching this. Thank you!
Oh my goodness!!! 🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣 this was awesome!!!
Whoah. That might give me nightmares. Happy Halloween! 🎃 (Love the scene change as well!)
Fantastic loved it 🎃 xx
Wow, she spent a lot of energy writing that email! It’s apparent that someone needs help and it ain’t you Christopher! Laughed my head off!
I love your little ghost-so cute! After all you went through, to have someone throw the “HL” insult, that’s a step too far! 👻
Hey Christopher! Awesome Halloween story!
I’m gonna be in the burn unit at the hospital for a while
Also I was watching this in a public place and really had to stifle a scream
You are hilarious ❤❤❤
I have to admit I have had a few of those myself
