@@moreenderdragon5739 The crafting of nanocarbon can be automated. The hard part is getting the raw resources, which is theoretically possible, but which may not be realistically possible.
The item canisters are going to save frame rate so much on console

11:54 Something cool I noticed is that the Frame-suits feet are the feet of a platform :)
Also I think they should have a slider in the control panel(s) that you can set the quantity of witch it makes along with an infinity mode.
the medium and large storage should also store gas. or, at the very least, have a gas equivalent.

I think it's a double mount on top of the extractor, so you can place a medium canister on top and bypass the arm/large canister to begin with

I can’t believe this video came out before the automation update trailer
The chem lab is not a bug making multiple items. They added that as a repeatable function to chem lab and i believe research chamber for more streamlined automation options. It was covered on the reveal stream.

You could make automated loadout stations so you walk into a spot and the arm fills your inventory with canisters or whatever you have stored on that platform. You could even do pre setup loadouts

Wait! You can make a huge warehouse with the large storages, and have filtered auto arms move it to a small silo in the front, and even have it load and take off stuff automatically when you drive a rover in!

Spent several hours last night cleaning up my original base. Still need to play with arms, thumper and sensors
You can put a medium storage on top of the thumper and it will auto deposit
You could use resource canisters as blacklist filters in automation of storage, so instead of only grabbing iron with an automated arm you could grab everything but iron.

The chemistry lab is meant to keep going because of the automation update. Imagine automatically making nanocarbon alloy
The thing with the chemistry station doing everything again and again is for automation to mass produce things.
Just casually here 8 months later to say that it is completely possible to automate the collection of EVERY NATURAL RESOURCE.
First instinct: create a fully automatic sorting base and refinery

Unless I'm mistaken, the Chem Lab got an update where you can stop the process of making things like the Smelter can. (It might have been the Atmospheric Condenser though.) That might be why it made graphene- The process was stopped at the beginning, so it had to finish to clear up the space.

Was hoping for a mine cart or lift of some sort, but I guess daisy chaining a bunch of arms from underground to the surface is doable.

Edit: Z needs to make a Astroneer version of a Minecraft AutoSorter
You can place the medium resource canister onto the extractor then all you need is some power.
You could have a line of arms going from the different resource storages and they just sit there with a resource ready and when you want certain items you can just walk into the arms to pick up that item!
Then walk in front of the arm to the printer and have it take the items from your backpack and start crafting.

Z1 please make a fully automated setup for nano carbon alloy as it can now be used for both rtgs and large storage canisters
for the arms what if you could change the area in which they pick items up from so that you could use the arm to collect resources from an entire larger platform. this is the only change that i would make.
For the death animation for Mr. Robo (I like to call him S.A.A.M.M, Super Awesome Astronautical Multifunctional Machine) anyway, his death animation makes his head spin super fast and it just, pops. His voice also gets super low and slows down when you do emotes.
I have a grand plan for this. When I bring my rover back in, im gonna have it pull everything off it, like how Tony could have his suit removed when he was walking into stark tower

you can just put the canister silo thing on the top of the wxcavator and it will put it in to it
I want to see a pile of med soil containers on a vehild, an arm to feed it into a centra to make clay for example, which is fed into a large container :)
You can use the arms to make a loading station for shuttles and rovers

a small thing i would love them to add it the ability to lock a resource canister so if it empty’s it will still only accept the locked resource

@@Tonatsi that is a partial solution, but if you have all your storage in a concentrated place it dosent work as when one empteys it then fills up with some other random item.

I can verify it is still broken. Minor connection problem to the host? Won't be able to reconnect unless the HOST reloads their save.

@Pinkamena Pie Z gets early access from upcoming updates, and in exchange he promote the game in his channel. And how do u know he didnt pay for the ingame currency to get that skin? And what if he get it from SystemEra as gift because he promote their game? Yeah. thats really "shady stuff" meh. And why even bother you? In your eyes probably all the promotional stuffs are shady, why dont you just leave if u dont like the content? Or make a channel, get 100k+ subs, and earn those type of support/promotions from game companies / developer teams...
Pinkamena Pie, it’s not shady that he gets early access to updates, he hasn’t been hiding it, and he’s just giving system era free advertising for their update :) and getting the suit is like a reviewer getting a dev key, he gets to show it off for free early as advertising
Pinkamena Pie, maybe that’s how you play astroneer, but personally for me paid cosmetics don’t affect progression that much cause I will still want to get the other cosmetics for completionist sake.
It would be really cool if they just recoloured the oxygen bar to yellow for the frame suit as though it is another power source
A “reason” (as they made it up on the fly) the developers gave during the livestream showcasing it is that the oxygen bar is liquified oxygen that’s being used to cool the robot. That explanation kinda works, in that the death animation for the robot has its head exploding (and thus the head “overheated”).
It’s just...well, I don’t know if liquid _oxygen_ is an ideal coolant. I want to say that’s a bad idea given how combustion-able oxygen is...but I can’t say for absolute sure.

nah the frame suit is in fact a drone programmed with very specific parameters.

*oxygen* does not really need it. is just programmed to think it does.
*food* not really important experiment is only about surviving other issues. (BUT there is food on the station, clearly someone is running an experiment)
power, clearly it has its own power source built in and on its own circuit
i did think of this earlier on due to how the player seemingly is just remade by the station if death happens or when you complete the game.

The next goal should be an actual base. You have all these holding and building factory clusters but no large scale base. About the largest thing I have seen is debrie.

Afaik the usual astroneer update delay is 3 days to 4 weeks
