5:14- The same neck ring was later worn by Smith in "All That Glitters" (enabling him to turn things into platinum by touch). Irwin Allen never wasted ANY of his props.
I remember watching this episode as a 12 year old, when it first aired. I thought, and still do, that this was one of the creepiest and atmospheric episodes of the first season. The black and white cinematography only enhances the eeriness of it. And the Robot's clever retort: "on this planet, WE are the aliens!"
Concur fully! I had nightmares over them. It looked like they were going to behead him! Here in Australia they stopped showing the B&W episodes once Colour tv started in 1975. So episodes like this developed a legendary status for me. When I finally watched it again the 2000's, it was exactly as I remembered it, EXCEPT for the spaceship. I had forgotten how creepy it was!
This kind of sucks. Will Robinson could've worked out a deal that could've benefitted his party as well as the 5th Dimensioners, gave them the chance to leave and all would've been well. Instead, Irwin Allen just wanted an excuse for a big explosion. So justice prevails for the Robinsons and Dr. Smith, but nobody else.
Similar makeup solution used in Star Trek. They didn’t need to make a working mouth or create a body. The glowing control system seems to have been recycled in The Keeper. The domes over Wills’s head look similar to the ones used for “The Cone Of Silence” from Get Smart. Budget constraints probably made a lot of decisions about props and costumes. This was still one of the best episodes though in terms of acting and story. Too bad they went in another direction after the first few episodes.
This episode had one of the creepiest Smith vibes going on. The way he lied and tried to lure the kids away definitely had a pedo vibe, (although Smith was trying to save his own neck, not after sex). I can see where they felt they had to change Smith’s character. If I were the parents, I would have killed Smith for this. It is beyond belief that he would be allowed to even be near the family after this!!
Perhaps the best episode.

They never reused the alien spaceship, as far as I know. That was a cool prop. Very unearthly looking!!
U can see the cable and feet on the robots bottom in that scene 😂
1:00 Yes we have. That's the ONLY shape a blip we've ever seen.

I thought this was one of the best first season episodes. The weird design of the spaceship. The creepy alien "floating heads".
This one scared the pee out of me when I was a 6 year old little kid.
That is a cool spaceship

these two Light bulbs Aliens reminds me of the Star Trek Episode Empath ❤🎉
This is the Classic Episode thats has DEVO aliens , Just like their classic Future Rock video Freedom of Choice 1980 ❤🎉
How many times did Smith directly try to ruin Will's life to save himself? (That's aside from using Will as a human shield when anything happens).
These beings look like the beings from a Star Trek episode.
More Outer Limits actually
Dig the cable and Bob May's legs @13:49
The Robot gets trashed -- not just de-power-packed -- a lot!
Those look like the same alien faces used in a Star Trek, episode.

"Bring back a small Robinson"
The Alien s Voice reminds me Of Robert Vaughn from Uncle
Talking Judy! Nice.
Irving Allen like so many must have been tapped into realities already known like with that episode
One can see Bob may's legs clearly LOL
If these aliens were frim the 5th Dimension, they would have known Myxleplick and Bat Mite.😂😂😂
These beings llook like beings from Star Trek.
I honestly don’t know how Smith survived beyond this episode!
If I were the Robinsons, I would have choked him out, by this point! This would have been the last straw!!
Because the Robinsons, especially Will are too forgiving of him.
The alien ship is dimensionally transcendent, just like the TARDIS... far bigger on the inside than on the outside!
6:21. Irving, your cat is a bigger ham than the ham that was eaten by the alien creature in "One Of Our Dogs Is Missing".
She's proud of it, too!
@@dwashbur Not a kosher cat I gather.
This is the one and only Episode of Lis
when Dr Smith is discovered it scared The Be Jesus out me ❤🎉
He was on Space Academy as the commander.
Very scary episode
Irvan Allen what a talent Man
Aww. You didn't point out the blooper at 13:50 where the Robot has human legs!
I honestly didn't notice it until you pointed it out!
LOL''
"Spocks brain" a la. Lost in space.
@@johnbockelie3899 Brain? What is Brain?
Yeah you can tell when he's walking or not
I hope it doesn't leave a ring around Smith's collar!
The whole time I was waiting for fifth dimension song, sweet blindness 😂
That ship COULD have been lifted up, up, and away on a beautiful, a beautiful Balloon!

That's one of the weirdest spaceships I ever saw on this show
One of the few props I never saw used again! This episode had the SciFi concepts I wish the rest of the series had kept.
@@Geezer-yf8hv perhaps b&w allowed the designers to use their imagination more? It was a great vessel. Of course reminded me of the Tardis. :)
💙⭐️☮️CONGRATULATIONS ON 2+K☮️⭐️💙
Those brains later show up on Star Trek episode. " the gamesters of.triskellion" the brains under the dome.
Dr. Smith was a surgeon/physical then ? What happened later ?
A total change of direction in the writing.
Obviously Will never watched Dr. Who or read Dune😮. 🤓😎✌🏻🚀
Also: Why didn't Maureen ask the Robot if his sensors had detected the alien ship??
Kind of like Hollywood really was
Reminds me of 5G
