I started listening to your show because you were talking about a person I had some interest in. Ever since then, I have just had interest in hearing you tell stories. I really love this show.
Great Trilogy Josh! I always like the way you throw humour in with the factual stuff. I had a Teacher way back in the Stoneage when I was a kid, Mr. Cook, fantastic teacher. He was always crackin’ wise so classes were fun. He told me that he threw in funny things because he felt that kids paid more attention waiting for the next crack-up. He said that they can’t help but learn something while focusing on what he was sayin’. He had a really valid point. Thanks for mentioning the movie “Shane” in the second instalment. That movie was my namesake. Good old Mom was watching it the night that I came along. I’m not sure if it was a sense of Justice or the fact that she had the hots for Alan Ladd…ugh! It was a real high time listening to the three episodes, as usual. I saved my comments until the end, which would explain the unusually lengthy spot of texting diarrhea going on here. Cheers and a big YEEHAW from Alberta, Canada. 🇺🇸🇨🇦
A few short comments 1) Ice-T toned down a couple notches. 2) I completely align with your greatest westerns of all time. 3) shared your link with several folks, really well done sir.
All I can say is I love ❤️ this shit. I guess all us guys when we were kids dreamed. Dream about being cowboys or gunfighters, I know I did. I just stumbled across your channel while doing the thumb thing. I drive many miles each week. I got you on. Thanks for doing what you do!, J.R
Another great episode I was hoping that you would do an episode on the Johnson County War. Are there any plans for future videos on other people from Wyoming in the wild west days? There's alot of videos about Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid here on TH-cam but not much on the rest of the gang such as Harvey "Kid Curry" Logan, Ben "The Tall Texan" Kilpatrick, Elzy Lay and William "News" Carver, George "Flat Nose" Curry. Was wondering if a video about one of them would be something you would be interested in doing.
My grandfather was born in northeast Texas in 1907 and the stories he told and stories told about him I assure you that part of Texas was not 'tame'. Smuggling whisky to the Rez was pocket money Pa Always called Oklahoma the nations always never heard him use Oklahoma always 'the nations'
I have always wondered why the settlers didn't do a little night riding their selves. They must have been a lot of immigrants. Who knew little about firearms. That said, I do not see vets who survived a deadly CW would have put up with this crap. Nate was a BA.
Great timing! Today I'm driving from Lake Shasta to Alta Sierra, CA and back. Just about 1,000 miles. Plenty of time to listen to all three episodes. Then I'll do it again on Audible. \m/ BB4L \m/

I rank Charlie Siringo right up there with Billy Breckenridge author of Helldorado, gaining him the same Dubious Accuracy as Siringo. Both were largely ineffective at whatever profession they chose, and both were much more enamored of themselves, than most of those who knew them and witnessed their Real Activities, when things began "Cooking Off" in their respective Neck Of The Woods. As far as "Heroes Of The Wild West" goes.....Once again they were just making it up as they went along. The vast majority of their Tales Of Daring Do, anyway. Breckenridge lived in Tombstone's era of Battling Factions, the Fight at the OK Corral, and the ensuing "Earp Vendetta Ride". Breckenridge at least Witnessed the actual events, in one way or another. Siringo, on the other hand was only to Witness and live during and be Witness to the End of "The Old Wild West". In short, he got there late and the Train had already Pulled Out, leaving Charlie, who could only watch, far behind.
Great job Josh you have me on the edge of my seat looking forward to the next installment and the final episode

So excited for this series.
Thank you for the new episode sir! I am currently listening while taking a break from studying for finals week!!
Thank you for listening. I'm no sir, though. Just Josh.

Good story once again.

I come from North East Texas.
Your correct on that area being lawless
Louis Lamour wrote a paper back on that area
My family had plenty of outlaws in it.
They use to say, it is more important to know where a man is going than where he has been
We came from bad places

I wondered how many listeners got the Uncle Joey Diaz reference. 🤣
So you don't have any sponsors on such an interesting and quality channel?
I'm the ugly girl at the dance
I will never understand why people refuse to discuss the massive vampire problem that plagued the Wild West.
I know! Scared of the truth, I think.
You mean dehydrated!!!
Frank was not a vampire.
Clearly he was a werewolf.
Obviously.
No such thing!

Maybe he was actually a werewolf but I guess we’ll never know

Just watched ' Heaven's Gate' , the movie. It seems the vigilante association literally got away with M#rder.
I haven’t seen that one yet but yeah they did

The ones where I say "let's take a break and hear from this episode's sponsor"?
