I would fill in around the pieces and leave it a little elevated. It will eventually work its way in. I did one from 1inch slate 15 years ago the pieces have practically disappeared.
We had our warm spell last week for about 2weeks excetra and we was in a stout but finally got rain and thunderstorms for last 3days but ya it was hot and stickey during the stout it was over 2weeks but anyways good to see McKenzie again godbless

Had you ever heard of "creamed peas on toast" you cook a sauce of flour and milk, add peas, then when the peas are cooked pore that over toast then salt and pepper to taste. It is a great summer time lunch. pretty basic but tastes good.

The Japanese beetles just started chewing on my garden this weekend in southern Michigan so you might want to keep an eye on your garden.
I've never had an issue with those bettles in my garden.
