My Mum (RIP) used to make them for us after coming home from school but hers were thicker. With 11 hungry mouth’s to feed she just stood by the pan as we eagerly waited for them to land on our plates and lashings of butter. Lovely memories. I’m going to do your thinner version and love the ham and egg version. 👏👏
I’m from the north of Ireland and I just call em potato bread and would usually be a square or triangle I prefer having em square with loads of butter and salt !
I'm an Aussie bush cook and never heard of 'em but you can bet they just got added to my repertoire! In return I offer a little trick in melting butter over the cook plate. Simply open the small end of the butter block and peel the foil back a bit then hold the wrapped part of block in your hand while rubbing the open bit on the hot pan. It'll melt off easily. Very neat, very tidy, and leaves you a free hand for your glass of beer!

These look delicious!! 🤩 and the video was really informative and sussinct (and also funny!). Thank you.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
They look good, I normally have mine a bit thicker and grilled a bit darker, but I’ll try your method next time, thanks for sharing.
No problem. Thanks.
