Thx for the video.. trying to make sense what model to go for here from Denmark. they are around the same price... if I get the flymore package from DJI EU site or I purchase it from China like BG etc. more or less same price Only thing that varies are the CE vs FCC version. Im left with the feeling that the CE version support both 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz.. whereas the FCC from fx China are only 5.8ghz so that makes you wonder if you are on a CE model and then take a trip to USA with it... will you not then get the full 5.8ghz benefit as it will see you are in FCC region 5.8ghz If that is the case.. then CE model seems optimal as you will on that one get the 2.4ghz band. but im new to DJI... only two GPS quad I got is these. Apparently it's not possible because the CE version lacks a small chip in the wi-fi module. According to photos that have appeared on the net the past few days
@@QuadricotteroN I think its not that simple. Yes EU version lack SKY746 but has two different chips (2,4 and 5,8) and one of them can be amplified. Probably 5,8GHz chip because result of your test and higher output with fake gps in USA. So I still belive :). Maybe you have better informations Im not Chip expert :).

Yes the map shows the real position. As soon as it takes off it updates the home point in the real position and so everything works correctly, even the RTH

If it can be useful I have carried out a short test in safety flying over desert campaigns with not perfect weather and I confirm that the Mavic Mini in CE mode on the 2.4 GHz without any Forcing FCC has guaranteed me good signal up to about 1.9Km. I have a curiosity, you believe that this trick for the ‘FCC forcing’ that you illustrated for the Mavic Mini can also be used for the Mavic 2 PRO (even if the ocusync 2 is already fantastic in CE too) ?

Libre Pensées you can do it only by attaching to the iPhone with Xcode, there are tutorials online. Might be easier to use a friend’s android to do it once and then follow the procedures in this video to keep it in FCC mode

i noticed that by using my iphone after the fake gps with android, the iphone always puts the transmission channels on “manual” and my android is on “auto” so in my opinion is this trick useless by using an iphone... another question: can i see anywhere after take off if the drone t is in the “fake gps” mode? thanx for reply!

Hi, thanks. Unfortunately I still haven't found a way to check trhough DJI Fly if the Mavic Mini US is in FCC or not. If you take off and land only with RC you no longer need the fake GPS after the first time. Just take off immediately as soon as rc connects with the mavic mini.

@@Juacalvo Yes the second part is correct. The US version has only 5.8 GHz channels. The 2.4 channels are not displayed. Thus it is impossible to know whether we are in FCC or not

what if mavic mini air craft EU model pairing with mavic mini remote control US model, is it can be done ? actually what is exactly different with that 2 models of mavic mini ? the hardware is different or the firmware different?
The FCC transmitter has the ability to transmit the output and be fooled it is still in the US when in Europe. The CE version cannot increase its output if flown in the US without an external 2.4 / 5.8Ghz amplifier but then you will find the CE version drone won't have its output to send video back. In this scenario the best way (not tried yet) may be range extenders which fit round the aerials.

if the problem is due to a metal mass present in the take-off point, once it has taken off, it should go away on its own. If it is present at any take-off point it is absolutely necessary to calibrate.

Hi, a simple forgetfulness because by default the map is not displayed. If the home point were in the USA the distance indicated by the telemetry would be thousands of km. Instead, as you can see, it is correct. Furthermore fake gps can be deactivated after takeoff. In any case as soon as the mavic mini takes off it fixes the home point correctly, it's something that everyone can verify by doing the same operations as the video.

I also really hope that DJI would not "fix" this in future update, because it would be easy to program the firmware to get GPS coordinates while the drone is flying and lower the power since it realized it's not in the US....
The drone gps position already counts, but the application makes the change. It is not done when in flight for safety reasons. Of course the DJI with the next updates could correct it.
@@QuadricotteroN If they "fix" it we might see a lot of crashed drones due to lowered power in flight. I think DJI would not risk it. Hardware/software permanent mod is the way to go. Can you share where you found the disassembled board pictures and the chip differences?

Salve Quadricottero News, la mia ragazza è Americana e ha un Drone Mini Mavic Usa, qui ovviamente è limitato nemmeno a 500 metri ha problemi mentre da Lei faceva tranquillamente 25oo metri, ho provato a eseguire questi passaggi, probabilmente sbaglio qualcosa....è possibile che a Dji abbiano bloccato la procedura e ora non è piu possibile..grazie

@@salvatoretamponi6129 No, è giusto che compaia la mappa perchè appena decolla fa il punto home reale. In questo modo in caso di RTH non torna in america ma nel vero punto da cui è decollato. Una volta decollato però per motivi di sicurezza non fa più il cambio wi-fi e quindi rimane in FCC. Se nelle tue prove arriva solo a 500m non hai fatto bene la procedura. Segui bene il video e riprova

Hi, it works because the return point is stored on the drone when it takes off. the RTH is configured by default to return to the take-off point and when you turn off the r/c the drone returns

when the mavic detects a different region with regard to the regulations on radio powers, it adjusts the power and channels of the wifi according to the rules of the place where it is flying. This is why the wi-fi change message appears

Comunque giusto per conoscenza, ritornando al discorso di ieri riguardo Fake gps Japan, noi e loro abbiamo la stessa radio con la stessa erogazione di potenza, la differenza è che a loro si attiva solo la 2.4 ghz con soli 9 canali e non 13 ( non hanno la 5.8 ghz sulla radio) quindi penso che l'esclusione della 5.8 ghz sia gestita da FW. Mentre quella Usa (FCC) è uguale a quella Chinese ( SRCC) ed entrambi hanno solo i 5.8 ghz. a differenza degli Usa, ai Cinesi si abbassa di un pelino la potenza, ( parliamo di 2 decibel in meno) ma anche questo penso che sia gestito dal Fw o Sw limite che anch'esso si può raggirare facilmente con Fake gps, Ecco perchè sarei curioso di capire cosa succede facendo fake in Japan, quante frequenze e canali si attiveranno?
..alla fine, se si vuole un drone FCC è inutile comprarlo in Usa, visto che li si pagano le spese doganali e Iva. ( almeno spero che sia così) sono solo scambi di idee che ho fatto con qualche amico Giapponese.

Ciao, le prove CE / FCC con il Mavic Mini EU/USA, sono state fatte fuori dall'Italia ma comunque in una località dove la modalità di partenza si settava in europea. Corretto quanto dici, la versione USA quando vola in Europa se viene forzata in FCC può raggiungere quelle distanze che poi sono quelle ufficiali dichiarate dalla DJI.
Allora Danilo ti voglio dire una cosa ti assicuro che il mini ce messo in fcc copre distanze pari a quello fcc se non superiori, presto posterò dei video prova, con la differenza che con il ce si ha molta più scelta di canali che non è per niente una cosa da sottovalutare, hai fatto molti test, ma sul mare oltre 3km li fa anche il mini in 2.4, dai tuoi test fai capire che il modello fcc copre distanze molto superiori a quello ce e questa cosa è errata, in questo modo abbagli la scelta di molti utenti eludendoli a fare la scelta di comprare un drone fuori Europa, con la promessa che avranno il doppio del segnale, mentre si ritroveranno con un drone che più o meno copre le solite distanze con problemi di garanzia e a breve sarà anche fuori la direttive europee.
Queste sono prove svolte a pari condizioni. Le potenze misurate dimostrano che la versione CE messa in FCC con fake gps ha la stessa potenza di quella USA usata come si trova. Ma se la versione USA la mettiamo in FCC con fake gps aumenta la potenza. E' molto più potente. Se poi con un Mini CE in particolare condizioni riesci a fare lo stesso range tanto meglio, ma normalmente è così come abbiamo mostrato.
Il resto delle considerazioni e cioè che è sconsigliato per motivi legali, regolamento europeo etc le ho già fatte nei video precedenti. Questo è un video per i follower stranieri che ne volevano sapere di più.
@@Anto124 il vero test non è sul mare ma in posti comuni a noi dronisti, farò vedere come il mini ce in fcc riesce anche con l aiuto del 2.4 ad arrivare benissimo dove arriva il mini fcc
alessandro flamingo considero credibile la tua teoria, sul mare in campo aperto e la 5.8 a piena potenza può fare la differenza, ma in scenari urbani la 2.4 più efficace rispetto alla 5.8 con ostacoli potrebbe risultare allo stesso livello della 5.8 anche se portata in FCC americana
Abbiamo ricevuto tante richieste per fare almeno un video sulla questione in inglese. Se questo non è sufficientemente chiaro e se ci saranno riichieste lo possiamo rifare in italiano. Una cosa simile l'avevamo fatta per la prova del Parrot Anafi FPV.

Ciao per farlo atterrare basta che tieni tutto in basso lo stick del gas, quello di sinistra se voli in mode 2.

Hello. Your videos are fabulous. One question. How can I know if I am in FCC full power after make the trick? Is there any way to check on DJI Fly? Second question. If I have done the fake-gps trick one time in my home, then, if I am a IOS user, the next time I want to fly, I have to take off only with the RC but, ¿have I to do it on a Non-gps place? When the dron is flying, then I can connect DJI Fly on Iphone or Ipad, it's ok? Thanks
Hi, thanks. Unfortunately I still haven't found a way to check trhough DJI Fly if the Mavic Mini US is in FCC or not. If you take off and land only with RC you no longer need the fake GPS after the first time. Just take off immediately as soon as rc connects with the mavic mini.

@@Juacalvo Yes the second part is correct. The US version has only 5.8 GHz channels. The 2.4 channels are not displayed. Thus it is impossible to know whether we are in FCC or not

Yes, as soon as it takes off it updates the home point in the real position and so everything works correctly, even the RTH

The FCC transmitter has the ability to transmit the output and be fooled it is still in the US when in Europe.
The CE version cannot increase its output if flown in the US without an external 2.4 / 5.8Ghz amplifier but then you will find the CE version drone won't have its output to send video back. In this scenario the best way (not tried yet) may be range extenders which fit round the aerials.

if the problem is due to a metal mass present in the take-off point, once it has taken off, it should go away on its own. If it is present at any take-off point it is absolutely necessary to calibrate.

Después de la primera vez, siempre tendrá que despegar y aterrizar con la aplicación cerrada o el teléfono desconectado. De lo contrario, podría reiniciarse y disminuir la potencia. En este caso, tendrá que rehacer el procedimiento con fakegps

Hi, a simple forgetfulness because by default the map is not displayed. If the home point were in the USA the distance indicated by the telemetry would be thousands of km. Instead, as you can see, it is correct.
Furthermore fake gps can be deactivated after takeoff. In any case as soon as the mavic mini takes off it fixes the home point correctly, it's something that everyone can verify by doing the same operations as the video.

Se avesse anche la 2.4 si capirebbe dal numero di canali 11 FCC 13 CE
I also really hope that DJI would not "fix" this in future update, because it would be easy to program the firmware to get GPS coordinates while the drone is flying and lower the power since it realized it's not in the US....
The drone gps position already counts, but the application makes the change. It is not done when in flight for safety reasons. Of course the DJI with the next updates could correct it.
@@QuadricotteroN If they "fix" it we might see a lot of crashed drones due to lowered power in flight. I think DJI would not risk it. Hardware/software permanent mod is the way to go. Can you share where you found the disassembled board pictures and the chip differences?

Ciao sono preoccupato.. Quando si vola con il mini nel telefono in basso in centro c'è il simbolino bianco di come è posizionato il drone rispetto alle antenne (o viceversa). Come mai nel mio rimane un simbolino rosso e lampeggia? Devo preoccuparmi, è la prima volta che lo uso. Grazie.

@@salvatoretamponi6129 No, è giusto che compaia la mappa perchè appena decolla fa il punto home reale. In questo modo in caso di RTH non torna in america ma nel vero punto da cui è decollato. Una volta decollato però per motivi di sicurezza non fa più il cambio wi-fi e quindi rimane in FCC. Se nelle tue prove arriva solo a 500m non hai fatto bene la procedura. Segui bene il video e riprova

Hi, it works because the return point is stored on the drone when it takes off. the RTH is configured by default to return to the take-off point and when you turn off the r/c the drone returns

What do you mean with WiFi change message?
when the mavic detects a different region with regard to the regulations on radio powers, it adjusts the power and channels of the wifi according to the rules of the place where it is flying. This is why the wi-fi change message appears

Comunque giusto per conoscenza, ritornando al discorso di ieri riguardo Fake gps Japan, noi e loro abbiamo la stessa radio con la stessa erogazione di potenza, la differenza è che a loro si attiva solo la 2.4 ghz con soli 9 canali e non 13 ( non hanno la 5.8 ghz sulla radio) quindi penso che l'esclusione della 5.8 ghz sia gestita da FW. Mentre quella Usa (FCC) è uguale a quella Chinese ( SRCC) ed entrambi hanno solo i 5.8 ghz. a differenza degli Usa, ai Cinesi si abbassa di un pelino la potenza, ( parliamo di 2 decibel in meno) ma anche questo penso che sia gestito dal Fw o Sw limite che anch'esso si può raggirare facilmente con Fake gps, Ecco perchè sarei curioso di capire cosa succede facendo fake in Japan, quante frequenze e canali si attiveranno?
..alla fine, se si vuole un drone FCC è inutile comprarlo in Usa, visto che li si pagano le spese doganali e Iva. ( almeno spero che sia così) sono solo scambi di idee che ho fatto con qualche amico Giapponese.

Ciao, le prove CE / FCC con il Mavic Mini EU/USA, sono state fatte fuori dall'Italia ma comunque in una località dove la modalità di partenza si settava in europea. Corretto quanto dici, la versione USA quando vola in Europa se viene forzata in FCC può raggiungere quelle distanze che poi sono quelle ufficiali dichiarate dalla DJI.

Allora Danilo ti voglio dire una cosa ti assicuro che il mini ce messo in fcc copre distanze pari a quello fcc se non superiori, presto posterò dei video prova, con la differenza che con il ce si ha molta più scelta di canali che non è per niente una cosa da sottovalutare, hai fatto molti test, ma sul mare oltre 3km li fa anche il mini in 2.4, dai tuoi test fai capire che il modello fcc copre distanze molto superiori a quello ce e questa cosa è errata, in questo modo abbagli la scelta di molti utenti eludendoli a fare la scelta di comprare un drone fuori Europa, con la promessa che avranno il doppio del segnale, mentre si ritroveranno con un drone che più o meno copre le solite distanze con problemi di garanzia e a breve sarà anche fuori la direttive europee.
Queste sono prove svolte a pari condizioni. Le potenze misurate dimostrano che la versione CE messa in FCC con fake gps ha la stessa potenza di quella USA usata come si trova. Ma se la versione USA la mettiamo in FCC con fake gps aumenta la potenza. E' molto più potente. Se poi con un Mini CE in particolare condizioni riesci a fare lo stesso range tanto meglio, ma normalmente è così come abbiamo mostrato.

Il resto delle considerazioni e cioè che è sconsigliato per motivi legali, regolamento europeo etc le ho già fatte nei video precedenti. Questo è un video per i follower stranieri che ne volevano sapere di più.
@@Anto124 il vero test non è sul mare ma in posti comuni a noi dronisti, farò vedere come il mini ce in fcc riesce anche con l aiuto del 2.4 ad arrivare benissimo dove arriva il mini fcc
alessandro flamingo considero credibile la tua teoria, sul mare in campo aperto e la 5.8 a piena potenza può fare la differenza, ma in scenari urbani la 2.4 più efficace rispetto alla 5.8 con ostacoli potrebbe risultare allo stesso livello della 5.8 anche se portata in FCC americana

Abbiamo ricevuto tante richieste per fare almeno un video sulla questione in inglese. Se questo non è sufficientemente chiaro e se ci saranno riichieste lo possiamo rifare in italiano. Una cosa simile l'avevamo fatta per la prova del Parrot Anafi FPV.
