Just adding to what you said, understanding how accruals and deferrals work in the actual world. I struggled a lot during my first few months as an asst accountant to understand how it happens, basically the calculations and what part of revenues get deferred and what costs are accrued, though I had an accounting degree and understood accrual accounting.

Ask questions, be eager to learn. Ask your supervisors for more task and more task…be reliable. Gain the experience and skills, up your education and move on to another company that requires your skillset. And the cycle repeats itself…always be willing to learn.
