Hi Tomboy. I've rode one and I nearly bought one but the shop sold it back in 2023 so I ended up with the RE 650 Super Meteor. Now my grandson has the 650 Volcan S. The cheeky monkey gets the hammer down then when I finally catch him up he says.... What's up Gramps, stopped for a cuppa! Great bike for cruising on, handles great in the tight country roads and it can shift when it needs to! Ride safe and see you in the next one 👍😊...
Thanks for a great review :) I feel a lot more confident that I have a suitable bike for my needs for my return to biking after too many years away. I shall look forward to seeing more of your vids.
Hit the nail on the head! I love my Vulcan, I am not a huge fan of riding modes or a super complicated electronics, it’s nice and simple but still modern enough, in my opinion it’s a perfect balance. I’m a bigger guy and the stock seat was no good after about an hour, however an aftermarket seat from CORE MOTORCYCLES has made a huge difference! Only other alteration I made was a new LED bulb for the headlight because stock is pretty terrible 😂 wicked video! I’m glad to see someone else loving this bike!
Great intro. Finding it fun to ride and forgetting to film says it all. I've never ridden forward or even half forward controls. My old 1999 Suzuki Intruder has floorboards and like you said Deimante "it's nice to stand and ride". I think you will enjoy the Versys when you get a chance and it can get off of asphalt too. Have a good weekend (at Mint).
Oh dear Dei... of course we think of Cruisers when we think of Kawasaki. You have given your young age away! The famous VN1500-B Vulcan from the early 90s that is still a sought after model today, and has it's own Vulcan Owners Rider Club. These big V twin cruisers are so comfy to ride... It would make a trip from Colchester to Vilinius seem like a ride to Norwich and back. Over the years, there have been many different Vulcans, from 800 - 1700cc and the Eliminator's were also Cruiser models. The 800cc Vulcan was and still is very versatile and popular for building Bobbers. So, I hope I have helped with this little bit more of information for you.
I’ve owned a vulcan for almost 3 years. Rode her through all kinds of backroads in Europe and loved it. Got almost 25k kilometers on the dash. Last april I traded her in for a versys 1000. Even though I’ve had mixed feelings at the beginning, oh my f’ing god. Uncomparable but what an upgrade
The Vulcan is my first and only bike (so far) for six years now. Getting ready to change but only for something different rather than any dissatisfaction with the bike. I’ve only ever ridden forward controls but the Vulcan is not an aggressive forward at all. Great review, thanks!
Hello Tomboy. You can’t show it there but I will say it here in the US. I have had my Vulcan S up at 100 Mph. I don’t recommend driving that fast. it does get a little bit Squirrley at that speed. Love your channel. Thank you for all the reviews.
Great detailed review. I really like the updates to its looks. Seen on dealer website an amazing looking colour, "Pearl Sand Khaki/Ebony" I will definitely go check one out. Cheers
I’m a new rider and considered the Kawasaki Vulcan for my first bike however I decided to play it safe and bought the Kawasaki Eliminator instead. Need to practice my riding skills and gain the confidence to move up to the Vulcan in the next few years.
That Eliminator is awesome and you may end up staying with it over a heavier bike. Great choice either way considering the Vulcan is still exceptionally light for a cruiser. Kawasaki just keeps nailing it.
I have owned one for five and a half years you were spot on with your review. Athough, the power and torque round the wrong way. Tail tidy, exhaust, and footboards are a must👍🏻
I love my KVS. You mentioned the seat, and I had a similar experience. The stock seat is not good. Here in the US, I purchased a Corbin after market seat. I was able to improve from 2 hours riding to riding all day long with no issues.
Tomboy Really appreciate your reviews. I don’t believe you have reviewed the new 2024 Kawasaki eliminator 500/450. I am an older rider now, so I really appreciate the lighter weight of the Eliminator and its horsepower per pound ratio is even better than the 650 Vulcan S so it performs quite well. As long as you use the higher RPMs still has quite a bit of grunt on the bottom I really like it. It reminds me of some of the old British bikes that I rode. When I started to ride they had about the same power to weight ratio of the Elminator and it has the foot pegs in the standard position with a slightly lean forward handlebar position. Looking forward to your future reviews .
My first big bike after my 125, a brilliant stop gap till my XSR900... which I sold as it was mental! 😂 Now on Triumph Bobber. Fond memories of the Vulcan
Nice & fair review, Yup the seat is not great for long rides, but fixable , I have a KVS also on my channel I've done videos on upgrading it for touring if you're interested 😀
Awesome Review. Ive always been interested in the Vulcan S because its the same everything as my 2013 versys 650. If you get the chance to take a versys out it would be interesting to hear what you think if basically the same bike just a bit different shape.
When it comes to Vulcans I think about how Kawasaki screwed over the public back in the early 2000s I think it was doing a silent recall on the bikes back then because the had used a plastic oil pump gear that they later found out would fail from the heat cycles of the motor and since it was a silent recall many people got screwed and ended up with Vulcans with grenaded motors earning Kawasaki a much deserved reputation.
Yeah that'd be awesome. They had the Vulcan 900 classic but for some reason they seemingly just stopped making them, atleast in Europe as far as I can tell. I do like this bike, I own one, but yeah 900c would be sweet
It's an ugly bike to look at, there are not many if, any colour options and this one I don't like. But, it is a Kawasaki and that says a lot... a good bike and reliable, with a nice exhaust sound (as most Kawa's have).
Kawasaki have a history of putting non-typical engines in their cruisers e.g. Ltd 1000 and 1100s with Zed engines or even the EN 500, with the GPZ 500S engine.
Same old Vulcan 650. Weird HEADLIGHT, Bad TAIL & REAR fender part design, bad EXHAUST design, GROUND clearance is TOO HIGH and hard to lower that since it also has a WEIRD STYLE of suspension system. If KAWA wanted to make a cruiser bike with a touch of sport, they should have taken FXDR HARLEY as a REFERENCE. Vulcan 650 is JUST WEIRD.
Hahaha, it's niche for sure, but that's why I love it. Comfy, peppy, and light. Great for those who want a cruiser style without all the weight. Can be used as a daily commute, and subjectively good looking. Seems to be an either love it or hate it bike, but seriously you can't go wrong with the vulcan.
@@tomboyabit - "Asking for a friend." lol, great reply. Keep up the stellar work. It's actually a bonus to get great reviews/top rate video production and have an attractive, knowledgeable and experienced rider presenting. Don't change a thing. [This is the last time I'll, simp/white-knight but it was necessary considering I've seen cheesy female rider efforts.]
Not everyone wants a giant obnoxious Harley (or pay the price) It's a very approachable bike for smaller riders with its weight and seat height. It's peppy and fun to ride. Good for a daily commute. There's loads of people who love this bike and their opinions are valid. Motorcycles are motorcycles. I'm not sure why you're trying to sex gate them? Like people come in different shapes and sizes, have different tastes, and motorcycles are awesome. Let people enjoy things dude.

My favourite brand. Some 35 years ago, started with eliminator 250. After ninja 250. ER6. Z750S. Z300. All so nice....❤

Kawasaki used to offer a range of options with the pegs, so that it could be fitted to the rider's preference. Not sure if this is still the case?
Yes, I mentioned that in the video. You can move them three different positions

I think the dials from 650 RS would really suit this bike.
In the beginning you had the bike stand on the left… the last shots the bike has the stand on the right what happened 🤣🥂❤️
This bike needs a redesign or an update. Wouldn’t mind a 900cc version of this motorcycle.
