one thing about Singapore is that they have hawker centres near their home, so they have cheaper choices. For Hong Kong, we don't have much cheaper choices. Even if you eat at shops in wet market in Hong Kong, they are not as cheap as Singapore hawker centres
Agree, HK’s food centres are different, maybe still high rent, and not so many choices.
Singapore 🇸🇬 Cafe or cha chan tang Can Survive if their food prices are cheap and reasonable as depends on the Location Surroundings, especially if there are any Nearby Competing Coffee shops nearby or Hawker centres too.

其實香港食午飯都要睇地區，觀塘相對較便宜，如果係港島區就算大家樂的價錢也貴很多。

價錢差不多一樣 但係香港的野大份好多 新加坡的細細份 男人根本食唔飽

新加坡啲hawker centre有好多不同食檔，選擇多，比香港便宜很多。依家香港好多區食個午餐同晚餐，貴了很多啦，連杯飲品下下都超過80/90元😢
But why would Singaporeans want to restrict diet to Hawker centers? When Singaporeans meet up with friends. We always go to restaurants. Also, not every Singaporeans go Hawker Centers for lunch as the air circulation may not be good and clothes will smell after. There is no service for Hawker centers whereas HK teahouse does provide service. Since years ago, i realised SG restaurant prices have exceeded those in HK.
@@Stat8989 There are cheaper alternative than hawker center as there are local kopitiam to get food. And you can't go restaurants or cafes 24/7 otherwise the cost incurred will be higher than HK.
Besides in the past HK has 大排档 stalls which able to provide quick and cheap food to Hongkongers but due to an outdated and incompetent ruling, there are going to extinct in the near future..
@@nicholaswoof88 yes. The point is sg prices are getting very expensive. Many people keep saying sg food prices is low is misleading. Unless we restrict to eating at hawkers centers, our prices are high. 10% service charge + ever increasing gst.

HK and Malaysia also will increase their GST in the near future. Singapore gonna increase to 9% not 10% ... Unless you able to accept Canadian's 14.9995% GST
@@nicholaswoof88 hk n malaysia may increase or implement but sg is definitely. Also. U can't compare to places where they charge over 10% as they are considered welfare society. Sg is not. U can't compare an orange to an apple.

一般单身上班族不一定会每天去吃餐厅，何况是有家庭的人。这里只是说大部分，看看午餐时间在CBD的Hawker和Food Court还有餐厅比较就好了。香港的话就不确定😮
有些香港同事選择用餐地点一定要有冷气。向新加坡，有冷气既餐厅一般都会比冇冷气的餐厅贵。

would love to interact with foreigners. Anyway communication wise should've no problem because most Singaporeans
can speak dialects and you can speak Cantonese to them if they are from this dialect group.
新加坡吃早餐虽然贵，但是，由于新加坡人大多数都会出国或者吃风。唔米去马来西亚就是去印尼巴淡小岛，出了巴淡还有好多近新加坡的印尼小岛。Hotel好低好好消费。出去了新加坡好象作皇帝个生活。过瘾就去国外Spa,吃好料餐餐都可以山珍海味，没好悔。是一下吧，人生苦短，去享受一下啦。

In recent years, I mostly work from home. The coffee shop just across my block offers cheap food but with long queues. I normally either eat early or order the food around 11 am & collect it later. On the odd days that I have to be in the office, the food court is expensive. But occasionally, since I'm seldom in the office, I indulge in retaurants like Tsui Wah/Din Tai Fung/Hans/Canton Paradise.

Yes, in HK there’s Toast Box and you can have kaya toast and half boiled eggs .. you have to say that you want half boiled eggs as Hongkongers eat fried eggs (they want the eggs fried, maybe afraid of bird flu).

Yes, Toast Box in hk default is fried eggs. You need to say that you want soft boiled eggs.
幾年前去坡坡玩，在車站旁food court食咖央 + 凍咖啡，3.5坡幣好抵食。反而香港一份早餐太大份，食完食唔到 lunch
Haha hawker centre/ coffee shop/ food court真係抵！香港茶餐廳嘅早餐似brunch份量
香港D嘢偏大分。有時一套餐可以兩人食
I Can Suggest that you Must have Breakfast at your Housing Estate Town Centre Coffeeshop as you might the able to see observe the Singapore 🇸🇬 Bus Interchange 🚌 Station if its inside the Integrated Transport Hub (ITH).
Bedok ITH is a Very Good Example of Bus Interchange 🚌 as its Big Airconditioned and Bus Parking slots are Slanted about 45° angles which can Easily handle the biggest Bus 🚌 such as Articulated Bendy bus and 3 Doors Double decker buses 🚌.
請不要用香港茶餐廳和星加坡hawker centers 比較。hawker center 是沒有冷氣，木椅坐多一分鐘都背痛。

係香港通常舊區舊舖先會食到平野, 英治年代有租金管制, 又公共屋村街市保護基層, 所以都唔駛擔心物價, 係變左中國殖民地先大幅加租, 收樓起商場平價選擇變得少左......

Whenever I'm in HK, I eat at both expensive or cheaper places (depending on the locations). I may eat at TST, Jordan/Yau Ma Tei, Mong Kok, Kowloon Tong, Causeway Bay or even New Territories or North Point. S'pore hawker centres & coffee shops are cheaper. But things are getting more expensive.
Things really get more expensive on both both places

講少咗新加坡到處有 ‘食閣’ 豐儉由人，每人每日廿蚊坡紙攪掂，而且係幾豐富果隻。隻
有次入咗間大學食閣，夫婦兩人食一碟飯，用咗坡紙三元，係兩個都食飽嘅。算喺廿年內最平的午啦。（見碟餸飯都好多，唔想浪費）
发觉香港人最近很钟意同新加坡比较..连骂特首都要拉埋我地的龙哥来讲...
两个都好贵的城市比都没意思呀!

Cannot compare this way. Need to eat same item eg pork vs pork or chicken vs chicken. Also aircon places all different pricing depending on location. Not accurate comparison

eating food in sg is much in sg, more expensive than hk and sg is getting worst ! recently two coffeeshops were each sold for more than sgd 40,000,000 (hkd 250million) ! the food prices selling here to customers will go crazy , unless sg want to do food charity for customers which is not possible !

如果手裏有點緊，其實午餐晚餐在咖啡店/小販中心吃。麵類，飯類可以在新幣五塊，飲料兩塊以内，一餐可以在七塊吃到。就是環境沒那麽舒服，沒有冷氣空調。
只要一天有1-2餐吃hawker centre/ coffee shop, 就肯定比香港的便宜

The variety is good and the portion is big
One of the coffee shops at bedok or New upper Changi road selling the same kind of breakfast that u had at $2.5 per set. So it is the same pricing once you minus out the difference

Why keep comparing? If you are earning S$ then you have that country's purchasing power.
I normally visit Hong Kong in winter. Whenever I order乾炒牛河 or rice, the portion is very large. The food is enough for 2 persons. I'm wondering do Hongkongers eat so much? In HK, McDonald's is cheaper than S'pore. But their regular drinks (Coke or Cola as HK calls it) are too tiny. But I like 凍檸茶 in HK. S'pore can't do it that well.

Some Singaporean really selfish and stingy.
It is still the most affordable place to eat. You just have to indulge lesser in the more "premium" choices.
Malaysia and Indonesia definitely cheaper.... Possibly a good place to live.

Eating out in Hong Kong is not cheap. The chain-restaurants like Tsui Wah, Fairwood, Cafe de Coral etc though without GST are rather expensive. HK's ordinary office workers during lunch hours can't find cheap food. The cheaper Cha Chann Tengs are found in far-flung places. Though in Central/Shueng Wan, there is a cheap food stall. The queues are too long for them. Due to world-wide inflation, S'pore & HK are getting expensive.
Yes and even Cafeteria shops Must order a Small side dish even for just a Cup of Coffee or Hong Kong Milk Tea.
Singapore 🇸🇬 has the 5% GST included too.
Understand that HK salaries are generally higher than SG salaries for the same job functions.

Not surprising cos HK "imports" most food from China cities next door so only pay for land transport, but Singapore pays air freight costs and a premium so that exporters are willing to sell to a smaller market that has no economies of scale to them. The Singapore government can consider merging with Malaysia again, like how HK is part of China, then food costs would be cheaper. 😄

Heard that you pay full bus fare in HK irregardless of distance whereas in SG is based on distance lor.

In Singapore low income Singaporeans only spent S$15-S$20(3 Meals outside) per day. Every meal estimate is around S$4 - S$6! If everyday spend S$30-S$35, no matter how much our government assist Singaporeans.......Singaporeans WILL always shout out loud to PAP government........钱不够用!!!! Then PM LHL will tell you........eat S$3toS$5 economic rice😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
