Spinners and hoochies are by far the most popular lures for targeting Sockeye Salmon in the Columbia River at Brewster, Lake Wenatchee, and Baker Lake. In this video I run hoochies head to head with spinners to see which lure out produces the other in terms of bites and catches.

Spinners were definitely the top lure for us last week, we fished 4 days and had our 12 fish by 7.30 or earlier each day. Almost all fish were caught on spinners, orange was the hottest color.

@@spiltmilt moon jelly seems to be the color they want this year. It’s all I caught them on in Pasco. It’s what I heard a lot of people caught them on down there.

Saw you out there. It was dead Saturday and Friday was on fire
I had the same experience, Friday was great then Saturday was brutal. Saw very few nets flying so I figured it wasn’t just me being a terrible fisherman though that’s true too.
nice work. I have to work on spreading a little positivity at the Brewers pool. Often I have had only three hours of sleep and the guy with the 11 foot fishing pole that comes within 1 foot of my kayak gets me a little on edge. I just have to think to myself. What would Tyler do?
Just laugh and makes jokes. All you can do. There is a guide who cuts me off every time I’m out there and every time he cuts me off I catch fish. 😂
@@spiltmiltomg there was 1 guide the totally slipped a couple of feet in front of me from the side and forced me to come to a stop.
That’s really annoying. I encountered some really aggressive guides at Wells here recently too but I’m not in a kayak. Wells makes Brewster seem tame as far as how close the boats are and how sketchy it can get.
Between the guides acting like fat women at the buffet line and assholes running on plane right through everyone trolling I've never seen such shit etiquette. And i'm in a full size boat

They will be there. No chance they can move upriver for at least another month or more
