No worry about that because there were recalls, and the cars have been driven, and by this point, its safe to say that whatever the fault was, destroyed the engines that were affected and either got scrapped or replaced with a new engine, you can also look up your VIN, there is a database of which were affected and which were not, mostly it was for the American market, but europe got some of the bad ones too, but really, it was a problem when they were new, now, the intake manifold is a different story but isnt that bad, either replace the solenoids and do a tune up while you are at it or spend your money on a complete manifold, both is doable and not rocket science, not the best situation but atleast you will only get into safe mode

Yes! Rust is a big problem of the W203. Only till the end of this model range has no issues with that. (Like this car) But the weakness are the brake pipes and brakes itself
The real problem with these are the engines, aside from rust, facelifts don't have problems with rust that I'm aware off, thankfully were I live, rust isn't a problem, the car needs to be a real shitbox to develop rust. The m271 kompressors have weak chains, you have to change timing chain, guides, tensioner and sprockets passed 200k kms, if you do maintenance like it is belt driven the car doesn't have any other flaw tbh, and you do 150k kms in like 10 years, if the car is mint condition I would consider buying one. The m272 have bad balance shafts, this is worse, I wouldn't buy one with this engine, it's a shame bc these are super cool and run pretty fast, you can surprise some kids with newer cars on the highway with it. CDIs are safe, but you have to check for leaky injectors, if you let that slide they can become a problem, check "black death" and you will see.
