I'll forth or fifth this statement... It's always a treat to watch masters of their trade.... Especially when it's something I love already.... I can watch him a hundred times and still not have a clue how to do it myself. Nor do I want to... He's the man. Built the truck myself with no experience. But whatever the transmission was that it had is the one it still got.

All the work you put in is making hard stuff look routine. I liked hearing about marks most sold parts and projects. It was also nice to see rust belt back and see how his transmission was repaired. I was hoping to see what the filter caught. This channel is my favorite on all of TH-cam.

These guys are awesome! I so wish I could have had them ship me out a trans for my LBZ but that’s not a option like me shipping my truck to them. I did however order a transfer case a week before Christmas and received it very quickly. I still have yet to get my trans in but hopefully next week two months difference really sad. Props to these guys and their work all the way down to the packaging you receive the parts in…really hope I have not made a mistake on my decision for shop for the trans order

The allison is such a cool tranmission to build. I had fun doing mine. Your videos and Marks detail helped alot. Now to get this built motor swapped in and come out there to have some fun. Im going for that 1000hp number. Teardown time after this weekend. 😎
So, the ID10T neutral drop bit had me rolling. And Marks face, when he broke that bolt loose that wasn’t torqued anywhere near it should’ve been, was priceless. 🤣

Good thing I guess he didn't dyno it. I just had a bumper pull built by a company down by my house they also make goosenecks and you can customize the way you want and I'm pretty sure it'll be right around 10K
My LML has 300,000 miles on it I'm done changed the transfer case but my transmission shifts hard sometimes and I know my rear differential needs rebuilt I would love to get hold of Kodiak truck to do it but probably ain't got enough money to afford it I'll probably have to just do them myself

Anyone can build transmission, but it takes more than know how to swap transmission parts.

He’s trans went down the same time went down. I had similar issues to him as well. Also, those bolts that hold the flex plate on I used a 3/4 Milwaukee to a 3/4 drive 14mm sunex socket and a lot of heat from a torch.

I 've said it before and I will say it again. You are more than blessed with some great friends. Mark the professor of transmission repair. I felt like it Christmas again. To watch Mark go through it step-by-step. Had to laugh at the 70's joke... I was in the Corps then...the early 60's was when I was starting and using my tool / toolbox... Can't say enough good positive things.. 👍👍👍👍👍
I have some of my dad's tools that I keep for sentimental reasons and I carry his favorite MN Twins baseball cap from the world series win in the 90s that I have in my LBZ (was his truck before he passed) so he is always in the passenger seat with me when I'm cruising.
Not to say the trans isn’t gone. When I started working on my LLY, I had a serious issue with my trans doing the same and 30 codes all together! I ultimately found it to be my “ignition switch! Just a thought!

You guys may be be joking but when I was 16 I rebuilt the tranny on an Oldsmobile 442 (remember I was 16 and this was my first). As I was lowering the jack, my Grandfather (RIP) jumped in it, started it up and pealed rubber pulling out of the garage bay. My heart leaped and then dropped as I wasn't sure I did everything right. My Father and Grandfather were laughing at my reaction but congratulated me on getting it right. My heart still flutters as I remember him pealing rubber out of the bay. Great memories!

I have a 09 LMM I bought it with a cognito lift
And this weekend is the third time I have snapped a pitman arm
I saw your video that has all of the Kryptonite steering components. This is the goal to get a bullet proof system in the front end to be worry free.
What other parts do u recommend I look at to completely bulletproof this front suspension?
I had those symptoms with my stock '06 soon after having my heads done. Turned out it was my wiring harness to the back of the trans!

Awesome build on an Allison tranny for sure!! I have a 2007 classic LBZ with the 6 speed Allison transmission in it!! I have 235,000 miles on it and have pushed snow with it for the past 6 years and haven’t had to do anything to my transmission yet!! But when it does go I will definitely have kodiak truck do the work to it for sure!!! I just love all there knowledge that he has and when something is wrong he definitely no’s for sure and can explain it write away!! He definitely no’s his shit with the Allison’s for sure and that is definitely who I want to do work on my truck if I can’t!!!

All LWB truck i ever pulled trans on had a one piece drive shaft. The short base trucks all have two piece. As far as if they are extended and crew cabs

Chopped the video so much, I could not see the disassemble of that transmission completely. Yes I know you have a video already with an Allison disassembly, but I would have loved to see this one as well. REEEEEEE
I had this issue with our other lbz duramax. Truck would get stuck in 5th gear so I would go into the tuner and delete the codes. It would temporarily fix the issue so I could at least drive it around
I caught that gesture about being towed by a gas pot. LMAO!
Is the blow off valve the waste gate? Whats a transmission rebuild cost for this. Quality shop for sure.
Josh, will a bigger turbo help reduce excessive smoke when you hammer the throttle?
Yes if you can get the tuning right but normally a bigger turbo at spool up is very Smokey

When there built properly they work great 👍 but make sure you choose the right shop to build it

Why's his oil pressure so high? My lmm is at 1/4 on the gauge except on start up.
It’s hard to tell when a thransmission is messing up on video cause it’s not as audible as the blow off valve. Could hear the skip at the end. Kinda a feel thing. Nice truck tho

Mark mentioned that they use dex lll in their builds instead of dex Vl, my understanding is that dex lll is no longer available.

Shoot what I do on very cold mornings is crank it with the pedal to the floor and as soon as it fires it up n drive. Full speed ahead.
