I love you review style. Also we like the fact that you take them apart so we can see the drivers and construction. Thanks for all the time, money and effort you put into this excellent reviews.👍
I like the no mumbo jumbo approach. As soon as a reviewer starts with all audiophile buzzwords I start losing all interest. I would much rather hear a person's objective in unbiased words. Edit for P.S P.S I think you're really good at reviewing speakers.
Informative review! As long as your enjoying the making of the review videos, I say keep making them. I think you offer great information for people looking to purchase a certain speaker. Not all review channels can be the same, and you found your own way of doing it. I like it! Good luck with your channel! 👍🏻🔈
You're right about the customer service and warranty. It's the best. They "hot swapped" my PB16 (175#) free of charge. It's also IMHO the best large sub at any cost.
I think you do a great job with your reviews. That being said, the look inside stuff does seem to be what sets you apart. I’d like to see you continuing to do both, but if I had to choose it would be the look insides all day long. Love your content man!
Just the type of review I look for. Take the speakers apart and visually look what's in there. That tells the story so much more than words. All the hype about the "NEW" SVS amazing speaker line. Well, not so much. The drivers look to be upgraded compared to the previous Ultras. However, SVS still insist on using low grade/quality crossover components and binding posts.
I appreciate the kind words! Thanks! IMO the binding posts are quite nice. They remind me a lot of the ones used on the B&W Nautilus 800 series from the early 2000s.The crossover parts are ok (nothing fancy), but then again these speakers cost only $1200 per pair and the components are inline with others in this price category. Where these speakers shine is in the time aligned cabinet, diamond coated tweeter, and mid bass driver. If you give them a try, you might like them. IMO these are the best sounding bookshelf speakers that you can buy for $1200.
I'm going to set my new around here but I think you do a wonderful job! Mind you are probably subbed to about at least 100 of these type of reviews! You still stand out!🤔😉🤗😇
I really appreciate your reviews! Ive been watching for a while and you do a great job of the inside looks, construction quality and sound analogy. Your reviews really are unique. I watch audio reviews constantly and allll the well known reviewers. Yours are different in a good way. Great work! Definitely got a like and subscribe from me.
I have a pair of SVS Ultra Bookshelf Speakers, and really like them. Also have a SVS Pb Pro 1000 Sub, that works it's best on wireless, and Love it! Seriously thinking about the upgrade soon to a pair of these on review here. Great job for the review. Keep it up!👍
Kitty! The svs evolution use better parts and measure better than many high end speakers. Namely Focal aria (I had the 906, cheap crossovers and tweeters) , Sonus-faber lumina (same), Dynaudio evoke and KEF ls-50/meta (which sound metallic anyway).
I'm not surprised by any of this. The new Ultra Evolution bookshelf speakers are very good. I did a tear down video on the Aria 906 and was not impressed.
Lol, I heard them directly compared the the Focal Aria and the tweeters were on par but I preferred the SVS. But the mid and Bass was all SVS by far. Jingo Santana, Jack Johnson tribute Miles Davis, Vodoo Child Jimi, Carpenter's, and Roy Orbison was the play list.
Nice review. Really appreciate the look inside to really see the quality of construction of the cabinets and components. My question to you is, I own the SVS Ultra bookshelves and am curious to know if it's really worth the upgrade to the new Evolution bookshelves? I also have 2 Ultra surrounds and considering replacing them with regular direct bookshelves (not decided yet). In addition I have the Ultra center and 2 SB16's in my 16' x 14' den that's open to other rooms in the house. In your opinion, would the upgrade from Ultra to Evolution really make that much difference? I'm pretty happy with the Ultras but would not hesitate to upgrade if it's worth the effort.
I talk about this exact question in this review. IMO the biggest difference is in the tweeter and it makes a nice upgrade from the previous generation, but only you can decide if the upgrade is worth it. SVS has a great return policy so order up a pair and decide for yourself. Hope this helps!
Thanks for a straightforward review. I'm wondering are the ultra-evolutions better than the older ultra's, as there is a $500 price difference between them.
Awesome review thank you so much. I noticed that you have the B&W’s and the JBL’s that you showed but you didn’t talk about them compared to the SVS ultra evolution bookshelves. Would you please be so kind as to share with us how they compare to those other speakers that you didn’t discuss. Thank you so much.
Hi Greg, I don't think its fair to compare a pair of $1200 bookshelves to a pair of $15k floor standing speakers and that's why I didn't mention them. The 802's would mop the floor with the Ultra Evolutions and rightly so. However, I also think SVS is definitely going after that B&W sound because it is very similar to B&W's higher end lineup. IMO the Ultra Evolutions really are the affordable 700 series bookshelf option. As for the JBL's, the Ultra Evolutions are quite a bit better. The tweeter and midrange are much smoother, detailed, and realistic sounding. The SVS's also have a little bit more bass and IMO are a better overall package. I am really happy with my Ultra Evolutions and made a permanent home for them in my bedroom system. If you pair these speakers with a quality subwoofer, then you can get tower speaker sound for little money. My advise is to try them out for yourself because SVS has an excellent in home trial and return policy. Hope this helps.
Had a bunny once, nibbled on all the speaker wires😅 Look out for teeth marks! Btw, I just found this channel, don’t stop reviewing man! You’re like us, the normal hifi dudes just loving this stuff. Keep up the reviews! They’re great and from the heart.
Yeah, they are definitely know for that (chewing on cables). Most of our house is bunny proofed (protected wires) because he is a free roam rabbit that is allowed to go in just about any part of the house. Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!
No problem. I haven't heard the Elac B6.2. Its one speaker that has been on my list to tear down and review. If I were you, I would order a pair from SVS and make your comparison. They offer a free 45 day in home trial and an easy return policy.
I just ordered SVS Prime Elevation x4 speakers for my first Atmos setup, so how they will sound for on celling Atmos effects ??? Rest of 4 surrounds are Canton 501.2 .How this setup it will work ?
You can clearly hear the difference, even through this video, when switching between the two makes of speakers. Those Kef's sounded awful in comparison.
That's a big room to fill. I think you will be very happy with them as long as you pair them with a subwoofer that has some really nice output. You might even want to do two subwoofers in a room that size if this is primarily for a home theater application.
@@Albet27 Hi Albert. That is incorrect. Bowers & Wilkins does not use an aluminum base to synthetically grow diamond on. If that was truly the case, then their diamond tweeters wouldn't "shatter" when handled improperly. Tweeter domes in B&W's 800 series Diamonds are 100% made from synthetically grown diamond.
@@Albet27 I don't think I am. I'm very familiar with B&W's process and have shattered a few diamond tweeters myself -- I'm actually looking at one as I type this. B&W's Diamond dome contains no aluminum substrate when they install the tweeter in it's housing. Please provide a link to your findings and I will review it.
Danny may be biased since his sole business model is to sell people "upgrade" kits. I absolutely love them for this price point and think they sound great. People need to understand that there is a lot more to a speaker than just measurements. I would recommend that you try them for yourself and form your own opinion before taking an opinion from someone you don't even know as gospel (that includes me).
With all due respect, if you want to include sound demo clips on your videos, take a page from Ron at NRD. Your big rig certainly suggests you have the budget for a proper dummy head binaural microphone setup, which I think is the absolute minimum requirement for serious recordings of that nature, and definitely need to be listened to on the best headphones the viewer has in their own “arsenal”. In my previous life as an “audiophile”, I’d used the terms stable or harem. 😂
My channel is too small for a setup like that. Maybe if the channel gets bigger I might do it, but at the moment I have no plans. I might quit doing the review videos altogether anyways and focus on my look inside videos. I appreciate the feedback though.
@@generationbehindhifi Fair enough. Just saying that done properly that type of recording set up comes as close as possible to vanquishing the limitations that almost all other YT reviewers I’ve encountered are prey to.

I just heard them they are awesome. Like little tower book shelfs I can't believe how low they go and the tweeter is very nice.
Excellent review, big difference!
I’m wondering if you can remove the circle with the SVS on them and turn around with no brand showing?
Your approach is great / that being said, the SVS speakers were brighter, cleaner, and more depth. No comparison. SVS won.
Great review.
Good review, I could tell a difference between the 2. But I mostly watch your teardown videos. I love those the most.

How about SVS Evolutions compared to your JBL HDI. Which do you prefer for HT dialog?
Sadly they are not the HDI, just the new Studio series. I prefer the Ultra Evolutions over the Q350s and JBL Studio 630s by a pretty wide margin.
How's the dialogue clarity on the movie? I can't really tell from the demo. Thanks.
I kenneth, I talk about this exact thing at 6:25 in this video. These speakers did great on "dialogue clarity".
svs ultra evolution center or old Svs Ultra Center which one best movie performance??

How many nuts per speaker?
The kef sounded muffled compared to the svs.
Do they really have a similar sound signature compared to the bowers & Wilkins trebble bass
Also really couris about this - I got the B&W 805D3 but will for sure see if I can hear these speakers somewhere to compare them :)
