I've been really enjoying Dragon Age, I think the conservative cancel culture noise is unfortunate cause it's one of the best games of the year. Sephiroth will always be GOAT because of the way that theme song hits when you finally reach him. Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid is also up there for me. Matt I really enjoyed the positive gaming news, there's so much negative news out there it's nice ot hear some positive stuff about gaming and video game culture. Keep up the good work boys!
Hey guys! 1. I'm curious to see how everything with Dragon Age shakes out. I get the feeling that the review approach isn't much different than any other game (I think all publishers pick and choose when it comes to TH-camrs, while sending out copies to all of the more "official" sites), but I have noticed that a lot of the most positive reviews have come from people who didn't really care about the old games, and have liked the design and approach for Veilguard since the beginning. There's also a weird defensiveness to a lot of the positive reviews, like they're getting ahead of flaws that they know people are going to point out (from the writing, to the lack of real choice, to the linearity, to the character design, to the poor animations, etc.). I don't think those reviewers are lying, but I also don't feel like any of my personal concerns with this game (like Maulding, I really don't like the new visual style, or that they're walking it back from its RPG roots) have been assuaged. SkillUp's video in particular really validated a lot of the feelings I was getting from the early footage and previews. Oh well, we'll see. 2. With the Nintendo Music app, I get the feeling Nintendo was sitting around being greedy, seeing TH-cam videos for some of their songs, and thinking "why aren't we profiting off of this?" My guess is that the app is a way to ensure that they're at least trying to lock people into Nintendo Online, and that they'll start going more aggressively after TH-cam uploads in the future. They're in a heavily litigious stage, and this is kind of an offshoot of that. 3. Satya Nadella making almost $80 million in one year, on the backs of thousands of laid off employees, is depressing but unfortunately pretty common. As is Microsoft's short-term thinking with getting more sales on multi-platform releases while undermining Xbox's whole reason for existing as a hardware platform. Unfortunately, these people's only job is to make their stock raise in price in the short-term. They don't care about the long-term, because they may not be in that position at a later time anyway. The whole system is busted, and I don't know how to shift incentives enough to start fixing it.
All great points. I just want good story and gameplay from Dragon Age. Nintendo Music is so random. I hope they don’t take down the sweet Animal Crossing playlist that I adore. Mr. Nutella is just another big fish, for sure. I’m just jealous
Great points for sure! I can't wait to jump into Dragon Age tonight. I'm a bit nervous it's too PC and boring, but then hopefully I'll get caught up in the story. I do like the Bioware formula of doing side quests for companion storylines and I know that is in here. So I'm looking forward to that. For the greedy Satya Nadella, one point I didn't get to make on the show was that it makes me nervous when he damages the xbox brand. Not because I'm an XBox fanboy, but because we've all seen how greedy and arrogant Sony can get without competition. They need to balance each other out. But right now, Microsoft is just being so short sighted and it sucks. I agree, I'm not sure how to fix it either, because you are right, who knows if he'll be around to reap what he's sowing.

Thanks, buddy! Psycho Mantis is a good choice, too. Those Metal Gear games have great, if f'ing crazy, villains.

@@DanWhitehill Oh yeah, totally agreed regarding Sony. A competitive Microsoft is good for the industry.
