    Having a Flip 18 and a Roadie 24, they both have their pros and cons. I love my Flip cooler, but it is not very kid friendly so I have to help with them taking out a kids drink. The latches on the Roadie are out of this world with ease of use. If you are the only one who is going to access that cooler, makes so much sense for a flip other than people do have some zipper issues if not lubed as recommended and the Flips are only a 3 year warranty as opposed to the Roadies 5 year. The negative to the Roadie for me is the weight when fully loaded up. Other than that, its solid too.

    This is the exact review I was looking for. The Hopper Flip 12 would be better for me for my uses. Thanks for the help!

      My pleasure! that's why I do these!
      I use the Flip 12 the most in my day to day use. the bigger Roadie does come in handy when I head to the beach with a group of people. but it certainly doesn't get used as frequently. at least for me.

    the roadie clasps are nice. I always figured the rubber pulls were part of the insulation tech or something. If thats not the case, I wonder if Yeti will start using these on their other coolers. In both cases, I wish the clasp/pull was fixed to the body and didnt dangle from the lid when open.

      I like the new cam style latches they suck the lid down while are still easy to operate.
      I think if the clasp were fixed to the body is a pretty good idea though

    Biggest design flaws of these coolers is no icepak storage in the lid, look how thick the lid on both coolers are, could easily be a spot to store an icepak in, up there.c old air drops not raises, cooling is more effective when you can do both. but just putting an ice pack on the top without a dedicated spot is meh.

      the lids are insulated. cheaper coolers don't have an insulated lid

    you didn't mention that the hopper (all 3 sizes) come with a carrying strap you can sling over your shoulder. Another huge plus.

      @gearsNtools  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      agreed. the shoulder strap is nice, especially for beach trips or other destination walks.

    I have both and love both. Flip 12 keeps things cold as hell for along time because it’s so much more air tight. Roadie 24 is perfect for a day trip and not expecting ice to last 3 days. People that hate the roadie 24 ice retention is lane. It’s called a ROADie. You know road trip not a 3 day cross country trip

    • @gearsNtools

      Agreed. the Roadie 24 is my drink cooler :) things don't usually last more than 24 hours. the Hopper is a nice overnight cooler for work.
      if you want multi day cooling I'd probably go with the Tundra 35 or bigger, holds more ice and more food

      I’m getting bag ice to last 56 hours with the yeti ice in the bottom of the roadie 24.

      @@benfoster9162 That's really good! I live in AZ so when I use these it's in the absolute worst kind of heat you can imagine! Most people will probably have better times than me, especially if they can find some shade to keep it out of the direct

    The Roadies you can use dry ice and the Hopper flips you can not.

    Hopper 12 is better if you’re just using it for tue day. fishing, kayaking, beach, cookout etc etc.
