How beautiful, a man and his sun dancing...I can see how this dance ties the dancer directly to their ancestors and interlinks all the life on the planet..your sun will always have this dance and a connection to you.
How does son that’s his nephew because he came to our school for a show and for career day and that’s his nephew and his son was there too his name is Michael and nephews name is Eric and the guy in the red is named Terry
I was in awe of the animals, birds and horse riding done with hoops. Actually all is amazing and it seems they were using double the hoops at time. Healing place for quarantine. Thank you.
I don’t understand your comment. I did watch someone perform the hoop dance but of coarse not this one with this gentleman x yes I am old@@DollyRunningRabbit-sr5md
Imagine how hard it is to keep in motion for the time needed to do this dance. You have to have alot of energy and muscles you never knew you had..very beautiful and iconic dance, its hard to forget it once you see it..
the man is doing more of a traditional hoop dance and the son is much more modern and technical. both did such an amazing job. it definitely isn’t as easy as they make it seem, takes years of practice. beautiful!❤️💛🤍🖤
I started watching Eric Hernandez videos And he said his Uncle taught him, and it led me to wanting to know more about his Uncle. Also saw videos of Michael and Eric together dancing, and kept on with the videos. This is a very moving dance, I really did not know what it meant, but I started seeing animals in their hoops and how beautiful this dance really was, and there was more to it. From what I have read and am told there isn't but around 100 hoop dancers , but that number may have changed in the last few years. The generations that have done this dance and have passed it down have shown it done with grace, beauty, and dignity, but its the bravery and love for your People that have you doing it and teaching it to the next generations that will allow this dance to be seen and enjoyed for years to come. Never let these dances be forgotten ,some of these will be seen by someone like me who wants to know more about them, and will be looking to find their meanings and history. THATS A BIG STEP FORWARD IN GETTING TO KNOW SOMEONES CULTURE OTHER THAN YOUR OWN, AND BEING ABLE TO GET ENJOYMENT FROM IT....
Wow, they would be great at the Annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival in San Francisco, CA. Wow..They have never presented sacred dance like this in all the years I have attended.
kiora my indigenous whanau. Greetings to you all from here in Aotearoa (Nz). So awesome to see another culture something only we can appreciate thank you.
Hello out there, bravo, what a magnificent didplay of talent in hoop dancing. So different in music from ive heard yrs ago. We grew up on the Zuni reservation with a navajo family whom herd sheep for our grandfather, their daughter was another excellent performer in hoop dancing. Kathleen is her name. Thank you more the many private V I P shows you performed for us. You guys brought back many cherished memory, you are excellent in my eyes❤❤❤.
Great stuff. I saw him dance when I lived in Pennsylvania for a while. Hard to believe time has past by so quickly. Hugh Pinnock would be very proud of him and his accomplishments.
Ive seen some excellent hoopers this was incredible. Way better than I expected. Never seen the full flower be played with like that this was very cool. GOD BLESS YOU
4:35 oops with excellent recovery. I'm just amazed that they can spin so much with out getting dizzy. The consant foot movement, I'd be tripping over my self and the hoops. Fluid to the point it looks natural. I think I'd like my kids to learn this. It looks more fun than skateboarding and may other physical activities. Mental challenge as well.
this is way to late but today at school only Terry came to our school and I got an autograph by him after he talked about his life and did the hoop dance he’s doing in the video😭
Buzshu niigii... Miimiinugiizshigweb indiginocoz... I'm a War Chief of the Ojibwe Nation, RED LAKE... I admit, never thought new wave style music would work with our style of dancing... Being an old hoop/free style dancer myself this is actually kind of nice... Make more if you would please... Miigwich...

I was in awe of the animals, birds and horse riding done with hoops. Actually all is amazing and it seems they were using double the hoops at time. Healing place for quarantine. Thank you.
