I love Bernth videos, with him, I focus on technic mostly, but for music theory I recommend you to check out Signals Music Studio by Jake Lizzio, he's awesome, I've learnt so mucho about theory from him, he makes songs just to tech you, which is perfect if you're looking to improvise or compose.

Bernth, I just want to say thank you so much for all you’ve done for us. I liked the video to get to this later still been practicing my lagato, and picking technique from your channel. I know I’m not a young prodigy guitarist by any means, but it’s because of you that I started guitar. Everyone’s got a guitar hero. And I feel like you’re mine. So thanks for all the videos you put out for us. You seem like such a good guy and I just wish I knew you personally in real life. Keep up the good work Sensei 🙏. @@Bernthguitar thanks for replying to your fans. You’re enjoyable to listen to, been listening to some of you’re albums In The truck when taking the girls to the store and I’ll say the song,”when it rains, it poors.” It’s amazing. My daughter thought it was great to when we jammed it out on the drums as she sat behind me, listening. Can’t wait to be able to shred like that tho man. In time (: the new orange cab and 15W head are amazing to play on btw and make playing that much more enjoyable !

The first best thing you can do if you haven't already is learn the circle of fifths. There is a simple formula that I figured out after staring at it. Starting at C, the next key is G, which is the 5th of C. it adds 1 # which is F#. So the next key is the 5th of G and will add a second # which is a 5th up from F# which is C#. That formula works all the way around clockwise and if counter clockwise, the previous key is the 5th of the next. A great book is the "Guitar Grimoire". I have the "Bass Grimoire" and it really helped me understand the relationship between modes and chords. And yes! This guy makes great videos! I'm scratching my head at the 50 or so retards that had to give it a thumbs down.

Hey Brother, I'm not really a shred guy - not by choice but by my limitations--I have an arthritic pinky on my left hand. I can use it when chording but when I need to stretch for a long note, it simply aint happening. I stepped away from guitar in my Late 20's through my 40's due to drug addiction. About 10 years ago, through the Grace of God, my addiction no longer hampered me and I started playing again. Only then did i notice my pinky bent at the first joint. Ever since then, guitar has saved the rest of my fingers. The old adage "move or lose it" really does apply to us all. Due to my limited pinky action, I have formed my own style (Django did it with 2 fingers) and my third finger can really stretch out and cover some space.I just want to thank you for being so generous. I have not been a subscriber for very long but since then, your inspiration, your kindness, and your generosity in sharing what you have learned has really helped me become a much better and more precise player. Thank you Man! I just turned "friggen" 60!! but my playing is the best ever. \||/

in context of Jerry Bergonzi - Melodic structures vol 1
we have 4 notes shapes to exercise with chord
but it is somewhere a book with composing exercises ???
How to create a verse, chorus, and transition between them
    that everything could be consistent?
How to create modal compositions in chosen mode?
Or how to make ionian verse/intro,
    ionian #5 break,
    ionian b6 chorus
or/and, how to create compositions in a chosen genre
    flamenco verse/intro,
    jazz break,
    country chorus
    and classical outro
these are much more interesting issues
but I don't know where to look for training materials :(

Well I think this is a great video (I’m also a guitar teacher who studied music at the university level). I teach similar approaches. Well done! Oh and my random German word is actually low German (Plaut Deutch) from Canada and it’s Vinthuntich. (Probably spelled wrong) and it refers to the way a dog smells after being outside for too long. It translates “wind doggie”.

Just for laughs consider this exercise... arpeggiate/melodicize through a 1-3-5-7-11-13 stay8ing within your chosen scale. Repeat for the other more awkward starting note sequences/ every key. Just an amusement.

The best teachers are those that teach slowly and their students progress quickly!Teachers who teach fast are selfish and want you to take years to progress! You Tube teachers are the best not only in music but in other areas of learning!

Gotta say, this is fabulous stuff. Only problem is I don't like the kind of music you play.. I guess I can apply this to blues and R&R.
