Technically a plagal cadence is IV - I (so in this case A - E). I called it plagal because in my intro I'm always resolving to the E chord at the end but in my explanation I was just talking about E - A, hence the confusion.

This is what I need, someone who knows their scales, arpeggios, pentatonic, natural or hybrid scales, Etc. “Arpeggio is just a broken chord”; I’ve never heard it described that way and that one comment turned a light bulb on for me, such a simple statement but it helped me significantly! Thank you Paul.
I am a hack that has been playing for years and years by ear, afraid of or "didn't have time for" theory. I wanted to figure out arpeggios but the block method was to me like trying to learn scale positions, etc. But your succinct way of showing me this linear approach has finally clicked something in my brain... Wow I get it, and how it can be used to solo, and expand on the musicality of the progression. You also showed me how ninth and dominant chords are structured and difference between major and the minor 3rd arpeggio. Not only that but l can see how to "play the changes" now! Thank you so very much! This has been the best lesson for me ever from a you tube teacher, you are the real deal. I subbed and look forward to more of your insight! Thank you, again!

As soon as you added the 2 or 9 to your arpeggio it reminded me of Tennessee Waltz. Which, in my estimation, is one of the most beautiful, though simple, classic melodies of all time.

I've long searched for a method connecting me from pentatonics into chord and arpeggio runs. For me the arenas Pentatonics, Major, Minor, Arpeggios, Chord and CAGED where seperate enigma's.
But this video and the other one on playing arpeggios along the neck made all the connections and made it all connect and now it's starting to make so much more sense!

amazing lesson. Start with pentatonic scale instead of usual scale. Get good at it. Only then start adding other notes from the major (minor) scale. Memorise where the chords are, and where they connect to a pentatonic scale, and only then start doing arpeggios. «It’s all connected” (C) Dirk Gently

Ive been playing guitar for 3 years now and dove deep into theory when i started, the way you apply that theory to the guitar has really helped me to visualize what i have been learning and has drastically improved my playing. In this video you talking about thinking of it as little pieces(octaves) that you can fit together has been another epiphany moment. Again, thank you, its hard to find good resources with people who actually know what they are talking about for free, and you are the best I have found so far, so keep up the good work.
