    I used -
    2m extra wide (108") tulle

    2 hair clips
    Total cost for the materials was $23 (Australian)
    You will also need a needle, thread, pins, scissors and tape measure.

    Thank you for posting this! I need to rework an old store-bought gown for a gala, and I was overthinking my vision for a cape.
    This was super helpful. Now I have to source a nice quality of tulle.
    Thanks again!

    This is the best tutorial! I'm using this cape method for my veil to clip in my hair instead. But after watching this I feel so much more confident 😌 🖤

    Thank you so much for this! I'm making it out of a soft black glitter tulle and putting a twinkling LED string light curtain beneath it, so I can live my full midnight sky disco sith fantasy! 😃

    This is gorgeous and easy, and I personally love and will use the tip to use chiffon to add a fun shimmery color underneath. Thank you so much!

    Super BRILLIANT.
    Super easy to wear also. Wow them during theh ceremony then remove after you photographs for a fuss free gown for the reception. Teamed with a short head veil for brides wanting the traditional look.
    Simply love this.

    its nice however make sure to use different color of fabric or background for the contrast and for us to see clearly what you are doing... Thank you

    This cape veil is quick, easy and cheap to make. Perfect if you're in a rush or on a budget. Change up the length and colour to suit your style. I kept this one simple, but you could add embellishments to the gathered parts or around the edge.

      Thanks, for the video but it was quite hard to see what you were doing because of the white background

      Hi, my camera was having a hard time focusing on the tulle. Happy to clarify any parts that you didn't understand. Just let me know 🙂

      I am unable to find extra wide tulle at any stores (in USA), would 108" wide tulle work as well?

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jennagutowski1757 108" is extra wide tulle (regular tulle is about 60" wide).

    This video is so helpful. I’m trying to figure out how to do this on my spaghetti strap dress and not make the attachment look so bulky. I’m gonna try it tonight! Thanks!!!

    I love this! For a olive Green dress in satin, would you make a white/ivory/champagne veil? Or black or Green? 😀

    This is super helpful thank. Do you have any recommendations on making the attachments neater to suit skinny straps? I’ve seen some capes online that just use a safety pin but feels like that wouldn’t be sturdy enough? Not sure!

    Can this be altered to include a hood? Suggestions on how to do that?

    Could you make this using a veil that was meant as a hair piece? Just remove the comb and add the shoulder clasps?

    I LOVE this look, I’m going to try to do this for a dress I’ll wear to a formal wedding in June. As I’m just a guest, I don’t want a floor length cape, how much fabric would I need? Is the 2 meters the length to the ground or for the width from one shoulder to the next?

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To work out the amount of fabric you'll need measure from where it will attach to the length you want. For extra wide tulle you'll just need one length. For narrower fabric to get this fullness you'll need 2 lengths.

    I found some tulle that I absolutely love (it's got stars and moons on it) that I really want to turn into a cape veil, but it's only about half as wide as it should be. Is there an easy way to put them together? I found some advice online that says you can do it with hot glue, but I'm hesitant to try it.

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You can stitch the lengths of tulle together until they are the width that you want. I'd avoid a hot glue gun - it could melt the tulle and will show through and look awful!

    Are you able to make a decent looking cape veil with regular width (60”) tulle?

    just a suggestion to use black tulle or a different color background next time as its hard to see

    Can I make this with 28” folded and 56” width? I could not find 108” width fabric.

    • @RockstarsandRoyalty
      @RockstarsandRoyalty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can make it with narrower tulle - you'll just need to join 2 lengths together to get the fullness.
