      @@AdventureTimeRC I bought one of these a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed, especially for the $129 price tag! I have some really expensive planes and rc trucks that really have nothing superior on that crawler. I wound up taking the foam out of the tires and it actually grabs better and is quieter if you can believe it. Hey how about for your next video you set the crawling to Godsmack? for some reason Im thinking "voodoo" would be funny as hell!!!!🤣

    Redcat is stepping it up I love the Everest 10 laegendary is also stepping it up... keeping crawlers 300 or less is what will make these companies a lot of money plus they will make a lot of money off the parts in the add-ons what if the prices are too high people won't purchase them especially the economy we're living in right now it's kind of hard

    Cut down body, bigger tires, thinner shock oil, better servos, 30mm spacers for wider stance to eliminate rubbing due to servos and bigger tires. All of that has been done.
    Next is steel suspension and steering links. Get a new better scale body, upgrade esc and motors

    I got this as my first rock crawler and so far it has been amazing. There are only two things about it that bother me but they are not major. When I switch it into mode 2 for all wheel steering the front tires rubs onto the plastic rods underneath that you mentioned in this video. It only happens when the tires are turned the maximum distance to right or left. Sometimes they even rub on the cables that go to the front motor. The other thing I noticed is that it goes out of alignment fairly quick. Anybody know how to address these issues?
    Edit: just realized that rear tires also rub onto the rods when going at faster speeds and doing full turn either way.

    I have a Ridgerock and also have a Traxxas TRX4 sport, I grab the Ridgerock most of the time.. If the Ridgerock had portal-axles, wow, watch out because it would be almost un-stopable. The Ridgerock is only limited by the axle clearance but in many cases if the other two tires have sufficient grip you can push/pull the hung axle through..

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      not really smaller, CA'd some body posts sideways on the top center section and fitted an HPI Jeep body on it. wheelbase about same as a WLtoys 12428 (my Virhuck clone). the stock body was 1/16 or 1/14, fit better over a typical toy crawler.
      in eBay search 1/43 crawler.. www.ebay.com/itm/RC-Car-Mini-1-43-Rock-Crawler-Drift-Remote-Control-Monster-Truck-Highspeed-Toys/113557436710?hash=item1a708cf926:m:m4VbmhgSlelgnF7l8MYn-5w take the springs off the pogo sticks it'll outdo my Redcat 1/24 Sumo crawler at a lot of little indoor stuff even being bang-bang steering. did some "torture" to it and the transmitter so they both run a single 14500 AA size lithium-ion cell instead of being battery eaters.
      simple 2x2 framing, aluminum window screen tortured to shape and hit with expanding foam (paddled into the mesh when fresh wet), easy to whip up a 1/24 or smaller "portable" indoor crawler course "board", 4' x 4' or by 5', that can be set at an angle from floor to wall to be easier or tougher at whim. the expanding foam on screen gets rigid when set, carve in details, wood glue to "primer" open cells before painting stuff. can be as simple or complicated, as pretty or fugly as you want, easily.

      Its semi water proof from the factory have gotten mine pretty wet several times but if you really want water proof electronics use either conformal coating on the boards or corrosion x works pretty good

      @@AdventureTimeRC I'm getting another one for extra parts, tire upgrade made a huge difference. The axles are bent some, from running it hard into rocks. Nothing but hours of fun using it. I wish my store had the Everest 10 but they don't carry them. Got my money's worth the first month, and it still works perfectly. Thanks.

    Here's some3D printed shock to axle mount extensions I made. They do increase chassis clearance a bit, but they also allow full articulation, rather than having it limited one way by the motor casing. thangs.com/wordreet/Set-of-four-Ravine-Damper-Mount-Extensions-8mmstl-9615
    I've added wheel weights by wrapping plumber's solder around inside the wheels then electrical tape over. Also axle weights sticky with car wheel weights on top of each servo. I love it! Specially with softer tires.
