Goku form is suppose to represent sun wukong hence the more monkey like transformation. Goku is based off Sun wukong anyway and DB was inspired from Journey to the west story.
This needs to be a series. I love db but this route is so interesting and creative. It would be a crime if this story isn’t explored

True the original story of dragon ball is inspired by journey to the west. But Sun Wukong was a villian god who hated human beings and then slowly became more of a good god. His personality is completely different from Goku.
People dont understand that its only a few people doing this whole animation, it took 4 years cuz they got a life, shit to do, etc.

So many people missed the fact that both Vegeta and Goku had moments where their movement imitated a monkey. These versions of Goku and Vegeta are more connected to their monkey side.

For those confused by Goku’s transformation. It is inspired the Asian legend that Goku is based off of which is Son Wukong the Monkey King who fought against the heavens. Which is the dude with the pole that dontai was referring to

I kinda love how Vegeta acts in this show, he’s already way nicer in this animation, regular Vegeta would of called Broly a bastard 20 times during that fight, would say “I can’t lose I’m the prince of SAYIANS” and would die before doing the kamehameha, this Vegeta accepts that he’s king

@@chillin7934 that ki blade was epic and the whole fight sequence was amazing, wish the fight scene was more longer, Vageta fought most of the fight really wanted to see what son goku could do in that form. Really hope it becomes a full fledged anime series with its own timeline a fresh start to Dragon Ball Legend

This really does look like some anime you'd see in the 90's. Also the only reason it took that long is because they didn't spend 6-8 hours everyday animating this. They had no budget, so they did this all on their spare time, it's incredible.

And the way he fights is exactly how I envisioned him - ruthless and unrelenting from years of training and missions across the galaxy, going about the business of whoopin ass w/ no monologuing, and tanking shot after shot as part of the actual fight sequence as opposed to a 'last ditch, yet failed effort at the end before Goku comes to the rescue".

to answer your question, his team helped with color and some layout, but yeah he animated it on his own, thats why it took 4 years, but also had to work at the same time
Bro I’m so glad this man finally gave what the creators couldn’t and that is the recognition and a true shining moment of Vegeta fighting like a real a ass warrior/leader and not some whiny egotistical baby. This makes Vegeta seem more confident in his own strength and not like cocky side character who is always behind and only motivated to get a little bit stronger than goku. Ngl I like the Vegeta teaching goku how to control his power aspect.

This, this is how we want action anime to be bruh. Especially the ones like dragon ball that uses flight and energy attacks. If the fight movements was like this but with Jujutsu Kaisen type of animation (i mean in terms of quality not exact art style) Dragon ball would be the best series of all time
If the fighting choreography of Dragon Ball was more detailed like this and other anime that use martial arts, it'd be untouchable. Ki blasts in the fight would be the cherry on top.

Son Goku is a Japanese adaptation of Wukong it's why he's part ape and flys on the nimbus also in Dragonball he has his extendable pole 😊

I like how Goku’s transformation reflected his roots and ties to what inspired the character in the first place, which was Sun Wukong. It taps into the raw and primal power of his saiyan ape side like SSJ4, but it keeps the appeal and hype of the first time he ever went super saiyan, making a golden monkey-like transformation. It really ties everything together nicely.
Goku's transformation was a reference to what he was made after a CRAZY mythical being known as Son Wukong hence the monkey like movements fur tail etc! Shi is SO FIRE

The dude don’t look that much like Monkey King Sun Wukong from Chinese folklore Journey to the West where Wukong is accompanied by Zhu Baijie, Taibai Jinxing (evening star), White Dragon Horse (pretty much shenlong since goku is depicted riding it), among other references to Journey to the West.. but you do realize that Goku is literally based off of Monkey King Sun Wukong.. that’s why he’s so carefree, comedic, and why he flew in cloud nimbus as well as had the power pole as a kid. This is by far the best fan film ever made of a popular classic; I like how the animation was done and the fight sounds and super powered transformations were awesome beyond compare, I especially like how vegeta finally showed respect to goku what I've been longing for the most for it's been taking so damn long for him to do! Son Goku means Sun WuKong in Japanese, the savior from heaven form thing is basically Sun WuKong, The Sage Equal to Heaven.
Goku is a heavily nerfed Sun WuKong so the new form is quite beautiful and fitting.
