If radio played more of this type of music, people would be blown away. They wouldn't be able to believe their ears. This is what great music sounds like. I just listened to their new song "Change the World"...FANTASTIC!!!
Harem Scarem is a hard rock band from Toronto, Ontario. Harem Scarem achieved popularity in Japan and their native Canada in the early 1990s. The band was active from 1987 to 2008 and again from 2013 after reforming. Throughout their career, they released 14 studio albums, plus numerous live and compilation albums. Harem Scarem was formed in 1987 by guitarist Pete Lesperance and singer Harry Hess, formerly of Blind Vengeance who had recorded two heavy metal albums in the '80s. The lineup was rounded out by Darren Smith (drums) and Mike Gionet (bass).
Harem Scarem is still on the go! after all these years they are back and have all new songs, just like these! rock bands like these guys aren't dead! they are even better than ever!
Ran into Harry and the band at Canada,s wonderland in the 80,s. He was kind enough to give me some ketchup pkg,s that he just happened to have on him. Will never forget that. GREAT CANADIAN BAND!
Can't people just agree that this is a great music from a great band that just got under the radar. Why does it have to be that grunge and whatever destroyd these bands. These guys are great musicians as were nirvana, alice in chains, soundgarden and a lot ohters. The same for Whitesnake, Def leppard, firehouse, jouney, van halen, bon jovi and several others. I also love dream theater, malmsteen, iron maiden, pink floyd, queen, ac/dc, deep purple, Beatles, black sabath and more recently staind, alter bridge, audioslave, creed Nobody ruined anything, it's all here for us to enjoy and it' s all great music. Everything has it's time and the next thing it's just around rhe corner. I also feel that todays pop music is shallow, over produced but I know that under all the crap there are still people doing great music, maybe it's me that stick to what I know and don't look further...

This is the song that got me into Harem Scarem when I stumbled across it here on TH-cam a few years ago.Although they have a more heavier sound nowadays I still love them.
their first album with the doll and sunflower i guarantee you impacted many relationships, failed relationships, people still hanging onto someone. imagine how many ppl wept while listening to this album while missing someone, the tears harem scarem's sound and lyrics made drop from the eyes, hitting the heart, just really truly hitting the heart,i know, cause i was one of these ppl hanging and hopeing onto someone for so long, and everytime i listen to any song from the sunflower doll album i think of her. william shakespeare woulda been proud to see such passion in music
Words fail me how good harem scarem are true pioneers of Canadian rock music this track is one of many classic songs they have written brilliantly driven track that you just can't get enough of awesome
This is the song that got me into this GREAT,VERY VERY UNDERRATED Aor/Melodic band only a few years ago thanks to TH-cam.WHY oh WHY did I not hear of them in the nineties? I love their Mood Swings album although as I am late in getting into them it was their special anniversary re-released edition that I bought. For me No Justice is their signature song in the same way Bon Jovi's signature song is Living On A Prayer.I have their last 4 albums and I intend to buy more albums from this great band. While I was listening to Def Leppard in the nineties I never even heard of AOR/Melodic rock although I had just about heard of Survivor. It's wonderful how your music tastes changes to genres you never knew existed. Maybe it's to do with the Internet age.
This is the first Harem Scarem song I ever heard only a few years ago. Then I bought the re-released Mood Swings album and I thought "Why have I never heard of this GREAT band before?"I hadn't even heard of the term AOR when I was in my late teens/early twenties(I'm 48 years old and I live in Northern Ireland.)Over the years I have always seemed to get into AOR bands after they have been performing for YEARS e.g I only got into Journey in the 90s.Thanks to a few free CDs in some AOR editions of the British magazine"Classic Rock"TH-cam and the Firefest AOR Festival in Nottingham England I have discovered alot of great AOR bands but I must say Harem Scarem is my favourite AOR band with a heavy sound to it and Pride Of Lions my favourite AOR band with a softer sound.
+Dan Austin If you like this you will like Harem Scarem - Mood swings. A really good album with awesome guitar work. There is a mood swings II album which is also exceptional.
This song helped me get over my ex whom i dated for 10 years on and off. I also recommended this song to a friend who's going through the same thing. Love Harem Scarem!! You guys rock!
absolutely devastates me how this band didn't blow past def leppard etc....such reality and heart...bless each member.don't ever feel alone, cherished beyond words
I disagree. My favourite rock band in the late eighties/early nineties was Def Leppard but I think they went downhill when they released the album after Adrenalize,Slang. At the same time I'd just about heard of bands like Survivor,Boston etc but it has only been in the last 10-15 years that I have found out that there was even a such thing as AOR rock never mind that Survivor was an AOR band. In my mind Harem Scarem are in the same vein as Survivor if only a bit heavier. Slowly Slipping Away is one of Harem Scarem's soft rock songs. I suggest you try one of their later albums like Mood Swings for example. It's got a heavier sound but still different from Def Leppard( not that I'm Rock fanatic as I also listen to Air Supply and Chicago for flip sake)Also I hate thrash heavy/metal and the Rolling Stones but each to their own.
I have seen Harem Scarem many times in Niagara Falls. Great band, great music, great harmonies not so great to their fans. From what I remember they had the, I am a Rock Star worship me, type of attitude. From what I remember from Iron Mike Benson, they fell out of favor at 97.7. After the second cd. I still love the music though. Still listen to them at 60 yrs of age.
There's a burning question in my heart But I see the answer in your eyes An uneasy feeling without you There's only peace by your side Our hearts survived the cold world outside Somehow this love keeps us alive I feel it in the morning I feel it all through the day I feel the heartache, slowly slipping away, slowly slipping away We've had our share of confusion We've been let down so many times before But what I've found is a real love No need to search anymore, no Somehow we've weathered the storms in our lives This love has never been a lie We will survive the cold world outside Somehow this love keeps us alive

Hair metal needs to make a comeback.
Not a huge ballad guy, but this song is unskippable whenever it comes on. The vocal harmonization during the chorus is absolutely perfect.

Pete rocking it from Oshawa!! He was a good Science student in high school!!
Unreal emotional mid tempo power ballad. Sad music isn't as meaningful today as it was back when these bands where around.

Absolutely love this song and Harem Scarem Cd, im in England but i love their music
Excellent band from Toronto remember in 1990 they had just played 1 day before us in Hamilton...and everyone was talking about how great they were
Very Melodic, Great Rock Song!
There's a burning question in my heart
But I see the answer in your eyes
An uneasy feeling without you
There's only peace by your side
Our hearts survived the cold world outside
Somehow this love keeps us alive
I feel it in the morning
I feel it all through the day

We've had our share of confusion
We've been let down so many times before
But what I've found is a real love
No need to search anymore, no
Somehow we've weathered the storms in our lives
This love has never been a lie
We will survive the cold world outside
Somehow this love keeps us alive

LENTAMENTE DESAPARECENDO
Eu sinto a mágoa lentamente desaparecendo
Lentamente desaparecendo
Eu sinto a mágoa lentamente desaparecendo
Lentamente desaparecendo
Nós sobreviveremos ao mundo frio lá fora
De alguma forma, esse amor nos mantém vivos
Eu sinto isso de manhã
Eu sinto isso durante todo o dia
Eu sinto a mágoa desaparecendo
Lentamente desaparecendo
