  • I show you how to form a concrete porch. This is how to form concrete on top of a porch wall. I show how to screw the boards into the block. Next I show how to get the right height on the form board. We use shingles to cover the holes in the block cores, and snap a line for our height against the house. I hope this was helpful, please comment any questions you have, I'll be happy to answer. Thanks for watching!

Did you pitch the boards to create the proper pitch for the slab?

Great video. I'm in yhe middle of something very similar. I thought I would have to fill in the cinder block cavities. Will that roof shingle prevent the concrete slab falling into the block holes?

What is the material against the wood framing to protect it from the concrete? I have a similar project coming up. Years ago we used to use ice and water sheild. Is there a better product for that?

A guy in pa on yt said use shingle between metal decking and block to prevent block from cracking. The concrete company im using didnt lay any. The foundation walls are uneven so they ran batter board below the foundation wall line. The concrete will wrap over and onto the foundation walls in most areas, is that a problem?

You boys would do yourself a favor by having a tool pouch on, saves time.. just saying.

I'm going to pour an underground storm shelter concrete roof on steel panels with block walls. I've thought about the 2x4s to make a overhang and even moving the 2x4s down a couple of inches so the overhang will actually go down the wall a couple of inches. Am I burning too many braincells and just pour it flush with outside of walls.

I would do it flush. I would make sure to make the rebar in the block cores long enough to bend over into the roof pour. Lots of rebar will help with the strength
