You can’t make 9 changes and expect a continuation of the successful run unless those 9 changes are exceptional. However it was a game to highlight those who can and those who can’t.
Miggy looks like a player from the past where you can see now the squad is slowly upgrading and previous guaranteed first team players are being left behind
Longstaff and Almiron are dreadful.
Maybe but you can't fault their commitment.
Both have in the past, had great games and given a lot to the club.
Sadly now I do believe they have nothing left to give and need to be sold.
@@lookskyewalkerThere are thousands in that Gallowgate Stand who will give more than Lobgstaff.
longstaff was awful and so was almiron
Longstaff has made it an art in giving 100% but not affecting a game.
Both of them need to be sold asap.
Yes sell both, Kelly not good neither for money he reported to be on another player nobody will take off our hands.
Thanks lads great review
So pleased for young Wil to get the goal it was a cracker. Miley and Target played very well but Sean and Barnes were bloody awful
And almiron was pathetic
Good evening lads, watched from the Milburn paddock for the first time in 45 years, forgot what a good seat and view that is! Osula Gordon and Matty Target were standout for me. Miley must be the first change from our standard midfield after that performance, so fast with his passing, the understudy for our midfield. Another assured performance from him must now be promoted as his class shows every time
I think I we are a very loyal fan base to a fault.
I do think players like Almiron, Longstaff etc have been great servants to the club but it’s time to move forward and let some of these guys go.
Looks like Osula could also possibly play cover for Murphy on the right wing - cracking left footed goal from the right wing for a right footed player.
Get a few games with big or decent lead by the last 20m, put Osula RW, and give it a test.
But also, Sasuni looked fairly decent on the RW and LW, id have him on the bench before Almiron, more promise going forward
Miggy and Longstaff needs sold asap, neither offer anything to the team.
Longstaffs touch is so poor, he can't string a pass together, people groan because when he is on the ball he normally screws up an attack or gives the ball away.
I agree about the Almiron criticism as he was poor yet again and been poor for a long while but imo Longstaff was the worst player on the pitch by a country mile. He was absolutely dreadful. He didn't just lack that final ball, he lacked everything - movement was really slow, dilly dallying on the ball, not reading anything around him, giving the ball away constantly, tripping over his own legs - you name it that was Longstaff today. Before the game my view was that we needed a sprinkle of our 1st team main-stays in there to see us through and by god did we need it because when Gordon & Bruno came on the entire team played differently with allot more balance and Bromley didn't have a sniff. I felt players like Bruno could easily do 45 mins against this level of opposition and be fine for Weds game
Glad more people are opening their eyes to what I have been saying for 2 years now.
The Partys over for Almiron now and its time to move on
As well as that I think Sean's times over as well and he should do himself a favour and join his brother in the US.
Lewis Miley was so composed for 18years today, what a cracking showing!!!!
Trunp hasn't invaded Canada yet ;)
Almiron and Longstaff kept us in the division despite management and ownership.
@@lookskyewalker No they didn't
@@lookskyewalkerYou've got a point but that was then and not now and the standard has risen.
Sean is outstanding in terms of his game intelligence
Valuable member of
The squad
Longstaff was so bad throughout the game. Absolutely maddening the Howe continues to think he can be relied upon more than Miley
Dear all,
Canny video as always👍
I prefer Dubs in goal now rather than Pope🙏
Regards,
P.S. Liam slacking again🤪😜😛🙏
will osula showed me why he hasn't been on the pitch much, there is so much raw potential which needs moulding and directing much like hall, just needs that bit of time with eddie howe will see how he is next season but can see him as one of the next big eddie how player
Barnes had a good shot that was very close, put a good cross in that Osula nearly got to and linked up well with Targett. He wasn’t amazing, would be nice to have seen a bit more, but I find that Barnes is very strangely judged a lot harsher than most other players.
Lewis Miley MOM by a distance! Pleased Toon stopped on field with Bromley and gave their team and fans the applause they deserved. On another note some of second string showed exactly why they are second string!!!!
Will Osula goal very Isak esque ! diy goal ! hopefully more to come
My guess with Dubs is that last Summer, he could have gone, but the club was unsure how Pope would return from his injury, so a gentlemen's agreement to go in January was reached. However, another injury has scuppered that, and they want to compensate him with a loyalty bonus to stay until he goes on a free in June.
I was impressed by Matt target
Saying kelly was at fault for that pass is abit harsh. Give credit to the defender for reading it.
Almiron definitely didn't put himself in the shop window, and I am now questioning is he just here for the dosh?
Longstaff was bloody awful.
Osula's movement was bad, but to be fair to the lad, he scored a good goal.
We need signings before offloading, over to you, Paul Mitchell.
Mackems and Boro had less fans combined then what we had today. Barnes not on it and looked disgruntled, Miggy and Longstaff were also dreadful. Good on Matt Targett. Tempo much better second half and glad we are through to next round.
Thought Trippier was very poor - every pass was backwards and slowed any attacking momentum
@@RonJones-j5y not much he could do with Miggy as his forward outlet.
Not enough people giving Bromley credit for the way they set up against us. We always struggle against teams who sit in even with our 1st XI, and they did really well to keep us out until they inevitably tired out in the 2nd half. Longstaff in particular always struggles in situations which require speed of thought & touch. He's much better when we are sitting in against a more attacking opponent. Same with Miggy who is best when counter attacking.
Miggy and longstaff were very poor. Miggy has to go
Lonsgtaff too
Osula a possible for the right wing as well as forward? Quick, powerful, cuts in from the right, Mbuemo junior?
Barnes not coming for the ball from Kelly was as culpable for the Bromley opportunities…
That was a terrible ball from Kelly barns was going forward not enough on the pass
I might be wrong but I think the last time Newcastle won 9 games in a row was under Kevin Keegan. 1992?
I think people forget how good Nick Pope has been at saving goals at times & is bound to be practicing & improving in all areas of Keeping, like distribution &footwork , we wont get much for debravka by summer but hes done well recently!
Longstaff was poor today but I hate to break to everyone but if we get in the Champions League he will most likely stay due to our lack of senior club trained players (he’s the only one). Such a shame we had to sell Elliott Anderson. Miggy is finished at Newcastle and Barnes just doesn’t fit our system or style of play, I think he should be the PSR sacrifice in the summer. Targett was good and is a solid player but is on strong money and is basically competing with Kelly for back up left back. Kelly has age and positional flexibility on his side.
if fringe players were supposed to back up knocking at the door of the manager for a first-team place, most of them were knocking on the wrong door, the exit door imo,
I reckon if we find a club for Targett, we have to keep Tripps for cover until end of season.
Where’s Liam?
And i have always said miley and osula should be given more starts
King Louie and William the Conqueror.
Yea, it was only a brave Bromley side, but no bugga was saving them two😁
Be madness to keep Dubz beyond this summer, he's 36. I'd definitely keep him for the remainder of the season though.
Reckon they didnt want to cup tie Vlacidimos so he will be more saleable in this window ???
Longstaff had looked out of his depth in the prem for sometime, but when he struggles against league 2 opposition it’s time for him to move on. He spends too long in a match hiding from the ball, he’s purposely putting himself in positions he can’t receive the ball. Whether it’s a confidence thing or he’s just not interested I don’t know. It’s very apparent though.
Miggy has never been a winger for me, was always a number 10 in the MLS. He's never had the attributes to play on the wing IMO.
Where’s Liam . I’m surprised Jordan Cronin managed to remember which day the match was
Thought he wanted to be known as lewee miley not Lewis?
Anyway, belter of a goal
Feel for longstaff and miggy just like they have brain freeze especially today.
I thought last season longstaff got knocked off the ball far too easy, surprised he’s not been bulked up a bit cos happened a few times today too
I think longstaff is sick of being a backup squad player.
Almiron, Longstaff, Barnes and Targett are my tips to hit the road. Combined income? £70 million tops.
Willock
I’m not sure Miley knows how to celebrate a goal. Every time he even tries to celebrate with others that score he looks super awkward. Haha. But he’s quite the player. Motm 💯 Been partial to Lewey since his debut. Couldn’t wait to see him back. 🙌
Longstaff also has to go. He was terrible, especially in the first half. Why Howe keeps flogging a dead horse beats me.
Thought Miley was our best midfielder last winter of the wounded. Class see him back, definitely jumped ahead of Longstaff now.
Always thought he was better than Mainoo talent wise last season, slightly younger but both breakout English CM talents. Mainoo obviously gets the attention as he’s playing for Man U, but injury came at unlucky time. Mainoo’s trajectory flat lined - who’d have thunk that!
Miley could go as far as he likes - still only 18, but technically insane. No bugger heard of him mind as plays for club outside TalkSPORT elite. West Ham were gushing over Declan Rice and Reece Oxford 😂
Howe will have him as a regular in England squad before he’s 20 if he stays fit.
didnt Sanusi come from Birmingham?
Yes
Great vid, I've just posted my first toon vlog at arsenal, got both goals limps on record. We're flying! HWTL
Miley motm 🎉 Osuala goal🎉 4th round🎉 but Miggy😮oh deary me….sad really but he needs to gan noo….all in all a canny day oot🖤🤍The season with Keegan and Kevin Sheedy et al in the ald Division 2 noo the Championship and we did 9 on the trot and if my memory/ not google serves me right we got beat by Grimsby to end the run….
WHAT A GAME.🔥.
Sanussi the new ASM
Not been wrong about Pope, his kicking is dire and feet distribution, and on crosses cannot catch the ball always flapping at it.
1st half was bad, but for guys who needed to get the dust off their boots I expected it to some extent.
Like I said watching Almiron was bloody torture and Shaun was no better.
Osula is far fro ready yet and is not the real deal, whilst Longstaff is again pilloried, remember his better contributions and leave off the abuse.
It is amazing how Target and Miggy have fallen in quality. It is definitely a mental thing. Target of course having being injured a lot has lost match sharpness. And his high wages might work against him. As a team we are not good enough against a low block. Without a proper no 10, and proper CMs we will never unlock a low block easily. That makes our transition players look awful. Longstaff is just not good enough. Miley has come leaps and bounds above him. Crowd expectations of course affects them. Barnes have no claim to start on the left. Anthony Gordon is miles ahead of him. There is a reason Gordon is a full international and Barnes is not. Barnes does not even have it in him to displace Jacob Murphy on the right. Will Osula did okay and took his goal brilliantly. He has to improve further to feature regularly even as a sub.
Lewis Miley!!!
Miggy was woeful even at home against league 2 mid-table opposition. His passing was atrocious and his forward play was with zero end product, as per usual.
Miggy and Sean were the stand out poor players for newcastle and kelly
Wasn't it all over the papers that when Pope signed he had a clause in his contract that he was newcastles number one keeper and therefore, would play if fit. If this is the case, has Dubz got to be droped when Pope comes back, or, if that does not happen will Pope and his agent be on the warpath ?
I know it probably wouldn’t happen this month but Longstaff needs to leave
Kelly was poor, along with Miggy, and Longstaff. Not surprising since they never play.
Harvey Barnes injury??? Rather convenient he was awful. Miggy loads of energy but goes round in circles and creates nothing . Longstaff was he on field ? On another note our delivery into box today was abysmal. Hey we won and that’s cup football.
Miggy good servant Jordan. Hmmm. 1 purple patch yip. Still here due to his contract and agent. £60k a week not available elsewhere.
So it's took until now for people to realise longstaff is a nothing burger
hope longstaff never wears the shirt again
Osula will never be a player as long as I’ve got a whole in my ozone
I will rephrase that.Osula will never be good enough to play for Newcastle United Long Term.
Jordan. Wimbledon? 17:03? U ok son?
sell longy and miggy they are useless
Areet truls 😊 well said
barnes didn't look comfortable at all.... is he carrying a knock....?
Muscle injury... That's why Howe pulled him at half time.
miggy and longstaff were awful
Lloyd Kelly needs to go.
@@Nathan-vw9du
he just got here... 😂
Not happening, especially with the wage he’s getting
@@Jettplayzgames hi
@@Jettplayzgames 🤣
@@ontheslide2339 🤣
Oh god……..The anti Longstaff crew have found their voice again because……… the team played badly in the first half so therefore Longstaff is crap. No actual evidence as to why Longy was “a disaster” as Charlotte Robson called him. He didn’t do any worse than anyone else. He didn’t lose the ball more, misplaced passes more or not cover space.
Also, saying “Louie Miley looked like the only player who could pick out a pass” is the same as saying ‘Dubravka was the only one making a save!’ It’s because of the position he was playing.
I think folks don’t get how the modern game is different and how the lower teams are way fitter and technically better today.
What planet are you on?? Longstaff dithers on the ball…didn’t make tackles…kept giving the ball away…kept halting our own attacks. Miley was miles ahead of Longstaff today.
i always backed longstaff, but he waqs awful today. couldnt pass, withered on the ball to long, lost the ball almost every time and could not defend.
@@MemphisFlash84 nailed it
Longstaff has no place at Newcastle United. He has nothing of value to offer this side.
he couldnt even control the ball (soft touch) when passed to him without anyone pressing him. happened multiple times. Basic football skills
Barnes is nowhere near good enough if we are to progress.
Yes he is , one bad game and the fans turn on him ffs
Gonna give him the benefit of the doubt as he was feeling a muscle strain & EVERYBODY (cept Miley) was poor in the first half.
He's a good player & a top finisher but he may have to accept his 'super-sub' role.
@@markillingworth1972 he goes missing in a lot of games and that's not good enough.
@markillingworth1972 Can't fault his finishing but so far, his overall contribution has been pretty much nil
