how do you get rid of the "shadow" effect? My text is pure white in the Text Source but its a grey in the comp

What are those buttons you are clicking at the bottom? Looks like tiles with the comp names on them? I've never seen those before. Thanks

i think you could be referring to the composition flow chart.
you can press Tab to bring it up.
then left and right arrows to toggle through your comps.
press Enter or Space bar to open the comp.
