How to Coordinate Blush & Lipstick with Eyeshadow

- Have you ever wondered how to pick the perfect blush and lipstick to go with your eyeshadow look? This may seem pretty straight forward when you do a neutral eye look....but what about when you wear coral or turquoise or green eyeshadow? In today's video, I'm going to share my top tips of how I like to do this. Obviously, this is just my personal method so feel free to take this tips and make them work according to your preferences. Hi Sharalee! Yeeeeeeesssss! I have been waiting for this video! I have worn makeup a long time and sometimes I still struggle with finding the right shades of blush and lipstick to match my eye look. I wish I had a clearer sense of what is truly warm, neutral, and cool. I get the most obvious ones, but the nuanced shades leave me stumped. Still it’s interesting to hear about monochrome looks and the general principles of color coordinating.
I actually think you've got it....with regard to undertone, if a color doesn't lean too cool or too warm, that usually means it's neutral😊 Glad you found this interesting and hopefully helpful!

This was so helpful, thank you! I never have a problem with lips because I can just wipe it off and try a different colour. But I always struggled with blush because if it doesn't go well there's not too much I can do. I try to buff some away with a dry cotton pad but that takes off the other makeup I already have on my cheeks. I think I might do my blush first then decide what eyeshadow to use. Again, thank you! Oh, and I LOVE your hair!

This is SUCH great information!!! Soooo helpful! This is a big struggle for me so now I know what to look for and everything makes a lot more sense. 😘 and wowza. That hot pink blush at the end lol. I know they don’t go on that bright but I thought the container was closed at first haha. I might need to get it....I LOVE bright colors.

You are so beautiful! How do you keep your eye shadow still there by the end of the day as well as keep your eyeliner/mascara from rubbing off onto your eyelid by the end of the day? You are so sweet, thank you!!🥰 The key to keeping eyeshadow on all day and to helping your liner and mascara not to smudge is using a really good eyeshadow primer. Have you ever tried using one? If not, you could start with the Milani Eyeshadow Primer. It's super affordable and does a great job for most people. However, if you have tried primers before and still struggle, the top two in my book are the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (Original) and the Smashbox 24 Hr Photo Finish Eyeshadow Primer. This is a very useful video. I have warm/golden undertone skin type and I wear just the basics (mascara, concealer, blush and lipstick) what would be a good blush/bronzer that I can use every day? there are too many choices and so hard to pick the right one.
So glad you found this helpful! Let's see...if you have light to medium skin with a warm undertone, the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade "Bronzer" would look great and give you a subtle, natural glow. If you are medium to deep skin tone, go up to the shade "Deep". As for blush, either Tarte's Amazonian Clay blush in "Seduce" or BareMinerals Gen Nude blush in "Let's Go Nude". Hope that helps narrow the options for you😘

Great video. Are you familiar with the Bobbi Brown Illuminating bronzer in ‘Antigua’? Most ppl use it as a blush tho. Is that something you could use with any lip/eye look? It seems to be very neutral and pulls both pink and brown.
Thank you! I've not owned the Bobbi Brown "Antigua" bronzer but looked it up and it looks really pretty! From what I could tell, it's definitely more on the pink side but if you have more pink undertones to your skin, this could look really neutral on you😊
Hi, with all the makeup you have how do you choose what you use each day? Do cool tone colors always look better on cool tone skin?
Great questions! Typically, I will coordinate my makeup and clothing choices. So, if I have a new shirt I want to wear then I'll select my makeup after choosing my clothes. However, if I have a new eyeshadow palette or have a particular makeup look I want to wear, then I will choose my clothes based on my makeup choice for the day😘 Cool tone colors will always look more "natural" on cool tone skin. However, you still can wear warm tones but they will stand out a little more.

I’m not in the beauty industry nor am I a collector so to have the volume of makeup I have is embarrassing. I’m beginning to inventory and associate cost. I’m sure It will be telling. I’m purposely wearing makeup daily so I can use up some of it but not really making a dent in any of it. In retrospect, well.., it’s done now. I’m duping the looks in the videos I watch with existing products. Let’s see how that works!😊

I have had experience with blush and lipstick going bright orange. I am very fair skinned. HELP! I can wear light blue and green eye shadows but not much else other than browns
That is a very common challenge with extremely fair skin. But, don't give up! Sounds like you also have cool undertones to your skin so you will definitely want to look for blushes and lipsticks that have those cool, blue undertones. The Benefit "Dallas" blush and Tarte's "Exposed" are two that my cool-toned friends love because they don't look orange-y at all! MAC's lipstick in Creme Cup or Midimauve would also look fantastic on you😘
