    What I'm impressed with is that this Camega even considered ebooks. During it's time, ebooks were way below mainstream and I can't imagine a vast majority of users would even have one ebook file or know where to get one or how to use one. Seems way ahead of its time.

    I think a softmodded PSP with Picodrive would be a the better option for those who want to take their Genesis games on the go. You can put a good amount of Genesis roms on a 2GB memory card and the sound is quite good, plus save states.

    RGB Scart. It's a type of video connection that is very common here in the UK. Just about every TV you can buy still comes with a Scart socket. Even modern LED flatscreens have it. It's not used so much nowadays but it gives very high picture quality. Better than S-Video and composite. Most of the old PAL consoles support RGB Scart. When hooked up to a properly calibrated screen it can make consoles like the Mega Drive/Master System look like they're outputting in HD. Google RGB Scart.

    I wish the AtGames portable unit had an MP3 player. I rarely play portable devices with the volume turned up so the sound emulation isn't a big deal, but adding MP3 player would mean one less device to carry. I have the 6-button version which has an SD slot for loading ROMs.

  • @dad7275
    @dad7275 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know the screen is a bit blurred with action but for playing Mega Drive / Genesis games I would highly recommend just picking up the old Sega Nomad. yes it is bulky but it's also original. good video. :-)

  • @LuDaCo93

    NOOOOOO! WHY COMIC SANS! Couldn't that have labeled their buttons using a font similar to the one used with CAMEGA logo.

    • @LuDaCo93
      @LuDaCo93 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. It's just that it makes things look cheap, even when they are not intended to look that way. Also when producers design something it should follow a certain style, which is intelligently chosen to give their devices uniformity and some amount of elegance. I think comic sans should be reserved for bake sale announcements in middle school, and as the official font of the "F's" put on people's tests and homework assignments, so that it angers people into trying harder just so that they don't have to look at another comic sans F in their lives.

    • @AnTran147
      @AnTran147 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi there
    Looks like someone beaten me to reviewing this device XD I bought it less than a year ago when the price of it was at £33 from Argos. Its a okay device, just not one to be taken seriously.
    The only sound distortion from the games that I noticed was Sonic 1, the sound of the music made me feel depressed XD
    Thought I saw a file on the system saying NES, so not sure if it means it can play NES games or not as I haven't checked.
    Great review on the device ^^ Keep it up!

    A nice idea. A nice aesthetical presentation. A nice picture on the back and good ergonomic layout.
    Ironically though them putting it being for kids on it, what kids have these days would be of far higher quality.
    Also like said it's a poor video camera and a major deal breaker for me is the lack of emulator support.
    Thanks for the review.

    RetroGameTech if you purchase one of these systems with all the games on it that's a legal licensed product lets say from SEGA does each of those games count as a main copy allowing you to now legally own 1 rom copy of each of the digital copies that's placed on the system? it must stretch the picture because Genesis games dont normally play in 320 wide. The AT one has an extra page of games it seems. Some of the games I emulate on my psp dont sound right. It will sometimes just be one sound like in Minish cap it was links sword.
