Wow about the trucks at Joann for weeks. Our truck was EMPTIED IN 1 day. I no longer work @ Joann but EVERY Monday I had to empty the yarn containers and stock them. I worked from 12-5 on Monday and finished up stocking the yarn Tuesday morning from 6- noon. Our manager really CRACKED THE WIP. LOL Thanks for showing us the new Christmas yarn
I saw the cakes last week in joann. They're pretty but the ones I saw were 2 weight and I don't do those. I also got the yule tide, the pink variegated, and both speckles. Making a stocking with the pink and pink speckle for my daughters as I watch. They're all so pretty! Thanks for sharing!
Last time I was at my local Jo-Ann store the lady told me that they're increasing the yarn section. I was so excited! I love when you share holiday yarns with us.

Awww, it's like your Christmas yarn made room for early holiday visitors who probably won't be staying long, lol. The lighter green in the Punch Bowl almost has a golden hue. Mayne it will work up as gold-ish. 🎍

I ordered 4 of each however Joann’s just decided to double one of them instead of filling the order the way I wanted. I hate when they just take it upon themselves to decide how your order gets filled. They need to do so much better!❤

Our Joann's is a mess. Boxes everywhere. An employee said they were not getting enough hours to get stuff done. Not sure what that means. Saw a customer putting yarn away. Hope they can get things put away soon.
You are correct, the Merry Mingle has more pink in it. The first skein had a break that changed dyelots with the new yarn. I’m not upset, just wanted to point it out. The Neon, roller skate color made in Turkey had a plastic feel, very rough, all the others were nicer. I love my neons but those will be tougher to work with. I’m really looking forward to working with the Punchbowl speckles you got too. It’s so pretty.

So I hope that there will be some left for me to play with. Also Premier has beautiful yarn as well and Yarnspirations has some cute Christmas pattern ideas for stocking stuffers and such. I am three quarters done on a cardigan and half way thru a hat and three quarters the way thru a throw blanket. LOL I have red sparkle yarn but no green or white as yet. Yes, they are waiting for Black Friday. Because they start Christmas so early it seems like they are waiting too late to put stuff out by waiting till Thanksgiving.

My local Joann is closing!!! 😢 We've had one here since at least 1977!! Im sad!! I used to shop there with my mom!! My mom is gone now and the store she relied on for sewing stuff will soon be gone

My Joann store is like yours. It’s small and boxes of yarn sit in the aisles forever. I had to dig down in a box to get a skein of Flower Power. There’s no room on the shelves to put more yarn. The big deep bins in the middle of the aisle held all the clearance yarn. There was no way to see what all was there because you couldn’t get to the bottom of it. Really sad.
Don't feel bad I have to drive over an hour to get to a Joann's or Michaels and those 2 stores are awful, if we want a good selection that isn't in unpacked boxes we have to drive e to Nashville or Knoxville. So unfortunately I have to have my orders shipped most of the time

I even had some white and some red sparkle yarn.🧶 I’m still reeling from all my premiere and Hobbii purchases. And I REALLY screwed up with Hobbii. I got these yarn cakes to make my son something and it’s FINGERING. And I don’t know WTH to do with it. 3,000 yards….what can I mix with it? A DK????? HELP 😢
You can hold it with a #2, #3 or #4 neutral color that is in the cake. Or pull from two cakes, you might have to trim some at the beginning to get the colors to match a closely as you can. Or just use a smaller hook to get a closer weave. I use a #5 hook with #2 yarn and the blanket comes out lighter but just as warm as the spaces in the yarn create heat pockets . Hope you enjoy it whatever you decide and know your son will love it. Happy Holidays!

Big Twist yarn dries fine. Just don’t dry on hot.
