  • Alex Cox's widow, Zulema Pastenes, was interviewed by the Rexburg Police Department in April of 2021. Chandler Police say Zulema's previous statements were inconsistent with what she told Gilbert Police.
Alex Cox is the man who shot and killed Charles Vallow during an argument. Charles Vallow was the estranged husband of Lori Vallow, whose children, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, were last seen in September 2019, and have not been seen since.

@@robynleighs That comes with being a Mormon. All these people were attending Temple constantly. Lori would go almost daily and worked there on Thursdays. Mormonism teaches that it is the only true church. Members can become almost arrogant in their beliefs. That's why it's so easy for offshoot cults to develop. The church has even advised members to not talk about this case. However, gossip is rampant in that religion. They thrive on it. Being seen as the perfect Mormon is everything, so they each strive to put on a perfect public face. Humility is forgotten in the drive for a perfect image. My friend left in 2018. She had been a firm believer until they uncovered the truth. She has given me a picture of life in Mormonism. She and the children had church dresses and shoes. She had to get up at 5am on Sundays to do the girls and boys hair, make sure they were perfectly dressed and prepare herself for Church. It's fascinating to hear how much "service" she had to do for the Church, even when she had little children and babies.

@@elizabethgrogan8553, in due respect, you can say the very same thing about any Fundamentalist church. Many evangelicals are indoctrinated from birth which means they cannot think logically or rationally, even about ordinary issues. It’s like their brains have been hacked! The polite term for these churches is “high demand” churches, meaning they are under extreme pressure to look and act like good Christians 24/7. Their family’s must look perfect, and they must give inordinate amounts of time to their “church.”

I still feel terrible for Zulema’s son that had to handle things when Alex was dying on the bathroom floor. You can hear that he is very uncomfortable, and that he is anxious in the 911 call. He didn’t even know this man, and she marries him, and moves him in. How many marriages did she have before? 7? She advertises herself as a relationship coach doesn’t she. You have got to love that. She can hold a conversation, but she turns that off when things get serious. Another manipulator in this gaggle of creepers. I don’t know how they wound up giving her immunity. For what? I hope the Daybell children have a good support system because I know they'll watch this and this interview is very telling. You'd have to toss out all rationale to keep thinking Chad was framed. Zulema highlights how in charge their Dad was in all this. He was the leader and prophet to these people. He called the shots ultimately because the group relied on his visions.. he had the last word.. For the sake of their mothers memory I hope they stand beside her. She loved them dearly whereas Chad loved himself and lusted over Lori and power to be a last days prophet. Tammy has sort of been left in the dust. I hope her children can see the truth even how painful that truth is. At the end of the day right is right and wrong is wrong. Anybody supporting the idea Chad was framed is turning a blind eye to truth and justice.

This is in an attempt to make her guard go down and say everything she knows in a non-threatening way. She's a very important witness as Alex is dead, Lori's playing coo coo and Chad portaled his self into being oblivious to EVERYTHING and Melanie P. is echoing Chad pretending to be completely oblivious to anything criminal (her days coming)... Zulema was in the inner circle as "Lori's protector" funny now she's helping protect society yet maybe in a way she is protecting Lori. It's not the power to manipulate the elements on earth while keeping Lori in a safe bubble (biggest eyeroll ever) but putting Lori away is in fact helping her. She's a very dangerous criminal. A full-on psychopath who's safest place is behind bars.

    • @Chad_Dabal
      @Chad_Dabal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

@@melissascott4361 I agree the credibility will be an issue that the defense will no doubt use. I cringed when the detectives mentioned here that they want to go over lies or "discrepancies" to get ahead of the trial. Let's hope that part doesn't get used in trial as defense will use it against them trying to hodge podge the case. Zulema is an important witness nonetheless because there is all of her text messages that help frame the mindset of the accused and show that Chad was indeed the one calling the shots along with Lori. Chad is using a defense that he was a unsuspecting victim and Zulema's digital info along with testimony will make that nearly impossible to believe. As far as the church is concerned. I see them fleeing on this. They've ex communicated Chad. He was actively telling people that in the last days (which he proclaimed they were in) the prophet and Co. wouldn't be able to "see" what lied straight ahead but HE could. This is why the group was accepting blessings from him. They really thought he was the prophet and seer of the last days to lead the 144k. You can hear how he was constantly saying how special Zulema was. I'm sure he told everyone that. That was a big component in how he assumed control. He played on people's ego or need to feel important or special. He used the mormon scripture but twisted it for his own, sick way. Once he seen the power over people that could be had by claiming his books were real and coupled with his belief people could be reincarnated he became a killer. Lori believed thru Chad's teachings that her children weren't her children and that Tylle and JJ's lives were meaningless because they were adults in heaven and had already lived many lives so they weren't killing children, they were killing demons. This is such dangerous doctrine because it makes it to where if you don't go along with Chad's "visions" you are in danger of being labeled a zombie and if you die, no worries because you'll be reborn. I can't see the church backing this because that would make congregations untamed and their prophet useless. It also makes sealed marriages unmeaningful. That's why this fringe group was having affairs. This is all against the church's teachings but Chad kept getting away with more outrageous things because he was a "visionary" and played on people's ego. He'd go to people he wanted something out of whether it be control, money or power and tell them they used to be someone spectacular in a past life and even though at first the person might not believe it eventually they would and then Chad had control over them and they in turn would leave their marriage. It's really crazy how these people had almost a group psychosis but really at the end of the day the murders came down to the same old reasons: money, lust and power.

That’s the only way to try to gain back even a little bit of trust. And if you explain WHY you lied, you might even get a little sympathy. I don’t know why it’s so hard for Zulema to admit,
“Yes I lied to the Gilbert police because:
    1. I was scared
    2. I didn’t have an immunity deal
    3. A feeling of self-preservation

I've been following this case & studied criminal behavior for a couple decades. My conclusion after hearing interviews from family & extended family including Cox's widows' interview where she explains, Cox stated "I hope they're not making me the fall guy". Add the text messages from Chad explaining to Lori how he "burned the limbs (the daughters' body was burned) then he saw a wild raccoon (the young son was described as wild & possessed) & he got "close enough to shoot". Considering the "cause of death report" for the boy it makes sense an unexpected gunshot could have easily rendered him unable to respond, since he was bound by duct tape then wrapped in a trash bag. I consider the texts between Chad & Lori a confession. Lori's texts back to Chad implicate her without doubt, in the murder of both these children.

If they only would have taken Lori into the psych evaluation she had a court order for, instead they bought her story as the victim, told her how to avoid the order. Damn how many people may have been saved? Charles, Tammy, JJ & Tylee at least. Maybe. We will never know. Charles begged everyone for help, warned the police, the courts, the people involved in the divorce, the church, told his family & friends ... No one took him serious or believed him enough that his life was in danger. Even though he asked for a protection order & psych evaluation for Lori. Probably because he was a man, and Lori - the she devil in disguise as a beautiful to look at, with a sweet baby voice psychopath, manipulating all these men, like she has all her life, got away with it long enough to destroy many more lives. So many people enabled her, Chad & Alex! No one trusted the police to go tell them what they knew. They still are trying to hide and only talk to save their own asses. RIP Charles. And all the rest of the victims. Condolences and prayers for healing to all the family and friends whose lives who will be forever bent and broken by these evil killers and their enablers. There isn’t enough justice in the universe to make any of this better for them. Show them no mercy just like they showed none to their victims. I hope Lori & Chad get the death penalty, and I hope Alex and all of the Zombie Killer cult members get what they deserve & spend eternity burning in hell. After watching interviews of Gibb and zulema I now believe chad daybell was living out a real life dungeons and dragons. And Chad was dungeon master. Calling out where demons were and how many, the group uses prayer fire water earth elements to eliminate them. Then he would deem them destroyed... oh but wait...a new one has come and several surround the house. Because the portal wasn’t sealed... I’m seeing that He merged bastardized lds doctrine and d&d to have a murderous affair...
D and d was big in lds church in Utah maybe 20+ years ago and then the church looked down on the game for fear of it leading to darkness or satan worship... this was back during satanic panic times. Chad grew up lds Mormon in Utah so I bet he has played d&d before
The difference is this is real life it isn’t a game it’s not fantasy role play
They murder anyone in their way to the ultimate prize of fulfilling their lust and trying to be worshipped as head prophets of a cult
Does anyone else see that similarity?
Of chad acting like a dungeon master with his visions and story telling pulling out past lives multiple probations, zombies, rating light and dark levels.
    I see a dungeon master
It blows my mind how many people they had believing this. They were deceiving everyone. Chad isn’t a visionary prophet counting spirits Lori doesn’t travel in closet portals they aren’t here to lead anything or anyone they re just serial killers

They arent giving her power they r luring her into a false sense of security… its the same when the officer leaves the room and leaves the door wide open, its a tactic to make her feel like shes not in an interogation its just a “casual chat/ catch up” everything these detectives donin interviews has a reason behind it… even the cant about the weather the games its make her feel at ease woth them ans bring her guard down… they wudve been studying the change in her dimeanor etc… she defo knows more than shes letting on tho… they were definately a cult and they shud all be up on charges but they have been given immunity now so they cant b touched… but an inportant thing that melanie gibb said …. “Chad and lori arent the only ppl who believe these things” so trhere is absolutely others, melanie deboaux is defo in on it in my opinion…and they all did regular podcasts… so who r the ppl listening to them? They were obvs making them for ppl to hear… i think gibb did know alot butni think they cudnt fully brainwash her hence emwhy they never told her she had a “power” as to leave her out in a sense so she wud work harder to be in more with them if that makes sense but she didnt she went the opposite way when it came to the children being missing… its heartbreaking what happened to those children but in a way they have saved probably alot of ppl because them going missing brought to light wat these whack jobs were doing… doendt make it any easier wrap ur head around the whole thing is crazy! And the kicker about the whole thing is if someone had just listened to charles from the start none of this wudve happened… he knew she was going nutts and no one wud listen to him… he told the police everything and they took no notice…now they wanna be “thorough” because they must feel a little guilt in some way that they had a few chances to save those kids and they did nothing :( so so sad for all the victims… the daybell kids think he was framed 😂 he was the driving force… denial at its finest… this whole case has just been insane… lock up these wackos n stop wasting everyones time its so cleae what happened here… and if earth rules didnt apply to chad n lori n their BS then they shudnt b entitled to a fair trial
