Just want to pop in and say that I love your super positive delivery and your attention to rare games on systems that we never really saw in the US like the PC98 and Amiga. Great channel!
44:15 I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the Zanzibar Land national anthem is just “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Further proof of Big Boss’s love for Santa.
My little brother got “toy commander” the year it came out for Christmas and played it all the time. I haven’t thought about that game in easily twenty years. Thank you for the memory unlock.
I'm sad that you missed out on the screaming plants cheatcode for Die Hard Triology, it will make you laugh hard!! 18:21 That guy dresses like Jotaro Kujo!!
Great video! I really need to play a Metal Gear game. Snatcher on Mega-CD is actually a port of the PC Engine version, with some new graphics. It was also only released in the west, while the PC Engine version was only released in Japan.
Would love to see Cave Story's Secret Santa make the list if you decide to revisit this topic on a future Christmas. It's nice to see a series bring back the "weird Christmas tie-in side game"
Between the Grinch and the Metal Gear games, I am reminded of a couple of Christmas-themed fangames called "Merry Gear Solid" and "Merry Gear Solid 2: The Ghosts of Christmas Past." While the first game is a pretty bare bones stealth game, the sequel is dripping with campy charm at every turn. (Keep in mind, the sequel assumes you have completed the first. Otherwise, certain beats won't make any sense.) Perhaps one of the biggest problems is when you are caught, you fail instantly, but at least checkpoints are very forgiving.
12:56 Dynamite Deka is actually on PS2 as well its both the arcade version and a enhanced graphics version as part of the sega ages series if i recall correctly, i even bought it on the Japanese playstation store for ps3 as a digital title
@@st1kawelp, I'm Italian, and can confirm I bought myself the game when randomly finding it on a GameStop ages ago. I actually played the first game before it, Disaster Report, had no idea Raw Danger was like the second game of the Zettai Zetsumi Toshi series until I read about it way later.
Snow Bros may be obviously Bubbly Bobbly, but it's not a cheap clone Snow Bros. may wear it's inspiration on it's sleeve so much it feels like a sequel, but it's a solid game. I agree, check it out.
Awesome video! Christmas Nights is amazing! Die Hard Arcade is fun but feels abet unresponsive compared to Dynamite Cop 2 on Dreamcast! Batman Returns on Sega CD is fun but yes hard! Deathsmiles 2 is a lot of fun!
What better way to celebrate the holidays. Is playing some good old fashioned video games, and the ones I like the most are the Batman Returns games on every system it's in. Happy Holidays you wonderful video game wizard.

@@st1ka The proof is in the work you do, and that work has been consistently excellent. Thank you for replying and here is hoping all our holidays are pleasant.
For a couple of extras, theres Xmas Lemmings (a fair few reskinned levels of lemmings), Xmas Mode in Tyrian (changes plenty of sprites for a holiday theme), Worms 3 has an xmas update (Santa airstrikes are hilarious), which are all quite good. And Fire & Ice (a winter themed platformer, though its not great).
Freezeezeey Peak from Banjo-Kazooie is my favorite Christmas anything in games. From the moment you step into the world it's just instant joy. The music is boppin, there's Christmas decorations everywhere, the snow makes a satisfying crunch as you run over it; it's just pure Christmas bliss.
Jazz Jackrabbit was one of my favorite games so much fun :) and also a Pc-98 that lives and isn't owned by that 1 guy in 16 bit revolution and the Calfornia Raisins rofl.
Hey @St1ka love the video! You missed two of my favourite Christmas games - Trackmania Snow (part of Trackmania United Forever on Steam) - You can substitute your own Christmas themed music into the game and download lots of snowy Christmas themed levels. Secondly, Unreal Tournament 2004 with the Grinch mod that substitutes the flag in CTF for a Christmas tree, and health packs for candy canes.
I just started playing Snatcher about a month ago. Almost beat it, but that final shooting section is HARD! Makes me wonder if the MSX2 version is any easier, considering they probably couldn't fit as many insectors on-screen as in the Sega CD version. Also, not sure what emulator is being used in this video, but it sounds like the music in Snatcher is clipping when it shouldn't be. Also, M2 ported Dynamite Deka to the PS2, and that one is probably closer to the arcade than the Saturn port is.
I've never tried to emulate a PS2 game, but I assume it wouldn't do well emulating while capturing footage xD and I have no way of playing PS2 imports :\
@@st1ka Third party guns with a "Normal/Guncon" switch will work in "Normal" mode. The gun shown in the manual appears to be the Konami Hyper Blaster which I can confirm works (and is probably the best "normal" light gun I've used on the PlayStation). There is also a Guncon patch. The Saturn version works with the Virtua Gun but it's such a slideshow I can't really recommend it!
Great video! Sorry for being a little late, but I had few things to do. Also the compilation versions of metal gear 2 changed the character profiles, with for me isn't that bad, since characters look more like they do in other games of the series. Also, Merry Christmas to everyone!🎅🎄🎁☃️👍
Yeah I actually used the MSX version on purpose because of the portraits. There's something so funny about seeing obviously famous actors in a game that has nothing to do with them
Snow bros reminds me of one of my favourite arcade games, Nightmare in the Dark... Except, according to online, this came out 10 years earlier. You mean, I've been playing a knockoff this entire time? Eh, still a good game.
I play the Dreamcast game Toy Commander Demo almost every year around Xmas and the game is so addictive and fun so having these extra levels in an exclusive demo makes for a great fun and random time. I hear there is a spring demo of the Toy Commander demo as well that includes a Thanksgiving or Easter level but haven't played that 1 yet,but regardless I love how you mentioned the games special Xmas demo and it's totally worth trying out if you can. Sk1ka RoOlZ! Merry Xmas man.

Really great list, makes it easier to choose what to play over the next few weeks (well, a couple I might have to skip due to the language barrier...) Have you played the Game Gear version of Batman Returns? It's not quite the same as the Master System version, e.g. Batman has a health bar instead of one-hit deaths and there are cutscenes.
Was that a Jojo reference on the 2nd PC-98 game? Also, that Joker sounded different from Mark Hamill, although still a solid performance with the same voice mannerisms. Anyway, great video as always. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
I cannot believe you missed Outlaw Golf Christmas edition. Outlaw Golf is still the best golf mechanics ever used on a golf game. Tiger Woods doesn't even come close. Plus you get the fun and silly antics of beating up your caddy!!!! Oh well. No one's perfect.
