There was a confession in the case of Jennifer Beard by Reginald Wildbore. However, the day he was due to be arrested for unrelated crimes he committed suicide. I don’t believe he has been 100% determined to be her killer but I would hope there’s still an ongoing investigation into him.
I'm astonished to read this. I guess it's a generational thing because although I was very young when she was murdered, I remember the nightly news in black&white t.v. no less, seeking information into her whereabouts. I must've just turned five years old when this happened. It gripped the imagination of the entire nation and like the _Arthur Allan Thomas/Crewe Murders_ case, I assumed everyone knows about them. They're both fascinating because although with the Crewe case, the cops were proven to have falsified a lot of evidence, it couldn't be categorically proven in the case of Jennifer Beard's alleged killer. There's a few more of these cases, another being the disappearance of eighteen year old Mona Blades, on the Napier-Taupo highway. I was still at primary school when this young woman disappeared, never to be seen again.
