I don’t think the prices of the rentals around there helps. My daughter lives in a student house share in Boscombe with 7 other students. She’s paying £700 rent a month. It’s the same rental price as where we live in London.

Homeless problem in Bournemouth has always broken my heart, when I lived there I'd pass at least 10 rough sleepers on my way to work, all of them were lovely people, always polite and grateful for any help I could offer, I just wish it was more. I hope a ton of people see this video and help support these charities, they are an absolute lifeline when the councils are failing 😢

i grew up and live in the bpc area and my sister came home to visit me recently and was utterly shocked by the state of Bournemouth in particular, with the state of the town and the homelessness.
A good friend of mine who lived in the centre of town moved out a few months ago because of the crime and degenerate behaviour.
I grew up here IN THE 70'S, 80'S and 90's and i can tell you Bournemouth has gone from a beautiful clean, safe vibrant place to a cesspit in the last 15 years. The beech is still pretty good but not much else . i miss the old days ! God ! It used to be an amazing place.

It’s a serious issue where the image and value of Sandbanks/Canford Cliffs is more important to the hierarchy of BCP than the safety and security of its people. They rather take care of the billionaire Sandbanks residents than its own people. The area is fucked.

Then after some years we started to go ''Up market'' to Bournemouth!! we felt so privileged to go there, we had ''arrived'', It was so smart, a lovely place, so well taken care of. Bournemouth was really lovely back in the 1970s, as others here have said. I had the best holidays here with my family, staying in a lovely bed and breakfast in Christchurch. It was the sort of place you wish you lived full time. We had leisurely days on Bournemouth beach and I remember the warm halcyon days, colourful beach huts and the buzz which came from a lovely busy holiday resort. What a shocking deterioration! I live in Scotland but my mum's sister lived down there, in the 70s we used to holiday in boscombe and visit pool pottery, the new forest and such, I had not been down for nearly 50 years, but promised it was on my bucket list, so we visited last year and it honestly broke my heart. All those fond memories were gone. If my parents could see it now, it was the fondest and best memories of my childhood and I wanted to retire there, it's still a beautiful place, but the little things like the train that used to turn around on a little circle thing and the shell house are gone, we used to eat breakfast at a little bowling club. It was such an amazing place and the English ppl were the most happy welcoming ppl I have honestly met, as I write this it brings tears to my eyes, what the hell has happened to the UK, even the shops have all gone, replaced by takeaway places, I have dreamt of this place for years and will hold it close to my heart. I too spent many a happy hour riding the miniature train in Poole park as a child while on holiday in the 70s/80s. We go back to Bournemouth now for day trips and although it's gone massively downhill, it's still a nice place in comparison to many other British places. Some British towns and cities are completely gone, you just don't want to go there full stop and I doubt that they are ever coming back to civilisation.

Shocking what has happened to Britain since I left for the west of Ireland in 1979. Squatting was usual back then. No homeless on the street, weed was the most common drug, a handful of Pakistanis and great Indian shops.
The state of the nation is jaw dropping now. The government must have squandered vast wealth over the years for it to end up in this state, and the drug gangs have monopolized this vision of dystopia.

    • @catsploitation
      @catsploitation 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

It’s not that the government squandered wealth, no doubt the management has been abysmal, but it’s really the super rich. They don’t pay tax. They take profits and buy all our assets, water, rail, everything, and they don’t pay tax. They offshore industry to the cheapest usually Chinese bidder and all our factories and shipyards have gone. We make nothing. They make profit. They buy assets, housing, and prices snd rents rise, food costs rise, wages do not rise. Governments are all in debt and shrinking, in debt to who? The rich. Shrinking why? Because the assets are being or have been sold, to the rich. You’re getting poorer because they are getting richer. Much rich. Inequality is rising faster today than at any time in human history

You didn't mention two or the main reasons for the decline of Bournemouth. DWP (Dave Wells) homes/housing partnership. They bought up a lot of properties in areas like Boscome. Made them into bedsits. Rented out at close to the maximum amount people can obtain in housing allowance/benefits. Then they moved in some less than desirsbles with a lot of problems from outside the area. DWP rakes in many millions a year in housing payments from the DWP. The state of some of the properties is very poor so they dont exactly spend the millions of pounds on repairs.
Another reason is the number of drug treatment places that opened in Bournemouth in the 80s onwards. Drug treatment programmes don't always work if there's no wrap around support services for people wheb they finish the treatment program. Im sure many people end up staying in Bournemouth after their treatment.
I am glad your video is helping BCP pull their finger out as they dont like the bad publicity. We are humans sound like they are doing sone fantastic work. There is some hope for the town.

If you have to sleep in the toilets, leave them CLEANER than you found them. I used to have a bottle of cleaning spray and a couple of cloths and I used to stay in a disabled toilet that used to be kept locked. I chatted to the cleaner and every night I’d meet them by the toilets, help them clean the male and female toilets and then they would leave the disabled toilet for me to stay in. We did this for months until another couple came to town, they saw me going into that toilet an wanted it for themselves. So the next night, just after the cleaner had left someone knocked on the door and, presuming it was the cleaner, I opened the door and was badly beaten by the couple… they claimed the toilet, stayed 1 night and the toilet was once again locked. That was the end of my sleeping in toilets! ✌🏻🇬🇧

Im a single dad and "bcp council" owed my son and I a duty of care yet they evicted us from the temporary accomodation they allocated us whilst he was doing his GCSE exams claiming we didnt use enough energy and that there was nothing I could do about it despite having evidence of what they had done- putting us on the street and we are still on the street.
Constant energy usage was not a rule of tenancy and they used this "insane" excuse in order to avoid acknowledging my GP and evict us as my GP was stating that it was not suitable.
They claimed we didnt use the property because energy usage was low, despite me having to record evidence that we did and we did not break one single rule of the tenancy agreement.
It was our only home , my sons school location and lack of transport meant we ate often before we went back at night.
My son also has clubs to attend so far away from where the flat they allocated to us was that this was not avoidable.
Thy wanted us in the flat all of the time using energy which is not cheap.
Its like they have an agreement with the energy supplier or governemt to use energy and we didnt follow suit.
We were responsible for the bill, I paid the enegy company so this was not even their business but they quite literally made it their business.
Theyre now forcing us through winter on the street - it's attempted murder, we are literally going to die.
Social services almost had my son killed they cant be trusted, it's all on police record too.
I've seen first hand what our local council do to people and this county,
When I complained the council had me arrested and I was assaulted by the local police in front of my mother and child.
They then released me and werent able to prosecute as I wasnt in the wrong.
When complaining about the police they said it was common practice to knee people in the legs and threten with pepper spray and also failed to acknowledge that I had complaned at the station.
Oh, and Im disabled and now suffering further injuries due to the council.
2 years ago before we trusted the council - we had lives, now we are in ruins.
They lie, manipulate, bully , abuse and neglect, and what's more - I recorded every call and have evidence to support it all.
I have had to stop the council from causing death to my son already whilst they harboured him, didnt tell me where he was until he had been confronted by a gang with a machette and now they are trying to kill us both through ignorance this winter.
They are trying to kill us to get rid of us.
They did not provide what is required under duty of care , have ignored my GP, until now, my sons school, my sons GP and their own social services department who they pulled out of the case they caused so their employers could consider "the best legal action against us"????? and then they washed their hands completely to avoid having to acknowledge any GP input.
These were their exact words and I have the call recorded along with all calls from the past 2 years, because they started this a long time ago, the lying, isolating and ignoring.
I also have these calls backed up.
It's literally murder of the people they should be caring for.
I couldn't get away with tying to kill anyone, how can they do this? It never used to be like this and I'm not so stupid that I don't know what's going on.

Shelter told us to go back to them as social services have a responsibility to house us under section 17 but when we did they tried to take my son into care giving no other solution, and their slogan is "keeping families together".

As a former local nurse I have seen it fall into the gutter since the mid 80s & it is heartbreaking. I have just started 'G3' ("Gardening Gives Grace") an informal group for survivors of D&S Ab, plus those with chronic illness or in recovery from addiction where we just sit over a brew and a bake (all free) and chew the fat whilst making up pot plants, seeds, fruit and veg. You'd be amazed how much more positive our members leave after just an hour. One couple (living similarly to your amazing tent couple) even started growing their own earlier this year, only to have it dug up and destroyed by (apparently) council enforcement to force them to move on. My daughter attends the local college in Bournemouth and I have to pick her up if she’s at college when it gets dark because it’s so dangerous round the lansdowne campus area of the college. It’s awash with addicts shuffling around looking like zombies, homeless people and immigrants. Every week someone is raped or stabbed in the town. It’s not safe. Lots of my friends have also banned their children from going to Bournemouth in the evening because of the number of murders there are now. I have no idea what BCP Council is doing about this but it is well known in the area for being one of the most corrupt councils in England.

As a lecturer at the Bournemouth Site, I am sorry to hear this. The college has a permanent security presence, who will not let anyone in without a purpose to be there. I wouldn't say the campus is any more dangerous than the rest of town. Or, in fact anywhere else. I was with students and dropped them back on Friday from an educational trip, My colleagues and I stayed with the students till they were all picked up (As a parent myself, I would hope that the schools would do that for my child, so I do the same, right?) for good measure, but there was zero risk, and in fact the only people that came past us were 4 students on their way to the beach and a couple coming back from the beach. - Not typical I know, but far from the horrors the main stream media portray.
I can however agree with the town. I went in to town with my parents when they visited recently. After about 8pm, there is a sinister air in the town, and one of unease. Teenagers fighting, drunks sitting in doorways, It just did not feel safe, and was not somewhere I wanted my family to be. - From the cosy club to the BH2 car park we did not see a single police officer patrolling. With constant increases in policing enhancements for the council tax that the PCC requests, it would be nice to be able to walk through my home town and see one or two of them around!

BPC is happy to put illegal immigrants in hotels plus give them money, whilst ignoring homeless indigenous people. Some of those rundown hotels could be turned into shelter for the homeless. Sadly, there has been a drug problem in Boscombe since the 1960`s.

Thirdly we need to look at why this is happening in modern society. There is so much unnecessary stress in the modern world it’s hardly surprising we see this sort of thing.

Great video but you missed so many points, you failed to show the closed shops due to high rents, the missing public toilets that have been removed, the poor roads, how dirty the town is and run down and that Boscombe used to be a very rich area in the 1950's and before.
you could of mentioned the Boscombe devil and the reason for the elephant painting above one of the biggest empty shops there which also has a link to major pop & rock groups. the failings of the council by fitting a pedestrian walkway down Boscombe high street causing the local business's to fail, the lack of jobs in the area and there are so many families struggling, no NHS dentists in the area willing to take new clients, there are so many hidden homeless in Bournemouth that no one see's (many years ago I was one of them) a place called the junction helps the younger homeless and WAH seem to be doing a great job, but there is so much more depravity in Bournemouth that you didn't see or mention.

So sorry to see this. Bournemouth used to be a fun, thriving party town in the 1980s. Also, Poole was very upmarket. Sadly, this appears to be happening all over the UK and with an uncaring government, will only get far worse. There is no such thing as affordable housing. The only people buying so called affordable housing are coming from out of the area who already owned a house. The average wage has not kept up with house prices. I have watched other videos on Bournemouth and they all tell a completely different story. Some of them show it to be good and others, the worst.

I lived in Bournemouth around 2015 and there were a lot of homeless people then. Went back there again a couple years ago and was shocked by how visibly worse it had gotten... it was like The Walking Dead. Homeless people on every bench and in every shop front, groups of men drinking bottles of vodka in broad daylight, even saw a guy inhaling solvents in the middle of the street.
More shockingly it's still like a giant holiday camp compared to London...

If you ask them, they will tell you that the herd should consider themselves lucky regarding how well they are treated in England and will show you countless other farms where the cattle are treated much worse.
