Are you SERIOUS? Cuing the flutist and organist, who are professionals and know when they are to enter, is a sign of a great musician? You're easy to please.
@@issues9828 Bobby was a seriously talented musician. He was proficient at playing the guitar, drums, piano, and harmonica. I believe Darin was the most versatile entertainer of the 20th century. What he accomplished in his brief 37 years is nothing short of Legendary. Singer (rock, jazz, blues, R&B, pop standards, big band, swing, country western, folk, funk, soul/gospel) musician, performer, actor, impressionist, songwriter, producer, arranger, entrepreneur, variety tv show host, activist. The man truly did it all, and he did it all so well. One of a kind, Bobby.
My comment had nothing to do with whether or not Bobby was a great musician. My comment had solely to do with his stated criteria for judging Bobby's talent. @@timetowakeup6302
I still love this so much 💞✨😭 My husband is a carpenter and today is our Anniversary. I searched out this song specifically ❤️🔥🌟💫 These two Men are such beautiful Souls ✨
wowowow, i love bobby...i was maybe 6 and told my mom how great he is and she totally agreed...she was a class act and I do miss her....mom this is for you xoxo
Those variety shows of the sixties are American gold. Look at this two superstars on a weekly show. Tom Jones signing with CSN&Y, Andy William's making Simon & Garfunkle a trio.
I still laugh my late daughter who died far too early she was beautiful she had a hanger on who drove a Porsche car nothing to look at anyway he came into my house one day went straight to the mirror combing his hair I thought I will bring you down to size I said who the he'll would look at you if you rode a pushbike he left with his tail between his legs end of lol x
He was very ill when this was filmed. I’ve always had a major soft spot for him because if it weren’t for modern medicine I’d have suffered the same fate. I was a strep carrier when I was a kid. My doctor took out my tonsils & put me on a month long course of strong antibiotics before it reached the point of turning into rheumatic fever and/or scarlet fever. Taking antibiotics for years trying to fight off the strep has ruined my gut biome though so I didn’t get off Scott free. Now whenever I take antibiotics they make me really sick including the occasional c-diff which is a nightmare. I’d be dead by now if it weren’t for modern medicine.
Love bobby darin and love this song! Im so glad the extremely talented stevie wonder chose this and they are both such great performers you could tell stevie didnt want to overshadow bobby but darin being a true musician at heart he saw the raw talent and knew what stevie had to offer his song and when he says i cant hear ya now stevie knew just what that meant and really took it away and i just love how they both came together at the end so respectful so beautiful and just everyone loving and enjoying every minute of it including the 2 of them this must be what god truly loves to watch his creations do everything else is devils play.
A year later he would die. People wouldn't imagine the revolution Bobby Darin's music started all over the world, most of all in Brazil. Gone too soon, Bobby. You were a true star.
This is the by far the coolest version of this song. Stevie adds soul to this classic I even love the pianist mistakes because it proves this is live and that Bobby can still roll with the flow and save a performance
What an amazing fuckin video. Two greats doing a great song. I just love the adlibing that Bobby does when Stevie sings. This is a great great cover. This is truely a gem
This is so precious piece of history. What a video of a great song from two great but different artists. Thank you so much Bobby & Stevie. This is a better quality video than the other one out there. Thanks for posting.

Bobby Darin and Stevie Wonder two greats rocking it out. I'm grateful to see this again and be reminded of just what music really was like…….. REAL. Watched all the programs back then and miss the ENTERTAINMENT. Today's programers have a lot to learn about entertainment that's for sure.
These type of variety shows are sorely missed today. One of the best thing about a show like this and The Carol Burnett Show, etc. were that they would have singers pair up with other famous singers and do songs together that weren't their own. Such great performances.
so disappointing these two didn't work on this more, its just brilliant , but could be so much more , don't mean to be negative , this is one of my favourite interaction with two singers , just don't understand why it wasn't fine tuned and everywhere. hidden gem.
WHAT A TEAM, ONE OF THOSE 1 IN A LIFE TIME PERFORMANCE ! Happy Birthday Bobby } two Great talents in a Perfect Blend. they just don't make em Like That any more.
Great clear version. I had seen a snowy version on You Tube. they are great in this version. The singers have the tying and yang flowing perfectly in this set. It only shows what a talent both men are.
Life is so unbearable and to many impossible, but having moments in music (and music at all) is a life saver ❤
Just seeing their enjoyment brings happiness
There will NEVER EVER BE SINGERS AND ENTERTAINERS LIKE THESE IN THE 1960s AGAIN!!!
Hello how are you doing hope you don’t mind me being friend with you 😊😊
Right! No slu*s twerking and no foul language. This is/was music.

Bobby Darin and Stevie Wonder 😍 ❤️ ♥️ 💙 🙌 👌!

Bobby's whole body was a drum machine. He sets a deep grove, sings a duet, cues the flute, and brings in the organist. What a musician!

Bobby Darin was such a genius.
Tim Hardin was a genius.
Man, even the flute is killing it....just blown away. You know they would have gone on for ten more minutes, jamming away, but for tv..
This is beautiful on SO many levels.
Talent and moments like this will NEVER be repeated again.
How do you know?
Christ, what a spellbinging song, what a piece of history.
If I were in the crowd I would have cried. Stevies voice is just too amazing 3
Bobby and Stevie taking us to church! Amazing!
Masters of their craft....
this is amazing...two super musicians....incredible
Stevie is only 19 years old here! Amazing!
And Bobby was only 33 around that time.
I love how Bobby throws his whole body into the song
wowowow, i love bobby...i was maybe 6 and told my mom how great he is and she totally agreed...she was a class act and I do miss her....mom this is for you xoxo
Such a brilliant song written by a sad man who ended his life . Bobby and Stevie are just magic
No he didn't!
Incredible how it starts off a little disjointed between their two styles and then it comes together into this amazing arrangement.

Back a year later, on a "if I were a carpenter" binge...still gives me goosebumps
i find myself singing it all the time now

this is so generous by bobby darin, he's basically doing the backing for stevie wonder's amazing performance.
Man Stevie Wonder sure puts a good twist to this song he is a musical genius I did not know he was going to sound this good.
It's always a treat to see how two great performers reimagine a song.
omg two guys absolutley loving their time together. Soulful talented and beautiful. Wish this would happen in 2019 xx

I'd do anything to have it a little louder....it so fabulous
John Swans version of this song kills it and if you want load do yourself a favour and listen to John Swan sing If I were a carpenter
Pair of brilliant talents.
it is truly a shame that there are no shows like this on TV today, show casing real talent.
