Thank you for sharing! I was raised with earning money for grades and chores. I credit both with giving me a strong work ethic.

In my opinion, everyone should have a plan for their daily life and how good it is for children to learn planning from childhood. Thank you for the tips you gave and the useful video you made. 👌👌🤩🤩

When I was in school, my parents paid us for grades. I’ve homeschooled my boys, didn’t pay for grades, BUT - they’re a college freshman & junior this year, and we’ve always “allowed” them to not have a job in order to focus on school. I agree - they have the rest of their lives to work. As long as they keep their grades up, we’re comfortable with this solution. ❤

I think giving the kids an allowance for chores and school is an excellent idea. Good insensitive for them to do a good job in both areas.😊

I can always count on you to cheer me up on chemo day! I also am a BIG fan of Nikki's shop. I'm all for paying kids for chores and grades. Whatever it takes.

I agree completely with you about your “job” opinion.
By letting them have this “job” and putting them in charge of their effort towards it, will teach them work ethics.
The world isn’t gonna say “u tried your hardest”… it is gonna say “you didn’t do …, so you don’t get …” which is exactly what we teach them by labeling school and chores “their jobs”

I think it is fantastic you and your family has a plan that works for you. Every family has to do what is best for their family. We didn’t pay our kids for family chores. We didn’t mainly cause we had 7 kids and money was tight. I don’t think it is wrong to pay or not pay, just do what works for you and your family. Our kids are grown now and we have 10 grand kids and we keep our mouths shut and tell them to raise their kiddos how they want. We are just here to be their cheerleader! I have never asked our kids if they pay their kids for chores. You seem to have a lovely family. 💗💗

Thank you for sharing your organization systems. I have three kids (16, 18, 20) and I have needed a new way to organize because we now are sharing cars, which makes it complicated (my college kids live at home). You are inspiring! 👍👍👍 I don’t pay my kids for grades, but I know it works really well for some kids…one of the beauties of parenting is finding out who your kids are and what makes them tick.

I wish we had been better about chores when my kids were small. Both mine grad this summer, one from HS and one from college. We've decided they will now pay some rent (they can't afford to move out it's crazy $$$) and now that they both will just be working there will be chores again. You live in my home, as adults, you can help out. We never paid for grades, they were expected to be decent. Not straight A's, but within reason and their capabilities.

I have custody of a grandchild. Today was his first full day of 6th grade, first year in middle school. I am a licensed Optician and GM for Visionworks, so I'm a busy Memaw. I simply must have an organization system in place, not just because he needs structure, but also for myself. I have 2 planners, one for home and one for work. They're both full! As we adjust to a new schedule for him (much earlier than the past several years), I'm also adjusting to a new routine for myself, one that includes gym time in addition to time to look at my planners and ensure the days go smoothly. He's not in any extra curricular activities, at least not yet. If he does decide to do something after school, we'll figure it out, right? It's what you do! Have fun this year! My top 2 office supply items are the Frixion pens, love, love, love them, and a recent win-win; clear sticky notes! If I have to add something to my planner, but something else is already there, I just put a clear sticky over top and jot down what else needs to go there.

I just found your channel a few weeks ago. First I want to say I love your home -- it is cozy. I watch a few other people and I love their homes to but a lot seem to go with this organic modern theme and while it looks clean I find it boring and looking like a staged home. I love homes like yours, the antiques the country theme which is a lot like mine. I love the realness of your family and I am enjoying your videos very much. You are a busy mom for sure and you handle it well. God Bless!

Hello Tiffany! As always I enjoyed your video and amazing ideas. I have never used a planner but I will give it a try because my life is crazy busy 😣. Not like yours of course lol. Girl…I don’t know how you do it! I totally agree with you 💯 on our kiddos not working and just focusing on school. I have a junior in the university. He has epilepsy, so it is of utmost importance that he sleeps well. I told him not to work and just focus on school because that is his FUTURE. One of his “friends “ criticized him and me for making that decision but he told him it was one of his business. People are always ready to judge without knowing what goes on in each household. Thank you for taking the time out of your crazy busy day to share your wonderful ideas. You are truly appreciated ❤

We paid our 3 kiddos for their grades. Here in the UK grades have a number and letter. The number indicates their academic achievement and the letter indicates their approach to learning. It didn’t matter so much what there number grade was sol long as their letter grade was good. It showed us that even if they were struggling with a particular subject that they were at least trying their best. If they applied a good level of effort then the likelihood is that they will achieve good grade and if they don’t then at least they tried their best. I think it also teaches them to value what they have more. If they’ve worked for it they appreciate it more! There’s something strangely satisfying about fresh school supplies.

I absolutely love the Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planners and are so worth the $! It keeps me and my household on track, the hubs and I can do a quick look at the monthly budget though we do purchase the annual Money Planner separately also. I gifted my granddaughter the Student Planner and that not only helped her with her senior year of high school (she graduated in May😢) but it opened up dialogue on budgeting, which hadn’t been addressed by either of her parents (divorced) until she received the planner and she asked both her mom and myself about “what’s a budget?” and “why do I need a budget if I don’t have a job?” (She did a lot of babysitting her senior year and now has a full time job before college). She now knows about the why’s and how to budget and what to prioritize. When my now adult children were still at home (as minors) we had chore lists for ALL OF US and all chores had a monetary value to them and a lot of times our kids asked if they could pick up mom and dad’s assigned chores to earn more money, we said yes of course 😅! We also meal planned and every Sunday after church, we would all food prep for the week so getting dinner on the table wasn’t rushed or by the seat of our pants as we all got home from work or school. Your ideas are wonderful and so easily incorporated in today’s very busy homes.

We did something similar with chores. We paid my daughter for chores and she could earn extra if she helped me with my chores. We didn’t pay for grades, but her grandparents and auntie paid her for A’s and B’s. She was very motivated to get those A’s. LOL!!

I don’t miss those days. Both my daughters were usually in the same school. But it was crazy with two. My husband just left to pick the two younger kids from school. He took them this morning too. They live close to us. And right now one of their vehicles isn’t working. And my daughter works twelve hour days. I put stuff on my calendar. But then I don’t look at it. So my husband tells me what I put on it for any given day. Our calendar is on the pantry door. My daughter has six kids. The three younger ones are still in school. Then the youngest isn’t two yet. We usually pay our grandkids for their grades. They usually tell us how they’re doing. One granddaughter started college this week her sister is going to night school to get her GED. She didn’t do well at school. So her parents finally agreed to let her do that. Then she will take cosmetology and do hair. She does it for people now. And that’s what she wants to do.

When our kids were little we always paid our kids for their grades. It was like they were going to work (school) everyday. My daughter has her kids do one household chore because they are part of the family and the rest of the chores they get paid for.

I also agree with the chores. My kids are grown now, but we paid the kids weekly for help in the house. It is a family life, and we all helped.
We also did school shopping and made it special. They would do a fashion show with new clothes. My son would act like he was on the runway. Good memories. A structured home is key

I feel like paying for grades is fine as long as the kids all have the same possibility to get the grades. Like if one kid is neurodivergent and is really struggling while another kid is like naturally "school smart" it doesn't feel fair you knkow? Not that I think this is the way in your househould Tiffany, just my two cents ya know =)

The problem I have with paying for grades is each child achieves differently. This would have never worked with my own three children, especially since my daughter has ADHD. I worked in education (High School level) as a para-professional at both general and special education levels. My sister was always an overachiever in school. Receiving a B was never good enough - it had to be an A. She has struggled with life long anorexia and addiction problems. If my parent's had done this I hate to think where she would be. Anyhow, just my take. We have to do what is best for our own family.
