I cannot tell you enough how much I love your vlogs! Whether they are about museums, chateaus, palaces, and your every day life, I get excited to watch, as your vlogs come up. This museum was fantastic. Loving tapestries as much as I do, you brought this amazing historical place to us. Since I can no longer travel, thank you for this. The love I hear in your voice describing all of the wonderful things you do, transforms me, like I'm actually with you. Please keep your great vlogs coming, again, I love seeing your bell come up, that another vlog is about to happen!
beyond anything I could imagine. The hours / years of neddlework! Thank you for taking us along on your tour. I am speachless, stunned by their exquisite beauty.
I love this tour of the museum. I live in the USA and enjoy the stories you give when going to different places. I do have a replica tapestry of the lady and the unicorn (À MON SEUL DESIR " To MY ONLY DESIRE") that I adore. Thank you for sharing the secrets of the tapestry. It gave me some more information that I did not know.
It truly does transport you back to medieval times just standing in the presence of those stunning tapestries. So many secrets woven in threads. We are so fortunate they were found and restored. What a treasure! Thank you so much for sharing this whole video with us, absolutely loved all of it Vivienne ❤
Some of the most beautiful tapestries I have ever seen are in the Biltmore outside of Asheville, North Carolina, USA. Being from the US and Florida, I am sure you have been there Vivienne. Good to see Ashley again. You guys are such beautiful human beings inside and out. Thanks for the history lesson. You have given me a better understanding and appreciation of tapestries and the museum itself.
I got so emotional watching this. It's everything I dreamed about going to see. Castle's, tapestries, photos, statues, figures of saints. History at It's finest. Dripping off the pages, you tell the story really well.
My favorite tapestry and museum in Paris as Anger s castle tapestry ! There is always something to discover at each visit...thank you for sharing this beautiful visit. Have a good time with your sister ❤
I LOVE that smile of yours! Thanks for sharing your life with us! I needed a break from this gloomy day! I thought of making another TH-cam video, (Not monetized) but not today, would rather watch you! 😘😊 Again, thanks!
Dear Vivienne, thank you so much for sharing this tour. There is something mysterious about The Lady with the Unicorn also in my life. In my family, we were needling The Touch when I was about 10 or 12 years old, some decades ago. It went hopelessly wrong and we gave it up. Later on, my mother just bought it ready, although it was a bigger expense for our household at that time. My mother also played the piano and the organ like yours do, Vivienne. The tapisserie used to hang above the piano. I still think it fitted very well because playing the piano has much to do with touching. You might know about L'art de toucher le clavecin, the famous book of advice from the great french clavecin player Francois Couperin. I became a pianist and piano teacher as a heritage of my gifted mother. The Lady with the unicorn is still with me, some years after the death of my mummy. The Lady often crossed my way in special moments, last time when you showed your bag first, so once again today. I never was so near to the original as this time. Thank you!
I am so overwhelmed with this tour. I have loved Medieval art and its richness for years (although not appreciated by my family -- LOL). I have a village I am building which is a 1:48 scale. Within the village is a chateau (formerly called a castle) and a cathedral. Both will hold "tapestries" from that wonderful time. Thank you for taking us with you. Your channel is more than you and your family (which we love dearly) but taking us around on your visits to wonderful places fills my heart with joy and peace. Thank you.
My first encounter with Unicorn tapestries was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY, specifically, the Cloisters, when my husband and I were dating, and I found the story of the unicorn being a symbol for Jesus Christ compelling because of it's purity, uniqueness and power. After some time dating each other, I received a gift from him of a gold unicorn head on a gold chain, which was such a magical moment for me. We also came across another in the Hearst Castle in California while on vacation. Such wondrous works of art! Thank you for sharing these beautiful discoveries with us.
Over at Trocadero in the Palais Chaillot is a museum dedicated to the architectural heritage of France with an excellent presentation of medieval gothic pieces.....
You are so knowledgeable VIVIENE thank you so much for this video. I am 74 and have done tapestries all my married life. One for my daughter all about her wedding and different one's for my grandchildren when they were born its something to remember me by . ❤
For everyone interested in the tapestries, I strongly recommend reading the following book "The Lady and the Unicorn" by Tracy Chevalier. It is a beautifully written novel not just about the creation of a work of art, but also interwoven with seduction and adventure.
Vivienne you and Ashley brighten up everyone’s day..Love hearing you describe the beautiful tapestries and the wonderful memories Ashley has of your mother ..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such a treat! I have visited the Musee de Cluny and have many souvenirs from there. Absolutely, one of my favourite places to visit in Paris. Thank you.
Thank You for taking me through the Museum De Cluny the Tapestries are so Beautiful! The amazing talent of the medival and renaissance tapestry artisans is mind boggling. I am so happy that France has this museum. What a great time to visit with your sister. 🌷🌹💗
Thank you Vivienne for introducing us to the Musee de Cluny. We've walked that area so many times and didn't realise it was there. We're heading over to Paris later this year so it's definitely now on our visit of places to visit. Maria.
Hi Vivienne & Simon, I so enjoyed your tour of the Musee de Cluny I am adding it to my list of favorite places to visit when I get to Paris next. It is also treat to see you and your travel together and enjoy the sights. Mark & Scott
Your vlogs are extremely intelligent, interesting and beautiful. I am quite surprised that you haven't reached 100.000 subscribers by now. Best regards, Arsen ✨️
When I was in Paris unfortunately I did not have enough time to go to this Museum. I cannot thank you enough for doing this video. I adore these tapestries. I have a print framed in my living room. 😊 💟☮️
That was lovely Vivian - thanks so much for sharing all of this. I appreciate the time you have taken to do this informative and interesting presentation.
Thank you. I love this museum. You made such a nice presentation. Tapestries are exquisite. Next time I visit Paris, it will be on my list. Hello from Montreal Canada.
What a wonderful museum! Thank you for sharing it with your viewers. I fell in love with tapestries when I visited my mother’s beloved England when I was 12. What a treat seeing the tapestries with you and your sister, Vivienne. I learned so much. Now I have to purchase another bag from your shoppe! 🥰
Than you so much for filming this and sharing this. I appreciate all you do and teach! I hope all is wonderful for you! your Family and Chateau Love!🌹💕

I had never heard of this museum and these tapestries. They are so beautiful. Thank you for providing an historical background and sharing this beautiful venue with us 😍😍😍😍😍😍😘
The detail of the tapestries is so lovely. Thanks for taking us along, everything looked interesting and beautiful. Just sent my sister a link as she has always done tapes tires.
Okay, not going to lie here. Because my husband is napping and I have the sound down on my phone, I thought you said the lady's one desire was Courtney Love. My brain did a double-take. Courtney Love? Why! 😂😂😂 Thank you for the lovely introduction to the history of these extraordinary tapestries and for the chuckle as well.
Vivienne you never disappoint, loved the tour of the Cluny Musee. I missed this Museum and have regretted it ever since. I do hope to get back but for now I was totally delighted by your knowledge and visuals of all the tapestries and artifacts. You have so many talents! I cannot wait to watch again and again!
I enjoyed seeing this museum. And you and your sister wanted us to see everything! I never knew there are several, titled "scenes" and never imagined they are so large! Your French is amazing and so is your homework! Thanks for an incredible tour!
I purchased a tapestry at Liberty’s in London in 1992. I was told the original is in the Cluny museum. The scene is a garden with several ladies and two children. There are trees and flowers. It appears that they are picking fruit. The background is a very dark blue or black. I really love it but wish I knew more. That was a fantastic video Vivienne. Thank you so much 😍😍
WOW everything is displayed so beautifully. Thank you for this and your narrative as always perfection 👍🥰! Love your U tube site ESPECIALLY when I watch on my big screen tv JUST brings it to the next level of French culture and beauty so thank you VERY MUCH!
Absolutely extraordinary Vivienne!! Hard to fathom the works and history. And I always love seeing you with your family and friends!! Love from Mary in Southern California 💗🤗
Wow! Thank you ever so much for sharing this experience with your viewers. I have studied in Lille ll, been to Paris on many occasions and did not know this museum existed. It is on my list for my next visit. Please continue to share your experiences with us. This is truly a “hidden” gem museum, so many wonderful places are not rated highly enough ❤
Wow... Just Wow! Thank you and Ashley for bringing us along on your tour. The photography, cinematography, editing and your narration is exquisite! It literally took my breath away. I had to watch TWICE! I probably will watch again once everything is quiet in my home. 😉 Thanks again ❣️ PS: Why is the link to your "store" not working?
As perspective was not yet worked out at the time of the Middle Ages, distance was shown vertically as in those tapestries with foliage and animals, rendered two dimensionally one above the other. Also, when perspective was discovered later in the Renaissance, it was understood that the eye can never grasp detail. However, in the Medieval period, each bit of flower or foliage was rendered with minute detail. This is worth knowing next time we view medieval artwork, simply for the sheer joy of how such information deepens our appreciation of the period. It was lovely to see these techniques rendered so characteristically in those precious tapestries. Thank you for showing them to us xxxx
Love your sister time, you are so lucky to have her visit so often. I haven't been to the Cluny is years and is wonderful to see it again. also love how you have such a great connection/memories to those gorgeous tapestries. you are getting so good at your videos, this one is fabulous! and good job marketing your items into the "tapestry" of the monologue ;-)
If you are into tapestries; i recommend you some museums in Belgium; First of all the Art&History Museum located in Jubelpark/Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, MOU; museum in the city hall of Oudenaarde and TAMAT in Tournai. All the cities mentioned were known as tapestry making cities until the time when Louis XIV conquered Belgium, closed the workshops and moved the best flemish/brabantine weavers to Manufactures des Gobelins when the king was centralising all art education and manufacturing. fun fact; the tapestries hangingin the Sistine chapel in the Vatican, were woven in Brussels and costed much much more than all the paintings done by Michelangelo. Other recommendation for (flemish) tapestries is Genoa; especially in the Villa del Principe- Palazzo di Andrea Doria. Or bit more exotic; in Marsala: Museo degli Arazzi Epoca Fiamminga. Besides all this; The Musee de Cluny is one of my favourite museums in Paris. Thanks for making this video.

Thank you so much for the visit of the musée de Cluny. It's so marvellous. These tapisseries are so beautiful. I have seen carpet of this quality on the National museum in Yerevan (Armenia).
