very nice. I actually cant imagine how you can catch such a small wave on a 30L shortboard. I have issues catching far bigger waves with a mini-malibu. Btw: how you recorded this please?

@@LaggerSVK Thanks man! Happy you enjoyed it. I’m always actively paddling towards to peak when a wave approaches, which helps a lot. I’m actually finding it harder to catch bigger waves because they are so fast, you need more speed to match the speed of the wave! All of my videos are recorded on a DJI Osmo Action 4 with a mouth mount 🤙

solid video! Why is it important to keep the back foot farther back?

@@EdificioPepinutaliniThank you!! Your turns will be about twice as easy with your back foot over the back fin. You’ll be able to drive the surfboard wherever you want. Ideally you’d shuffle it back (for turns) and forth (for speed) but I’m having a hard time moving my feet around while I’m up and going. So my coach told me “Better to have it far back all the time because you can still generate speed. But you can’t turn if it’s forward” 🤙

Having the backfoot planted over the back fin was the significant step up when the thruster first hit the Waves. Take a look at videos of Simon Anderson the pioneer of three fin board, his style was to ride with his back foot right back and he discovered with the thruster that he was going significantly faster on waves (stalling can actually be difficult on them).
Even just a few inches forward and manoeuvrability drops signficantly and speed drops off quickly too.
