I was saying that a lot of people (not me) think that once they are out of school and employed they have no reason to learn. By no means do i personally think people should ever stop striving to learn all they can.
Just google it. Bonus Army. You'll find it. Tear gas, tanks, fires, they unloaded on these homeless veterans who did nothing other than "squat" in DC to demand a vote on getting these guys there promised back pay. True their pay was not due for another 10 years but the tactics the army used on its own ex-soldiers is pretty sick.
A friend told me Debs got visited by Harding at Christmas when he got out of jail. He said he was a man of charm and very interesting and he was so glad to meet Debs.
I’ve watched the In Search Of History episode about Sacco & Vanzetti, two Italian born members of a group of anarchists led by another Italian immigrant, Luigi Galleani. Many immigrant radicals were arrested & deported during the first Red Scare of 1920, & Sacco & Vanzetti were wrongly convicted for what happened to a paymaster & a guard at a shoe factory.
im doing this for homeroom credit and im so like slow that i dont even understanding what ur saying like my brain is not listening and understanding ive been suck on this assignment for like 2 weeks 💀
Fun facts: one of the people killed during the break-up was a pregnant woman who was run over by a tank. Learned that in 7th grade. Can't believe I still remember that.
Hey! Have you considered Depzap Total Depression Domination (Have a quick look on google, cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some great things about it and my cousin was able to get rid of depression once and for all.
Eugene Debs ran from prison in 1920 as the presidential candidate of the Socialist Party of America or SPA., He received nearly a million votes in 1920, but he did better in 1912 both in total votes and percentage of votes cast. Of course, in 1912 Debs was free to travel and in 1920 he was confined to one press release a week. Charles Schenck was general secretary of the Philadelphia Socialist Party. The anti-draft leaflets he disseminated were mailed to young men urging them to resist conscription. Schenck v. U.S. and Debs v. U.S. were separate cases, but were decided along the same lines. William "Big Bill" Haywood served as the general secretary-treasurer of the Industrial Workers of the World or "Wobblies." For a number of years, Haywood also served on the executive committee of the SPA. In 1912 and 1913 the SPA and IWW split over syndicalism v. electoralism. The IWW favored union organizing along industrywide lines, while many in the SPA favored craft unions and the ballot box. Haywood was also convicted of opposing the draft and fled to the USSR while on bail. My point is that while there were certainly non-socialists like Jane Addams who opposed America's entry into World War I, the "First Red Scare" was deliberately targeted at socialists and anarchists precisely because of their opposition to the war. Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were SPA members and committed anarchists who were convicted of murder during a payroll robbery in 1920. The evidence given at trial included that they had actively evaded the draft. The evidence not only did not support a conviction, it exculpatory. Never the less, they were executed in 1927.
watched both videos for information on the red scare for my essay on "the crucible" and its parallel with McCarthyism it has made things so much more understandable thankyou very much
I know all about the Bonus Army. Did you know it was Gen.MacArthur who led the charge against his own peers. the attack was I believe in 1931 so a little outside the scope of the red scare. Im a big Zinn fan so if you read Peoples History you get the history your talking about. I think I included the idea that tens of thousands went on strike not just commies and anarchists..m not sure what to say about your experiences with other human beings, I can only be me. Thanks as always for you 2cents
I'm doing A-Level USA history in the UK and your videos have been super helpful! Thanks so much for uploading!!! Makes revising a lot easier!!

Brilliant! Very informative and made easier to digest the information with his informal approach.

Do you mean we are supposed to stop learning after college? Or are you somehow thinking that you should have learned EVERYTHING in school? That's sad.
