Fantastic players all...geez this is the YOUTH orchestra..... love the drummer... superb time keeper and swings like F... this tempo is a killer and he s nailed it to the wall. Born to play... a joy to hear.
If you think about it...the conductor does not need to be there... he's just sort of dancing along hahaha... the band will keep their own tempo and there's nothing he can do about it.. haha... he's just needed at the end when it's time to STOP... that's about it.
Mac A. He’s not needed in the performance, but I’m sure he’s given all kinds of advice about articulation, phrasing, and balance in the rehearsal process that is integral to making the band turn from amazing individual players into a unified band with a consistent aesthetic conception of the arrangement.
They’ll all have been rehearsed by him , his interpretation of the overall artistic integrity of the arrangements. The skill is like most conductors leaders let their band’s creativity flow, but if you watch carefully all eyes are on him at important points. That’s professionalism both leaders and sections and soloists. He ain’t no ornament ! It’s a great job he does.
Do really such great musicians somebody in front of the band to show them when to play and how to play ? Nice blue suit. Basie on piano, Duk too, Buddy Rich on drums, Mintzer with saxes section; jazz needn't Karajan.
Nicolas Everaert yeah, this piece was originally written legato, and with your comment I can guarantee that you've heard caravan from whiplash and assumed that its pure staccato when in fact, in technical terms, the whiplash version of caravan is wrong.
Now this is quite my tempo.
This is a Youth Jazz Orchestra. Youth. Let that sink in. Awesome.
can we just take a second to notice how sweaty the director is?!
mate WRONG suit choice...
Nah you haven't seen Gergiev yet..

It means that they are crashing it
9 out of 11 songs maybe
It’s probably the date
Do really such great musicians somebody in front of the band to show them when to play and how to play ?

@@theotherdude3436 roasted lol
The Other Dude have you seen this being performed by Charly Antolini? That’s in staccato. Recommend that video too.
That alto sax solo was maybe the worst solo I’ve ever heard from a clearly talented musician
You clearly haven’t seen me play improv
I hate saxophones. So unnecessary that they just need to shut up.
- Saphira24xox - why ?
Hating because you ain't us ;)
- Saphira24xox - maybe you are jealous because you can’t play as well as these saxophonists can
Stupid fucking trumpet player shut up and go back to blasting on quiet parts and being off beat
this the jazz drama i live for
