- A review of our Can Am Spyder 2011 RT SE5.
We are so pleased with this bike and after considering other options such as the Honda Gold Wing, we decided that the Spyder was the bike for us.
The Spyder gives so much more in comfort, control, stability and safety.

Enjoyed the walk around of your Can-Am Spyder. We used to have a 2014 Harley Davidson Tri-Glide Ultra Classic , But it was time for a change, so we purchased a pre-owned 2014 RT Limited SE6 edition, with low kilometres. I agree with your comment, have never had a more comfortable , stable and secure ride. Thanks for sharing. Safe Travels.

Thanks for the comment. We've been touring locally because of the Covid restrictions but fingers crossed next year we will be able to get away further afield.

So enjoying your vlog. We have filmed a couple of trips but unlike you it seems to take us ages to edit and upload. Les, I appreciated your review very much. I have a 2010 Onyx Black one. I have a question. Can you tell me where to purchase that cover you showed in the review? I have a cover, but the one you showed seemed to be a better selection for traveling. Thanks again.
Sorry for the delay. I purchased it about year ago. On ebay. £55. Its called ultragard cover.
I was wondering what your mpg you get from the machine, also I cant wait for mine to arrive i have always been use to automatic so semi automatic will get some use to any advice ?
Hi there, I think you'll find it really easy to get used to. Most say about 30MPG but I find I'm getting around 33/34 MPG at around 45 - 50 MPH. I bet you cant wait for yours to arrive. Send me a photo when you get it.

Nice review, I used to see a small group of these parked up at paignton bike nights, good alternative to a Gold Wing if weight is a problem.

Yes we are missing Paignton Bike nights. Have you heard whether they'll be back?
We still ride over to Paignton though.
We haven't tried Plymouth bike night as yet.

BMAD Charity no longer exists, so there were no plans for any more bike nights and because of the Covid, probably wouldn' t have gone ahead anyway. It would be great if some other charity such as Devon Air Ambulance trust got involved in carrying on the bike nights on Paignton sea front as I'm sure they would remain popular..

Hi Jose. I got them custom made to my specification by a local metal fabricator. Stainless steel chrome
good job,do you have a way to know the best years for a byer to get a trouble free SPYDER i know they changed Motor size 2013 to 2014 years from 998 to 1298 ......another way 1000...to 1330..that i know,,,,i will give you an example ...if you ask me about HONDA CRV,,,i can tell you stay away from few years like 2015...2017 and so on....i am not a mechanic but i been lessening to that ...so that 2016 its a good CAR ...lol. TY
I just suggest doing a bit of homework, study the bikes, check out TH-cam videos, so that you are really familiar with the model you want. I would check your nearest Can Am dealership. I purchased mine from a reputable dealership 400miles away from my home. Have a chat with them and let them know what you are looking for.

My wife has expressed an interest in getting a Spyder. There is one identical to this for sale locally for $11,000 USD. It has 12.000 miles on the clock and appears to be in nice condition. It has had some recent repairs done with many new components installed. ( pads, rotors, clutch, clutch lines, clutch pistons, new parking brake, oil change, new tires, and new vacuums) , not sure what that means. I don't whether to be afraid of all those repairs or be glad they have been done. My wife is 5 feet tall, do you think the seating position would be a good fit for her? I have no idea how the handle bars/ seat/ foot peg relationship is configured. What do you think of the price on it? Great video, very informative.
I would be a bit cautious. Is it from a dealership? Has the work been carried out by a dealership? And is the work guaranteed?
Does it have Full service history? Receipts for work carried out?
I say this because I have just had a full service by a professional motorcycle mechanic and there was a glitch even with the simple oil change. They can be tempermental machines because of all the computer electronics. Mine was quickly rectified by the perseverence of my mechanic.
You really need to get a few test drives sorted to check for comfort.
