This was a fun group of sapphires. It shows a good variety in colors that sapphires can come in. My sapphires can be found in my Etsy shop: maxfieldlapidary.etsy.com I will have a booth at the Tucson Gem Show in the Pueblo Gem Show booth number 123 in the Court Pavilion. Show dates run from January 30 - February 11. Stop by if you want to see some of my work in person or meet me/talk to me there.
I might stop by your booth, but frankly it looks like you need to slow down and get more even and accurate facets. I'd only be looking for recut potential at your booth for most of the stones in this video.
Some of the Eldorado bar sapphires come from miners that go through the old mine dumps from the gold miners that were getting gold from the Missouri River. Back in the day the sapphires were just thrown out with the rest of the gravel.
I have no clue what you are talking about when you are doing this, but you made the stones so pretty! I can imagine all of them as center stones in rings.
I was particularly taken by the hot pink, ice blue, and yellow. They turned out spectacularly, especially the hot pink gem. You saving it for your wife makes me smile.
Thanks for sharing your cutting, polishing of theses sapphires. I really liked the yellow one, the dk pink one was amazing. Glad you’re giving it to your wife.
The dark pink really is the star of the show! Yellow is my favourite Sapphire colour but hexagon is my favourite cut. Yes the icy blue has a lot of inclusions but they give it even more of an icy effect, love it!
I hate pink in almost any circumstance, but I love it in gemstones. Nature is the only thing that gets pink right! Also, I love the cut you did on that pink one. Well done indeed.
IDK why I find watching stone cutting fascinating but I do and you sir with the hand fouund/cut/ and given to the better half stone, is there even a brownie point value big enough for that kind of act !!!!!! She must really mean the world to you, congratulations to you both :)
What timing! I just finished watching the Montana video and was wondering if they'd been cut! What a great video! My favorite stone is the one right before the hot pink one. When it's done, it looks like there's a rose inside! Amazing!
It is an amazing world we live in that I so happen to stumble across your page with no history of gemstone videos in my TH-cam to find a man akin in heart to mine own for the love of finding and refining gemstones. Thank you sir for your time on the videos and sharing a beautiful part of your world with us. If you ever find yourself in central Florida, I now owe you a fine glass of Cabernet!
Oh m goodness! So many pretty stones, but I'm in love with that hot pink sapphire, and the teal one. They're all amazing, though. Also, I LOVE the sparkle on the icy blue oval. So shiny!
Yellow marquise stone caught my eye. First time viewer. I had little conception how much work and art went into stone cutting. I like clear, sparkly stones.
Wowww ❤✨️💕 So pretty!! I really love the large yellow and blue-green more round one and the hot pink and light orange-y-pink ones. Really inspiring, I'd love to get into gem cutting!
Such beautiful stones and amazing cuts as well!! I was just blown away with the pink for your wife. It was absolutely stunning. I'm happy for her. But love all your stones and your craftmanship.🙂
I am amazed to see this big variety of colours! Found, designed the cut, and cut by you, how very special a gift indeed for your wife! I also remember the 'most delicate blue sapphire you cut for your daughter. To me it looked like a flower of 'forget-me-not'. Now learned a new word: 'padparadscha'. Thank you for the video Matt!
I think stones with inclusions and clouding are beautiful. I understand the need for separating by quality but I find something very special about the non-uniformity as well
Love the video. I've gotten Montana Sapphire dirt several times. I don't get any large stones big enough to cut. They turned out beautiful! Love the lighter colors.
Dang bruh i remember that video and was wondering what was ever gonna become of em. And lo and behold this video pops up (albeit about a week late). They look beautiful, you did a great job.
Yet another hobby I wish I could enter, but I already have enough expensive creative hobbies as it is. I shall just sit here and vicariously live it through this channel. I wonder if my grandfather used similar tools. He was a hobbyist jeweler and made everyone rings with their birth stones a few years before he passed. I know he used a lot of old fashioned methods like creating sand and wax molds. I was just starting to get into 3D printing and had shared a few resin printed rings with him which definitely interested him. Wish I could have shared this video with him and ask him about his process.
That first of the two Icy gems……..😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫🤤🤤🤤🤤 I would literally sell my soul for that stone. And the cut you gave it was just perfect ,so many angles to catch the light , and make it sparkle. so beautiful well done.❤❤❤❤ Edited to say, also that hot pink one is absolutely stunning. Your wife it’s gonna be one lucky lady. Oh my god…. imagine the two of them on one ring? You would literally blind people LOL
These look spectacular. My favourite would be the greenish blue one (second from the left in your final screenshot) just because of that beautiful colour. Second favourite has to be the hot pink one. Love how it catches the light.
Which one do I like best? ALL OF THEM! My birthstone is sapphire and when I found out you could get different colored sapphires I was thrilled. I a ring and gemstone junkie so I take any or all of these in a bring or necklace! Lovely work and your wife is one lucky gal!
Greetings, Thank you for making this video and for sharing it. I’ve been interested in faceting for years. Will have to re-watch your video and look up the various terms to better understand. Thank you again ! Don in Saint Louis MO

The icy blue one is gorgeous.
🌸 have biggest one heart treated now 👍🏼
They’re all really gorgeous! I live near there and lived across from the Gem Mountain Store for a couple years. My favorites are the multi color ones
Do you charge for faceting? I have some sapphires that I would like facetted.
The blue/green and hot pink sapphires are my favorite. This video makes me want to start panning.

Thats becuz pink is a pastel...in gem it's a light violet red isn't it? I have no inclination to choose anything 'pink' either . Beautiful gem.
This channel is so underrated.
You have a gift that creates beautiful cut gems. Your talent is very impressive. Thanks for your video and your wife is a very lucky lady.
All the stones are stunning. I truly enjoyed watching the transformation of each piece.
I like the green sapphire the best. Absolutely beautiful workmanship!!

Always been my bucket list to comb through a bucket of Montana gravel.
Someday.
Look’n good!

That is awesome! Good Luck!
That hot pink one for your wife looks like a rose in gem form. Nice job
Thanks! The light contrast of the design I made for it is supposed to look a lot like a Lily.
@@MattsCornerofGemCutting Okay, I see it now. Looks really good. You gonna put it in a ring or choker or something?

This is pure art! You were speaking Greek for me 😂 but I still watched every second, it’s so fascinating what you do.
I have a penchant for yellow sapphires but the greenish blue ones are gorgeous. Have never seen that color before. It looks more like tourmaline.
The teal sapphire 😮❤❤❤

Love it! Its the camera probably but I think the hotpink has red flashes on it. So it could be a ruby IMO.
