I got my first Zildjian cymbals in 1969, and have been happily playing Zildjian my whole life. (Still am!) Thank you, to the whole Zildjian family. I love you all.
@bmbell71 Where are you getting this info from?? I would like to see these numbers somewhere. I used to be a huge Zildjian fan, but there complacency and terrible quality control has really turned me off to them.
haha! you make it seem so easy! I'm trying to find what beginner cymbals I should get. But they all sound so great!! I just can't choose. Each has ups and downs!
@TheDaltonator1234 only some of the cymbals because hand hammering is not very consistent. the AA, AAX, HH, HHX lines are al done by automated hammering
Very interesting just a minor correction, "Lathing" is not the correct term but 'Machining' is as any machinist out there knows. Thank you for a good video for the greatest cymbals in the world.
@TheDadrummerboy Sabian's metallurgy is more middle toned than zildjian's Darker tone. So it's all preference but you have to admit that despite breaking off from Zildjian they're almost equal in popularity. I agree that Sabian may have a higher variance in lathing and hammering but IMHO that's what makes your cymbal your own. You can proudly say my cymbal isn't like any in the world, and I love it cause it's unique. if you break cymbals then you're hitting them too hard no need to replace.
@NYDrummer16 really? give me one other company other than Sabian and Zildjian that have such amazing cast B20 cymbals? Think about the cymbals themselves, not which cymbals are better for your style...
Yes world wide. They produce more cymbals annually than any other manufacturer. The Turkish brands are all great, but they probably produce maybe 50K to 100K annual, where Zildjian produces around 10 times that amount. The difference being you will see Zildjian in every major music store out there, where Agop, Mehmet, Byzance are much harder to come by. I'm not saying those brands are bad, but very hard to come by.
MarlosBurgerDrums, actually they separate companies. Robert Zildjian left in 1981 and started the Sabian company. Avedis Zidjian Company is based out of Norwell, Massachusetts, USA Sabian Cymbal Company is based out of Meductic, New Brunswick, Canada.
great! having fun with them? By the way, I just meant to tell you that some of Sabian are machine hammered. Didn't mean to say that Sabian is better or Zildjian is better ;)
I have some brand new 14" Hi Hat A-Customs and they seam to have a coating on them that are not on the older type. The ones That I have are total crap $389.00 down the drain. Can You say SABIAN!
True but look up the history of sabian and zildjian. I first wanted Zildjian cymbals but than I found a really good deal on Sabians so I went with them. Ever since that day Iv'e been using Sabians but if i hadn't of got the Sabians who knows I might be using Zidjian.
@Hannibu Well thats not really true, since I, personally, think Microsoft is the best operating system for computers. Don't reply giving me reason why its not, its my opinion. Everybody has an opinion that must be respected...
Hell no... Sabian is started by one of the zildjian kids... And started up with talented cymbal makers from the zildjian factory, true... But it isn't the same company ;)
@funnyshit870 unless you can explain what exactly what you are mean by "so manufactured" (all companies cymbals are manufactured) your post has no merit!
@Ggevorkyan hand hammering is such an overrated process! do you realize how much more of a probabilty there is that a "hammerer" will make minute cracks in a cymbals as compared to a computer controlled precision auto hammering machine! and how does sabian "own" zildjian if zildjian is still #1?? when you haters have actual proof of your BS then make a legit post!
@psychodrumplayer14 Actually no they were a intermediate line. I bought them in my second year of drums. Haha therefore shouldn't of bought them? Pff! Maybe they should test their shit products before sending them out. 1623 doesn't matter because Andy Zildjian and his father no the secret to making cymbals idiot, Sabian has the four hundred year experience Zildjian does. I have a Paiste Colorsound 5, it's from the 80s and is red, the paint is perfect, not any has come off of it.
Who owns 65% of the market? Zildjian? Maybe usa market not global. In last few years there is invasion from small Turkish companies which have almost 100% zildjian sound. I mean it is B20 bronze so there is no -magic secret process- or-ancient secret reciepe-.WAKE UP!! long live ALL drummers.
What makes you think that I'm a guitar guy... Real musicians do play more than ine instrument... I have b´played drums for about 8 years And only played guitar for 3...
why they dont change their neme to zildjiana. hehe. most boring cymbal makers. no inovations, no originality at least 30 years.paiste stomped them 1989 with signature series (sound) while sabian is stomping them with much better marketing.
I got my first Zildjian cymbals in 1969, and have been happily playing Zildjian my whole life. (Still am!) Thank you, to the whole Zildjian family. I love you all.
I have near 100 cymbals and never have cleaned one. Great video, Thanks for posting.
@bmbell71

I used to be a huge Zildjian fan, but there complacency and terrible quality control has really turned me off to them.
yes please.
it doesn't matter the company of the cymbal, material or price.... the cymbals that sound good to you is the best cymbals
zildjian is the best!
@beefcake8888 weird I also think the 18in sounds unusually good, Any thoughts?
haha! you make it seem so easy! I'm trying to find what beginner cymbals I should get. But they all sound so great!! I just can't choose. Each has ups and downs!
i love a customs... they always have a great sound
Leon.....Leon!.......LEEONNN!!
Maybe seeing the rise of several other companies will give Zildian and Sabian some motivation to tighten up their game.
@TheDaltonator1234 only some of the cymbals because hand hammering is not very consistent. the AA, AAX, HH, HHX lines are al done by automated hammering
I have an original 5 piece set of 1962 Zildjian rock cymbals...played in all NYC rock venues.... what are they worth if anything at all?
You have documentation saying they were played in all venues?
Sweet man have fun drumming. :)
My favorite cymbasl are the rezos, and k hybrids from zildjian
@drummerpro12 The AA and AAX are machine hammered though
5 STARS !!
ZILDJIAN THE BEST CYMBALES MAKERS !!!!!
Avedis custom rules !!!!!!
Very interesting just a minor correction, "Lathing" is not the correct term but 'Machining' is as any machinist out there knows. Thank you for a good video for the greatest cymbals in the world.

B8 or B20? Pick a sound!
I guess you guys havent seen the sabian factory video? they do almost the same exact thing.
Best cymblas i the whole f****** world!!!

Still not enough cymbals in that vault for Terry Bozzio's kit.
@musicman387 The ZBT is a disappointment. Though look at the ZHT or ZXT, way better than the B8 and B8 pro...
Their hair look like cymbals! And i`m not high at all....
Cool video!
These are going to be the first and only brand of cymbals I will have on my drum set (as soon as I get a drum set)
You’re cheating yourself in numerous ways bud.
explosion!
@ThrowingItAway Sabians metallurgy is the exact SAME as Zildjian..fyi (same cast formula)
@NYDrummer16 really? give me one other company other than Sabian and Zildjian that have such amazing cast B20 cymbals? Think about the cymbals themselves, not which cymbals are better for your style...

the Z3's are the best Rock cymbals in the world.
Zildjian
Define "stomping them". They own 65% of the market.
haha i see your point :D
In case any of you peoples didnt know, Sabian, and Zildjian are the same company...
MarlosBurgerDrums, actually they separate companies. Robert Zildjian left in 1981 and started the Sabian company.
Avedis Zidjian Company is based out of
Norwell, Massachusetts, USA
Sabian Cymbal Company is based out of

Hahahahahahahahaha
i like zildjian but i like sabian more, their cymbals are much better sounding. i use all sabian only sabian
great! having fun with them?
By the way, I just meant to tell you that some of Sabian are machine hammered. Didn't mean to say that Sabian is better or Zildjian is better ;)
cymbals needs longer time period and its also true that over time from playing cymbals will sound better
now i am buying second hand cymbals
Thanks for not making any sense!
Are you high?
People.. SABIAN is part of Zildjian company...
I have some brand new 14" Hi Hat A-Customs and they seam to have a coating on them that are not on the older type. The ones That I have are total crap $389.00 down the drain. Can You say SABIAN!

Sad story:
Brazil has the highest fucking taxes in the world!!!
It's almost IMPOSSIBLE buy a cymbal like this here...
the only company that uses the old technique pfff Trx cymbals hello
It's not a secret. Nice try to cover it up but it's more like job security.
Hell no... Sabian is started by one of the zildjian kids... And started up with talented cymbal makers from the zildjian factory, true...

But, not to be racist... You guys are so fucking talented in drums!
They are talented with cymbals, not drums.
What makes you think that I'm a guitar guy... Real musicians do play more than ine instrument...
I have b´played drums for about 8 years
And only played guitar for 3...
nobody gives a fuckkkk
LOL.... you've replaced a craftsman with a robot good job Zildjian... if you want a real hand crafted cymbal get a Sabian.
why they dont change their neme to zildjiana. hehe. most boring cymbal makers. no inovations, no originality at least 30 years.paiste stomped them 1989 with signature series (sound) while sabian is stomping them with much better marketing.
Sabian is more innovative sorry narrator lady.
And I have played both Sabian ans Zildjian, sabian is nothing compared to Zildjians K series
sabian is nothing comparet to zildjian
