Samsung Galaxy S8 was the first smartphone in the world to feature an infinity display when it was released in 2017 while Samsung's competitors such as Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and OnePlus were all still using the old school design with physical home buttons below the screen display but in 2018 all flagship phones from Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo have adopted S8's infinity display which becomes a norm in all the phones we use today including budget and entry level smartphones. This shows how revolutionary Galaxy S8 is.
Apple didn’t adopt the infinity display they designed their own screen and removed all the bezels something the S8 didn’t do apple till this day still hasn’t used an infinity display all their panels are flat never curved and still look reminiscent of the iPhone X
Even from an s20 to and s21 is a substantial jump especially going into 2023 with the s20 series being unsupported with android updates now and its on its security patch stage for the next 2 years
I Still have a solid respect for Qualcomm SD845 it was really a strong come Back for Qualcomm.. After the 810 and 820 where on a serious challenge with Exynos 7410/8890
honestly if u compared theto the s10 that would make more sense, s8 to s9 pretty much comparing the same thing but the one ui 2.5 seperated the s9 with them not exlcuding wireless dex to the s9 and note 9 and even when we look at one ui 2.5 vs one ui 5 we haven't seem any massive jump in features yet, we need get some features here are their and some big ones but even it being 2-3 years old the one ui 5 vs one ui 2.5 not mid blowing jump we need a one ui 2.5 sucessor I can't wait for one ui 5
@Preston I'd say regular note 10 if u was willing to go in the 2-3 range the s21 is the best phone and shockingly a huge upgrade for slightly higher price and it's future proof getting 2-3 more android update and 4 Years of security update, might I suggest to save up a bit more money wait for the s23 series to come out and the price of s21 to reduce more, u can find it under $300 so I'd say low $200 is what u might find it for and if the stylus is a huge plus I would say s21 ultra over note 20 ultra just cause it's on its security patch stage now and it's slightly more expensive than the s21 ultra even. Right now the s21 ultra costs $449 and s22 for $379 meaning u might go as low as high $300 for s21 ultra and lower $300 for the s22. If u can save up a bit more still the s23 series and get $400 u won't find a better phone than the s21 ultra for even 5 or 6 range their is no competition it's an absolute beast for mid range price and future proof.
@Preston I'd say get the s21 instead it blows all these phone out of the water rightnow u can find it for under $300 but as the s23 comes out it will go for in the low $200 or maybe as low as $199 under $200, this phone is future proof and will get u 2-3 more android updates and 4 more years of security updates and u wont find any beast $200 phones that is future proof and the iPhone 11 beast but its not the same level of phone while the s21 gets the modern s22 treatment software wise. If your an iPhone guy than don't buy the xr take advantage of the discount and get the iPhone 11 for $199.
Hopefully samsung will bring a less power efficient processor so that we can have the same if not better battery life than iPhone as thats what samsung was always known for until iPhone 11 series were things switched around and the biggest problem with samsung or android phones in general is bad standby time even without always on display on if I sleep with 100% battery I'll be at 88~91% battery like why is my devices discgarrging 1% every hour for a flagship it should be 1-2% per night sleeps and I'm talking with everything off in fact considering that samsungs AOD shuts dowmn 99% of the pixels we should wake up with 97~98% battery and they also need to improve the battery drain between 100-90% and the 7-10% of battery if the battery was to drain at the right ratio in these total 17% that would put it in line with iPhones, before iPhones user to drain faster when closer to 20% but now thats been fixed and battery drains at the same pace like I can go outside with my iPhone at 1% battery and still be good for 20-30 mins were as if I take my samsung phone outside when its on 1% without even using it the standby time is hardly 20-30 sec that makes no sense to me
This channel never fails to bring back nostalgia, wondering if to buy a s9 as secondary phone now

Same, except I went for the S21 Ultra
@@zeppelin0110 don't like big sized phones so try and keep it small
0:04 holy shit bro that one on the left wtf ive never seen screen burn that bad
That what I'm saying
There was barely any speed difference between the S8 and the S9 back in the day but fast forward 5 years later the gap has surely widened
Thanks. What was the thing you said you could have done or join to Future proof it if it's out of updates and how much does it cost?
The extra camera thing on the s8 is actually a iris scanner which had a huge improvement and it was way better than the previous s7 series
Still daily driving s7edge SD 820 Gold platinum
And the Legend S9plus SD845..
In 2022
❤ Thank you planning to buy this
I have a Samsung s8 and its perfect

@@lucid.6610 it means like the on screen navigation bar is permanently in the screen
@@brendenmarks6292 how is that refer to the word burning?
@@lucid.6610I think they are meaning like "grandfathered in" idk?
