I'm sure that if someone said to Levy that spending an extra £100 million on top of his budget would guarantee winning the Premier League, he wouldn't do it.
He would prefer for us to finish 4th and stay within budget because it would get us into the Champions League anyway.
His priority is money not silverware.

Arsenal have won 4 fa cups since 2004.
Tottenham has regularly overachieved by finishing in the top four.. League Cup should be disbanded. My biggest issue with the ownership is the numerous times we’ve bottled semi finals of the FA Cup. That’s the trophy at Tottenham Hotspur built their history on.

Tottenham won't sign anyone between now and the end of the transfer window. There has been widespread speculation surrounding Eze, Toney, Gallagher, Neto, Chiesa, Gimenez, Jonathan David, Solanke among others. Will we do anything? No way Jose! Same old Spurs and Ange Postecoglou will walk if this situation continues. He's holding back at present; but for how much longer? I love the Lilywhites, yet realize we are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land...
I think will will sign a couple more this window ... but not the half dozen signings some have been thinking

We have no wingers who can cross a ball properly so a striker with current squad still does not fix the problem. We need a proper winger and then a decent striker but not Solanke or Toney.

I get Gabby's point, but the flip side is that unlike many of their rivals, Spurs arent blowing themselves up on PSR rules. Levy was well ahead of the curve, and as a result PSR is unlikely to cause him many sleepless nights.
Lkke it or not, running a club is a lot more than just bringing in new players window after window.
PSR has, for now, changed the landscape for transfers - and we're yet to see how it will play out for other big clubs who've teetered over that particular precipice in recent years..

Of course Levy wants us to win a trophy, he’s the man that’s been building our incredible training facility and our fantastic stadium. You’re only adding fuel to the fire of those so called Spurs fans that want him out.
Most of us don’t care about the South London team called Arsenal and it’s an absolute outrage to have some of our supporters worry about them.
We are developing and going in the right direction, like other clubs that have built new stadia we will see that revenue come in soon and it will go towards the team.
Daniel Levy does not pick the teams ffs and he wants Spurs to win a competition - to suggest otherwise is just ridiculous - the question is why don’t Spurs try harder in the cups? They often pick a weakened team. I just don’t get it but I can’t see Levy being directly involved - what I do agree on though is top four being really important - it brings in much more money than winning a domestic cup and helps you buy better quality players - this season Spurs have a much better squad and I think they will challenge hard on all fronts

I’d take 7th and a cup but I don’t take an issue with how the club is run. Spurs have a foundation to compete and it hasn’t always been like that in my lifetime. While other clubs flaunt FFP rules Spurs will have a massive sense of pride when success eventually comes. May not be in my lifetime 😂

I thought this was common knowledge? he's always been about ticking boxes I remember few seasons back under Conte they faced Sheffield United in the FA Cup obviously Sheffield United was 2nd in the championship if I remember correctly and they got sent home packing, Conte's post match presser he went off on one "I'm forced to do things because of clubs demands" which he's referring to that prestigious UCL 4th spot and that to me is absolutely disgusting any team who's been starved of success for years who's in that type of position and feels the need to field a weaker team against Sheffield United (respectfully away in the cup is just filth man..

I'm well aware of that hypothetical position, and it was my assertion that it's a tired argument, often used by pundits, to oversimplify a situation for dramatic effect. It's actually irrelevant whether or not Levy feels it's more important to qualify for the Champions League or win a cup. He likely does feel that creating a team to qualify and compete in the CL regularly is the most important stage in Spurs' development. That, however, would naturally increase Spurs' chances of winning a cup, because they will accordingly be a stronger team. It's not mutually exclusive. How do you go about building a cup team without building a league team? It's completely impractical to build a team with the explicit goal of winning a domestic cup and not to compete at the top of league. So while you may think it's a clever talking point, in reality building a team that has a great chance in the cups and to get into the CL are THE SAME THING.

Levy wants to generate money but he doesn't support the manager properly in the transfer market.
It's the eighth richest club in the world but he still doesn't provide the necessary funds or he tries to negotiate a lower fee, dragging out the transfer and another club comes in and we miss out on the player altogether.
This means that the manager does not get his first choice player, the team is not sufficiently strengthened and Tottenham do not close the gap on the other teams and the wait for silverware continues.
It's that simple.
I've spent enough time explaining this to you.
Maybe we should move onto another discussion.
I'll explain the difference between night and day and you can insist that they're the same thing.

@@adammohamed.. levy been in charge for 23 yrs and accidently won 1 league cup all hes bothered about is bringing in singers to perform (which brings in more money than winning any cup) and to be in champ league position. you are blind if you dont see this or even hear what hes said at shareholder meetings, the fan club president has even called him out on saying this.

The buck stops with the players they are the ones on the pitch and the high profile managers we’ve had. We’ve bottled it numerous cup finals , numerous FA cup semifinals , do we even register a shot on target in the champions league final? Third and a two horse race against Leicester , highest finish the year later since 1962. Winning trophies is not for everyone. United & Liverpool are legacy clubs. City and Chelsea oil clubs , Arsenal other than 6 years initially under Wenger haven’t done anything else apart from a few FA Cups in the last 30 odd years.
