@@francisvoyer I agree, but Tampa hasn't had back to back bad games for two years in the playoffs. They always come back very strong after a poor performance. Beating them 4 out of 5 is highly unprobeable, not impossible, but I wouldn't bet those odds. And teams who go down 2-0 lose 90% of the time in the finals. So, a lot of things have to change for the Habs to take it in 7.

I will never forget that Coleman goal but the Palat goal on Edmundson turnover is the most heartbreaking goal i've seen as a Habs fan. Before those 2 goals it was Nathan Horton's game 7 goal in 2011. Still remember that one like it was yesterday..

The Islanders are golfing! Habs are still playing hockey. Being down 2 games in a series isn't a first for them this season. It's an L regardless, but habs were the better team tonight. They proved they belong here. WHat the next game holds? Who knows. But you need to win 4, lightning haven't done that yet.

This was one of the most frustrating games I've ever seen. Montreal was all over the Lightning, especially in the second period, and just couldn't get good enough looks or pucks past the goaltender often enough. Tampa made the most of many of the chances they got, including one brutal giveaway. Keep putting in efforts like that and you generally get rewarded though. I hope Montreal can capitalize on Friday.
Problem is, Tampa doesn't usually have two bad back to back games. Vasilevskiy bailed them out on this one. I expect them to play much better in game 3. Good luck!

Life isn’t fair. The Lightning are stacked and their goalie looks almost bullet proof. The Canadians had a good run of puck luck to get to the finals but that has ended. ...if I'm on the coaching staff for MTL I put it to them like this...it wasn't a TBL win more so a MTL loss...in the late stages of a period you don't mess around unless you're in the offensive zone...and even then...TBL got a good goal (that screen shot Price couldn't see, even though he almost got it at the last second)...but those two gaffes were 'regular season' mistakes during a playoff performance...they outplayed TBL handily, and if they had gone into OT their chances of a W go up...but that those two giveaways (especially Edmonson) just can't happen in the Playoffs, much less the finals...neither were forced either...a quick chip and the period is over...and a proper pass back or better yet up the boards and it's still a 1-1 game... ...now if MTL can sort those brain farts, play game three and onwards like game two...then this goes the distance and it's a toss up at the end...but those sorts of brain cramps and penalties and it may be over next week (still think they pull off at least one at home with the crowd and Ducharme back behind the bench)...
Habs only got to the finals because of the way the divisions were set up. This is a weak finals. Bolts in 4. Reminds me of the weak division set up during the 70’s.
The Bolts gave up a 1st round pick to the Sharks for Barclay Goodrow and it was well worth it. Goodrow makes Tampa a better well rounded team and tougher to play against.
Stevie Y made this team and developed their attitude about winning and their speed. If he can make my Wings an elite team again he will go down in history in the top 3 of hockey minds for sure. Idk the other 2 lol scotty bowman and someone older im sure haha

Watched these highlights cause I wasn't able to catch the game last night. I will say this though, the first goal allowed was on Price more than the rest. The defense was standing around, but that was still a savable puck, no reason whatsoever to let that go through. The second one was more about not clearing the puck than it was on Price although he had a late reaction. If you keep fooling around with it in your own zone, bad things will happen. Clear it out, kill the time and don't let them get any confidence going into the third. Anyway, the third and final goal, well, that was incidental, nothing Price could do about that. I still think Tampa's gonna easily win this series though, just too much horse power in their lineup.
There are a couple decent ones in the comments below but in general? Compared to what we have here, Leafs fans were sweethearts after game 4 a few weeks ago

Yeah lol! Habs are very average with an amazing goalie! I think in this series the goalies cancel each other out and then Tampa definitely has a way better team. Habs play hard so they might still eke out a win.

Lightning play one bad game all series... This was that game, and they still pulled off the W. Unbelievable effort tightening up in the 3rd and getting that cough up for Pally's dagger goal.

This was easily the Habs game to lose. Tampa didn't play as good as they normally do and Habs had the better chances yet they still couldn't score 🤷♂️.

Tampa has incredible depth. Habs need to continue to outplay them and the goals will come, but this is a tall order indeed.

Life isn’t fair. The Lightning are stacked and their goalie looks almost bullet proof. The Canadians had a good run of puck luck to get to the finals but that has ended. That goal with 1 second left in the second period was the crusher. If the Canadians can’t pull out game 3 their chances are toast.
Come on Habs. The Islanders put up more of a fight.

...if I'm on the coaching staff for MTL I put it to them like this...it wasn't a TBL win more so a MTL loss...in the late stages of a period you don't mess around unless you're in the offensive zone...and even then...TBL got a good goal (that screen shot Price couldn't see, even though he almost got it at the last second)...but those two gaffes were 'regular season' mistakes during a playoff performance...they outplayed TBL handily, and if they had gone into OT their chances of a W go up...but that those two giveaways (especially Edmonson) just can't happen in the Playoffs, much less the finals...neither were forced either...a quick chip and the period is over...and a proper pass back or better yet up the boards and it's still a 1-1 game...
...now if MTL can sort those brain farts, play game three and onwards like game two...then this goes the distance and it's a toss up at the end...but those sorts of brain cramps and penalties and it may be over next week (still think they pull off at least one at home with the crowd and Ducharme back behind the bench)...

The Bolts gave up a 1st round pick to the Sharks for Barclay Goodrow and it was well worth it. Goodrow makes Tampa a better well rounded team and tougher to play against.

Watched these highlights cause I wasn't able to catch the game last night. I will say this though, the first goal allowed was on Price more than the rest. The defense was standing around, but that was still a savable puck, no reason whatsoever to let that go through. The second one was more about not clearing the puck than it was on Price although he had a late reaction. If you keep fooling around with it in your own zone, bad things will happen. Clear it out, kill the time and don't let them get any confidence going into the third. Anyway, the third and final goal, well, that was incidental, nothing Price could do about that. I still think Tampa's gonna easily win this series though, just too much horse power in their lineup.
