I haven't larped, but as someone who is into role playing, camping, and medieval faires it seems great that there is something that puts the three together. Pathfinder/D&D + Scouting. I don't care what anyone says I'd totally get into that!
most video's of larping aren't helpfull to know what is like you have to experience it. once you get into it, have a character you like, with the group of people that are nice in a world that is magical and believeable you can get lost in a world, until the larp is over and you get yanked out of the experience which is always the saddest moment.

It's sad that your friends engage in geek on geek hate. We all have enough crap to deal with, why hate on each other? LARPing never looks great in video, because when you play you are part of the game and can actively engage in that suspension of disbelief.

just an FYI, if you wanted to make a wolf tail, you can just use yarn , braided, and then brush it until it's all free like a tail, and you're all done. You can do the same thing for years obviously just slightly different

I can't speak for all larps, but all the ones I have attended always had have a Public relations/Logistics team or I have even spoken to the creators of the larp directly :) They are more than willing to help guide you through creating a character *assuming that you plan on attending the larp*
Sadly I wanted to go LARPing the instant I heard of it years ago. My friends all teased me when I tried to find a buddy to go with. I let it sink in and never went. Mad regret.

I understand your hesitation after your friends made fun of you because after I watched a ton of your videos which were really motivating I got one bad egg in my recommendations where some guy said larping is full of noobs and weak people and basically he (the guy in the video) though the rules (like no hitting against the head) were stupid and only there because weak nerds are the only people who go larping. And that's not true and such a mean thing to say! I was so angry even thought I haven't gone larping yet and it shouldn't mean so much to me when comment negativly on things I like. I larp and we have a very big one by us. Called kanar we even have a website. I have nwver played a table top but lots of us do.larping great. Players are everything from basements people to full military officials. Lol larp da bomb.

I do LARP and D&D and, yeah I guess LARP does sometimes look a bit weird but if you do it right then it’s really fun and way more enjoyable than D&D🤓

Thats super hard since no larp character sheet is the same. Really depends on the game. But if you ask a player they should be able to help you out.
