Nice video, but just as a note: if you get shoes from a thrift store, send them to get re-soled immediately. Shoes, over wear and tear, acclimate themselves to the particular wearer's foot shape and walking gait. Wearing shoes that are 'used to' someone elses feet can cause some foot aches in the long run. Not to mention, footware can get pretty gross, you want those suckers cleaned out.
About belts: go for those that won't fit around yor waist, but around your hips instead. Medieval fashion placed them there, besides- belts carried weight in medieval times and ended up sliding down to the hips. If possible, also avoid too modern buckles, they spoil the visual. If you find a large belt with a ring for buckle, the better - remember you can cut a large belt in half or even 3 straps to extend the lenght of the belt (put more metal rings! Use them to tie potion bottles, small bags and tools of yout trade), the longer the better (you may have to loops, one around waist, another falling over one of the hips).
Now all you would need with the cut version of the dress would be that satchel, a dark green cape with hood, your elf ears, some brown jewelry and a red amulet necklace, and your bow and arrows on your back for in my opinion a great elf archer idea ♡
Some really great ideas - also if you want to attend a convention but don't have the time/talent/... to make a proper cosplay, but still want to get in the spirit! I envy you for that dress - what a find! :-)
Yes!!! What a great video :) I will also hunt the thrift stores for fabric. I'll essentially find clothes whose fabric I like, and cut them up to make my own costumes. I once made a very nice, long, paneled, hooded jacket out of green faux suede from several skirts I found!
Thanks for the idea. I made a belt bag out of a purse for only $2.50. The belt bag's size is larger and better looking than this knight's bag and that thing is worth $43.00!
I've had to shop thrift since I was a kid. The one key thing I've found is consistently hitting a store. Sometimes you don't find what you need the first time.
@@thatssorissa9923 well first off why the hell are people paying attentiom to a comment i made when i was 12? and well if you're still curious im in central pennsylvania
This was super helpful! I just got an awesome dress for LARP at my local goodwill and I managed to find it because I knew what to look for, thanks to this video. Thank you so much!
This is actually really awesome to see! Is it okay if I make a video putting this to practice for my "Journey To A Fantasy World" LARP series where I prepare for my first LARP event?! :D
This maybe 5 years old, ( and the fact that I don’t know if she moved or not) but the fact that I lived near or continue to live near larp girl, and I know exactly where that thrift store is, is awesome
Larp Girl Oh I also forgot, Pro actually left nero so now it’s just Pro Larp, and it follows their own created rules that give more chances to try out new classes, multi class, and now everyone has an active role in the event!
So 4 years ago i left a comment on here sayin i've never LARP'ed as a girl. Funny story about that. I went LARPing as a girl. Turns out I wasn't just LARPing annnnnd now I'm a girl xD I have no trouble shopping for LARP clothes now, and I've found out my true gender because this video gave me the confidence to go out LARPing, which gave me the chance to find out who I am. I can not thank you enough! I actually just started my estrogen today as i write this, and this popped back up in my recommended feed, so i just knew i had to say something :)
Hello, thank you so much for coming back and letting me know what your experiences have been like. I am so grateful that you got a chance to explore yourself and that you are on a new journey. Please feel free to check in anytime, I would love to hear more.
Very inspiring..........thankyou....................and please dont worry about people critisising you your videos are far more help than some of those by people who seem to have problems with you Thanks again Milady
Great video! I don't understand why any one would criticize this video. I have 11 days to prepare for my event and am strapped for free time, so your video was a great help for me. I love the ideas on altering a men's sweater- I have just read that the women were cold at the last event. Thank you for your time in making these. I enjoyed your elven dress tutorial as well. I love re - purposing as opposed to buying new items.
I plan on making a video just like this for guys as here in Australia most of the low to no kit people are guys. Great Vid and good finds. Those mugs are dope
That heavy breathing tho, this however is a great video, I would also recommend dumpster diving in more well off communities and yard sales. You can find some pretty decent stuff, especially little trinket boxes for cheap or free. Most people are just willing to give things away since they got new furniture and it doesn't fit the theme. Rob the rich~
IDK if this is a spitoon, but lets eat stew out of it! lol great video do you have tips on getting girls to join a larp? weve had them come and go, but they dont even get into it! thx! love your videos!!!
Possibly treat them like everyone else, and don't be mesmerized by them when a girl is there? It's probably the awkward staring, or constant attempts of people trying to pick them up that makes them not come back.
Yea, that does happen lol everyone kinda is scared to talk to them then they ALL get up the balls and they attack in a pack lol is that not what girls want?!?!? lol jk jk thx for the response!!!

Hey i have just gone to my local goodwill and i just have to say thanks i got shirt a bag and a wooden fork and bowl thanks for the help larp on my not really friend
Hey ! So I'm making a LARP with a few of my friends and i was going to be a girl. Now I've never played a girl before, let alone shopped for girl clothes, so is there anything i should stay away from or is everything that fits useful? Also, would you happen to know anything about makeup and contour?
Интересное видео. У нас в России есть специальные оффлайн магазины для ЛАРПеров и исторической реконструкции. Лично мне больше нравится делать вещи самому ) хотя, иногда проще купить готовое
this stuff is excellent as a guide though, as someone who does byzantine as a reenactment thing.. i did have a few.. WELL ACTUALLY moments i m ust admit. same with viking (not a discouragement, for LARPO you get to play a biut more fast and loose with the finer details. it's just an instinctive reaction of minre)
Dude! Don’t drink out of pewter mugs. Sometimes they can contain lead. Actually probably don’t drink out of glass that might be old either. Come to that, avoid bringing glass stuff to LARP. Other than that, nice video.
hi LARP Girl! quick question. I've noticed the metal mugs you found are similar to the one you had in the Oakheart Armory video (the one were you discussed your friend who passed away) I'm not trying to can you a liar at all so were these just a great one of a kind find?
I go to good will outlets all the time for this purpose, there are so many women's boot designs that would work great for men but they are too small.where are all the big foot women lol.
Keep looking! I go in at least once a week and visit different stores. Goodwill is a great place, but check out community thrift stores and yard sales.
Hey quick question about larping cross gender. I play a necromancer named Necrobella and she has a rather curvy figure and is super elegant. I've been very open about my gender identity so its less the confidence of dressing female, as much as that is still a concern. My main issue is my current actual figure is rather "plus size" and manly, as would be expected from a biological male. Do you have any tips on creating a girlish figure for someone who isnt a girl on the outside but has always wanted to be? I guess this would be useful for both in Larp and out xD
I find belts are fantastic for helping to shape help shape clothing. I would see about looking into TH-cam videos about how women used to dress, there are a couple interesting channels I’ve come across by accident surrounding fashion throughout the centuries. It was informative for me, (a woman with very little fashion sense.) I feel like it can be helpful both for larping and styling in general. Good luck and have fun!
I plan on making a video just like this for guys as here in Australia most of the low to no kit people are guys. Great Vid and good finds. Those mugs are dope

You put Macklemore to shame. Thrift stores are go-to first stops for all larp costuming and props.
3:30 "Not only can you BEAT people with it..." 😂😂😂👌❤
As soon as you said "See the green?" My phone fell on my face. ;-;
+TheRandomMuffinOfROBLOX like if u cri evrytim :.(

See that green?
Phone: *YES, I WILL MAKE ABSOLUTE SURE THAT YOU SEE THAT GREEN*
Phone: SEE YOU GREEN MORTAL!

"See the green?"

Ahhh, a Pittsburgh LARPer!!!! I've been looking into doing my first LARP and your channel is a great resource.
This was extremely helpful but I still can't find a larp that I can go to
Chicken Nug Studios I know this thread is hella old but what area are you in?!
If near Atlanta Georgia there’s one starting soon
@@thatssorissa9923 well first off why the hell are people paying attentiom to a comment i made when i was 12? and well if you're still curious im in central pennsylvania
Chicken Nug Studios well I was in a larping group. They have it all over the USA so I was gonna find one for you if you were interested x
This was super helpful! I just got an awesome dress for LARP at my local goodwill and I managed to find it because I knew what to look for, thanks to this video. Thank you so much!
This is a really helpful guid for where it the thrift store I should look! Thank you!
all the larps in my area died out several years ago si im watching these and planning the most amazing outfits for when one pops up
I call the shelves of non-clothes the prop department as well. Great video.
haha I'm not the only one! That is awesome!!
This is actually really awesome to see! Is it okay if I make a video putting this to practice for my "Journey To A Fantasy World" LARP series where I prepare for my first LARP event?! :D
I have that exact same green dress for a Mirkwood elf cosplay. I love it.
This maybe 5 years old, ( and the fact that I don’t know if she moved or not) but the fact that I lived near or continue to live near larp girl, and I know exactly where that thrift store is, is awesome

AWESOME! Thrift stores are amazing and usually inexpensive! Great video!🌷🌸
As someone who lives less than an hour from Pittsburgh I found this helpful
Happy to hear. I don't live in PA anymore but this was my favorite store to visit. :)

Hey, where do you attend LARP events, i'm also from Pittsburgh and I cant really find any in the area and i want to try it out.
Are there some thrift stores that have triple-X clothes?
Mary Helsing probably, it's mostly stuff people want to get rid of so I don't see why not
