    You didn’t have a residency where the attending could grill you for 4 years after grad school on your exam, diagnostic, and treatment skills/knowledge where the attending forcibly altered your assessment and plan to ensure proper care based on their extensive training and experience. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to change your A&P given it’s the physician’s license on the line as well as the patient. I am a 3rd year medical student going through rotations at the moment, and I in no way feel comfortable with my A&P and probably won’t for years and years. That is not low self-extreme either, but recognition that I need to continue learning and improving and to always check myself before making a decision.

      You are lying and you will not go back to medical school even for your masters degree and also many psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioners do residency after getting their PMHNP including my teacher so shut up if you just want to show your false shine

      I have seen many orthopedic doctors make the patient addicted to opioid painkillers without any fear or doubt, considering it a natural thing. Where is the justice in this matter??

    Thank you for your opinion!!!
    Don't feel bad for not being able to cure everyone!!! Just because you are doing a good job and listening to their problems, you are most likely the best thing that is happening to them!!!

    I hated med-surg, now I have learned I hate psych. I am going to leave this horrible profession once and for all. Nursing is degrading, abusive, sexist work.

    I just started going to an Psych NP, because of my severe ADHD all my life to the point it has made me depressed. I thought she was a psychologist when I started to see her. She never corrected me.
    We sat down and did the 2 hour evaluation 2 months ago.
    She had ADHD. But
    She won’t even give me a diagnosis.
    She worried about my kidneys and heart. Which my doctor said is fine.
    She said she would to hear directly from my doctor first before she can diagnose me. But is not bothering to contact him. Soo. I thing she doesn’t know what she’s doing to be honest. Or she doesn’t care.

    Thank you so much for the insight of being a PMHNP. You can tell the medical professionals are in your comment section. They are only proving you point. Keep up the good work!

    Kudos to all the nurses that want to be psych nps because dealing with violent patients is not something I want to deal with lol.

    I don’t see why and how PAs feel like they can look down on NP, lol.

    Well some of the work should probably be done with an ongoing therapist. I would like to help people with their mental health, but I realize many of the cons.

      of course, but some people dont want to go to therapy, which often makes it more difficult.

    Hello, I am here in the Philippines. If i finished my NP training here in the Philippines, would i have the chance to apply for a job there in the US?
    Another thing, is it better to just study my NP masteral in the US? or complete my study here as a NP in the Philippines and apply for a job there?

      If I were you, I would finish RN first, get experience as RN and come to US then you can pursue NP. Just my opinion.

    Very insightful video! I hope people aren’t looking at Psych NP like CRNA! Psych takes a special type of person that can handle all of those high stress situations you listed. O, and those grumpy physicians need to practice what they preach and have some self awareness to realize we are ALL a TEAM, and their defensive behavior is not conducive to positive patient outcomes!

      Thank you so much! Unfortunately, it has already begun, more and more people are wanting to be psych NPs with absolutely no psych experience because they heard about how much money we can make. They don't consider what it takes because the amount of stress we deal with is ALOT!

      @patriciadcnp 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Life of a Psych NP I hope the psych NP programs at least require psych experience? If someone never wanted to be a psych nurse, what makes them think they would enjoy advanced practice psych? 🤔 I feel like to be a psych NP, you need to have extra empathy and really believe in humanity to truly be there for your patients and not hate people when you go home. I’m not a psych NP, but we all have those patients sometimes whose personality or psych pathology challenges our ability to maintain compassionate care!

      Too many ads!

    • @patriciadcnp
      @patriciadcnp 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      mik0229 Ads are required for good content from producers with full time jobs. The ads are only 4-10 seconds long. If you cannot control your thoughts and emotions for that long, you may want to pursue a different career. Nursing requires a lot of patience and understanding of others’ situations. Good luck!

      @@patriciadcnp I can control my thought and emotions well. If a NP is this quick to judge my entire personality off of this one short comment and be insensitive, I dont know how your patients feel about you although you are capable to prescribe and might cure them. NP takes a EQ more than IQ. I think you are the one in a wrong career and don't belong in healthcare. Not to mention, obviously your full time NP job pay isn't enough not to embed all these ads. Here you go, th-cam.com/users/Michelle김미연 Do you see a single ad in her TH-cam? Not all NPs are money hungry like you and actually in it to help others.

    All spectrum of MDs have confidence issues. They compete among themselves as well. So what if they took a few more science classes that they will never use. Lol Also, even though some states allow full practice, most hospitals and clinics still have in house restrictions.
