That was amazing! I most liked the spectacular Coastal Walk, with the beaches, the cliffs, and the views of the surf. It's beautiful. The crowds are a distraction, but that's the price for large numbers of people to enjoy it. I was impressed by how clean everything is and the absence of wandering groups of seemingly predatory youths.
The coastal walk, view of the surf and cliffs definitely make Bondi worth visiting in my opinion. I'm no expert on the going ons around Sydney but from what I understand there is a big divide especially between the Eastern and Western suburbs. There are hood/ghettos and dangerous neighbourhoods with gangs that most locals avoid . Even last year at Bondi Junction there was a mass stabbing attack which shook the city so there's definitely problems, I don't want to pretend that there isn't. If you're interested to see the other side of the city, I would recommend checking out the Into the Hood series by @Spanian (former criminal turned content creator who got completely clean off narcotics/alcohol) where he visited dangerous hoods in Sydney, Australia, and also internationally. Very interesting watch given his background and perspective on it. Looks like you had nice day at Bondi and Lunch and the coastal walk is pretty cool especially on nice day and I like seeing you enjoying the creek at home hehe.
For sure I'm immensely grateful for the creek haha. I definitely think Bondi is overhyped, but that doesn't take away from the spectacular cliffs, views of the surf and coastal walk.
The cliffs and the coastal walk was definitely the highlight for me. In terms of beaches to enjoy I would look elsewhere for a more hidden beach in a secluded cove, like Collins Beach
Over hyped overcrowded undersize and overpriced sums up Bondi beach. Definitely not a beach for locals, only for wannabe look at me's drunk backpackers and thieves. So many more decent beaches to have to yourself if you want north and south of Bondi on the Sydney coast.
Growing up on the Gold Coast, I felt much the same way about many of our popular tourist beaches. Places like Surfers are for tourists, locals rarely go there. Bondi still has some spectacular sights with the coastal walk and cliffs, but definitely a tourist trap and nicer beaches to find elsewhere away from the crows in my opinon
@Yotopian I lived at Mudgareba and Palm beach for many years and definitely agree. Gold coast can be a beautiful place to visit but a horrible place to live. For beaches and just sheer variety from long sandy surf beaches to smaller hidden beaches I don't reckon you can go to past Wollongong. And yes the coast walks are worth the bus or train to Bondi on their own.
It's the closest surf beach to the CBD, so a lot of tourists go there. It's also the main beach for one of the most densely populated areas of Australia. So yeah, it's going to be busy. Not to mention a certain TV show that has spread it's name to a fairly wide audience. There isn't anything wrong with the beach, apart from it's notorious rips - swim between the flags.
@zalired8925 Totally get what you mean with the Gold Coast. I I had a love-hate relationship growing up there. Wollongong and the south coast of NSW is another beautiful part of the country I'd love to explore
@daveg2104 All valid points. Especially with the cliffs, the nature at Bondi is spectacular. Although while there's nothing wrong with the beach itself, I still think there's much better beaches to be found elsewhere (that's the Gold Coaster in me haha)
Some of your travel videos are really blowing up! So awesome to see! Keep up the good work, Yohan!
Thanks brother!

Great insights, and yes I'd prefer beaches with less people around.
I loved those sand cliffs though and how they look so washed out.
