    This is awesome for Danielle, and inspiring for me! I won't say "but," however, as an educator, I'm currently struggling with the transition into a higher paying field/opportunity. I am going to check out the summit and see what I can do to transfer these skills.😊

      I would suggest looking into instructional design as a career pivot if that interests you. Many companies need in-house training that is specific to their product lines and customer-facing platforms. Another option I e seen with personal friends is going to teach with K-12 online. This frees them up to do tutoring or support home school networks. Higher pay and much more flexibility. Wishing you the best. ❤

      @@Refreshing_WordsHi Danielle, thanks for sharing your story. Just so I understand, are you in HR? I’ve been trying to transition into HR. Curious if you had a prior background. Thank you.

    • @Refreshing_Words
      @Refreshing_Words ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@marriejames01 Yes I worked various HR roles before transitioning to the nonprofit space about 7 years ago. This position takes me back to HR and is my first at the C-suite level. I would work with a career coach or resume writer to help you highlight your transferable skills so they stand out for HR vacancies. Experience with various software and ease in learning new systems are a huge plus; operations experience, written and verbal communication (training delivery) are great skills to have as well.I believe you should enjoy helping people. We deal with sensitive things in people's lives and a truly good HR person operates with a high level of empathy and confidentiality.

    • @marriejames01

    Very very short on details. “I walked in with my fabulous black girl-ness”--this is not a real strategy. You guys are just saying a lot of nothing. “There are tangible steps you can take”-okay! What are the steps? Crickets.
